I also keep getting calls from this "Jerry Metzger" from a local phone number of 770 648-2970 in the state of Georgia asking me to call 877 367-4556.  Just wondering what local phone number you are getting a call from.  Obviously this is a "