It is safe to say that this is a fraud and nothing else. I remember that they will keep continuous to call you until you become mad or freak out. Well...the best way is to check out with credit bureau to see if someone is messing up your credit report. Also request both credit bureau for a report of your credit file. Anyway...if you found out something that sn't yours or those debts aren't yours tell both bureau to investigate. Now...my concern is....they will going through anything to tell you to pay. Like from yellow page , from your relative ( dude that's broken the law ) or anything to reach you. And ask you ( with a false name). I know because one of my friend fell for them and he's telling the whole story.

if you tell them your name. They will tell you that xxxxx you xxxx company amount of how much. Even if you say no , they will try to find out. Yea so he ( mt friend ) fell into it and give them all his personnel info , but not the sin. And going for about few months later, he wanted to make a cc. But was refuse because he got too many unknown debts under his name. So he called credit bureau to investigate the debts and after a month. Credit bureau say that they will remove the inaccuracies info . Well , guess what? After the day credit bureau send their report. tcr send a mail to say that he still own Amex 2k$ and call him the later day.

One thing is certain. They can mess up your credit score or even use false info.

I know someone else who owes money due to cell phone bills...explain this to me...
how is it that someone 18 can have a cell phone bill at 900.00 while I have my bill at 150.00 and if I don't pay the next month I get calls and then if I don't answer the calls, my phone is disconnected...how is it that the Collection Agency for a cell phone company have to collect 900.00 from an 18 year old high school drop out? Something is wrong with this picture!!!

Are they doing credit checks on kids? are they giving a minimum before the phones are shut off? because where do you think a kid will find a huge sum of money to pay off bills and collection agencies? The cell phone company can go and hire lawyers yes but guess what? they are not doing their due diligence on their clients and knowing their clients before issuing phones and locking them into contracts..this was before the recent contract changes / government.  Sooo back to my concern..where is this kid going to find the cash to pay off this creditor especially when he was working as a cook for minimum wage then quit his job again because he didn't know that quiting means NO UI...as I said before he dropped out of high school....and then he was living with friends and so he got booted out from there because he couldn't pay rent and went to get help to go back to school for second career  and was told he has to go and try to find a job but he couldn't because he was fed up of cooking and cant find a job in a factory or call centre or anywhere...no one is CALLING BACK!  SO now he went to social services and he is getting the push around there...tons of red tape...no second career no unemployment no job no options...WHAT DO YOU THINK THIS KID WILL DO NEXT???? come now people....tell me!!! I am his friend's mother!! I've given him food and shelter...but he doesn't want to be like this...he is embarrassed and yes...but if I don't do it...where do you think this kid will be right now???? yes up to no good trying to get cash by ANY FRIGGING MEANS!!!! YET people migrate here and they get 900 CAD when they claim refugee status and they get FINANCIAL HELP RIGHT AWAY....WE HAVE OUR YOUNG KIDS on the street and GIVE THEM a hard time to qualify for THE HELP THAT THE GOVERNMENT SAY IS OUT THERE ...l.for whom?

His parents are divorced and he is struggling...I've taken time off work with no pay to go to government offices only to come up with red tape....HE WANTS TO GO BACK TO SCHOOL....THIS EXPERIENCE HAS TAUGHT him a tough lesson and he needs to be in college or apprenticeship but he needs to finish college....he is motivated yet...no help for him....

BTW he finished high school recently through the TIP program at a secondary school...

Lost his job due to downsizing and could not find a job. Kept a cell phone so that he can get job calls...he received calls constantly from the collection agency...they wouldn't listen they didn't know he was single struggling to find food pay rent and so forth until we all got phone calls saying he hung himself in his apartment by tying a belt on the door knob .swung the belt over the door and hung himself....his friend found him a few days later...a note clearly stating the bills were behind and collection agencies calling all the time days and nights none stop and he couldn't take it anymore...you see some people want to pay, they don't tell family because it s not in their culture to ask or beg or for ppl to know. its demeaning for some ppl...it may be easy for YOU TO SAY pay 10.00///but what if it comes to eating vs paying a debt?

I would eat first....something like airhostess telling you in case of loss of oxygen in airplane cabin place the mask on YOUR face first before trying to help others...including kids....do you get this? well i have dealt with this particle number for the last month...calls at 7 a.,
m. calls at 930p.mp...........they have been asked repeatedly not to call my cell and if i dont answer my cell they call my home.they are rude and refuse to deal with you in any way but their way.

I received a call today from this collection agency. While I do have debt outstanding, that I'm currently paying, they left a rather intimidating voicemail. The strange part was that the person the call was regarding was named Michael something, and no one by that name has ever lived here. I called back and got through to someone and they told me they had my number on file with the proper name but were unsure about why I received the call regarding this Michael fellow. It all seemed a little sketchy, and now in reading what other people have said about this company it's seeming even more sketchy. If you're looking for advice on what to do about these calls, I can't offer much. Sometimes calling this company results in talking directly to a person, sometimes you end up with an automated recording. The only thing that I can offer is that if you ever reach an option to enter an extension number then try entering 5035. I can almost guarantee 100% that this extension will get you through to an actual person. If you don't have luck with this specific extension, at least you now know that the extension numbers are four digits long, and so I'd suggest trying another four digit number.  

I just got a call from this number as I have every saturday morning for the past 2 months.  Same message as everyone else, this is TCR, please call our office back for an urgent matter for which we would like to offer a voluntary settlement.

I called the number back, gave them my the phone number they called, and they say they have no record of that number.  They told me next time I receive a call, to call them back right away.  I said, that's what I've done this time, so how is next time going to be different.  he then said that it must have been a wrong number and that it's already been deleted from the system.  I said that's hardly the case, because you just called it, and you've called it every week since I've worked here for 2 months.  He then said that he didn't know what to say.

I gave him a very stern warning that should our number be called another time that a complaint will be filed with the CRTC, as we are a business with many employees, and should those employees start answering their calls and hearing this recorded message it could very well give those employees the impression that there is a legal matter the business is facing, which is not at all the case.

He then hung up on me.

If they will not tell you who they are when they harrass you or your friends or family and what they are calling about... DO NOT confirm your identity and ask to talk to their supervisor and ask if they have heard of FOIP.  As a debtor, you and your friends and your family have rights.  But if you have gone out just to screw some creditcard company out of millions, you should be thwarted!!!  If you've had bad luck and are truly wanting to get it all cleared up because you DO HAVE A CONSCIENCE, just tell these collectors that you will pay... all they want is a commitment.  Remember, it is not the other person on the phone that you owe, they are just like you and me... humans who have a job that need to feed themselves and their families.

Life happens people.  Sometimes you're up and sometimes your down but, as a previous skip tracer listening to the collectors, it was so retarded, people up in their necks in debt with no more credit and the collectors urging them to go get a loan and it is only so they can make their bonus.  You wanna talk about stupid, how about a credit card company continuing to grant more and more funds to persons $100000 already in debt.  Here is something you may not know... the credit card companies DO NOT want you to pay off you debt every month... they make no money this way!  They help create the problem and have no heart nor compassion when their island in the Pacific doesn't get paid for.  If you cannot see that people in this kind of debt become almost inhuman to themselves or to others and that YOU, YES YOU, yourself could very easily be the next victim of debt... then You're Blind and your reward will be a large as the compassion you give others... small and insignificant!

I've been receiving such tedious calls for six months or so, my home phone number was changed,
and yet the calls continues many times per day from this number L1-888-725-9898. No words, no sounds whatsoever, jut a bunch of  calls night and day...

They can not issue you a penalty fee on unpaid "claims". A debtor is not obligated to pay any more beyond the original amount of the debt unless ordered to do so by a small claims court. Go back to work. There's innocent people you have yet to bother today.

People: To make the calls stop, simply tell them they can only contact you by mail from that point on, and then the calls MUST stop or they face fines themselves. And if any collections agent ever refuses to give you their personal registration number as listed in the collections act, they themselves face fines.

If they call before or after the allowed times, and you have record of this, they face fines.

If they use abusive and derogatory language, they face fines.

Don't let these people bully you.

AND...if you DO have bills that you are having a problem paying, please contact a credit counsellor. They can and will help you. As soon as you are in counselling, ALL ATTEMPTS TO COLLECT FROM YOU PERSONALLY MUST STOP. You are not even allowed to talk to them after that point, and they are not allowed to contact you. The counsellor with work with both parties to help everyone involved.

I called back 780.409.1322 which keeps calling my work cell which isn't even in my name and the jerk finally coughed up that they are TCR but won't say what kind of company they are.

TCR IS a company that buys debts from places like bell ect .... Canadian law states that a company has 2 years to recover debts owing to them that are delinquent .... Unless you admit on the phone or other ways that you owe the money ... Then it starts all over and they then have 2 years to collect. Your best to not admit to owing anything ... Tell them u have no idea what they are talking about and hang up

I never had any account with Amex and I don't even have their credit card or contract with them. And when I asked them about who they are or why are they calling me. They told me is confidential
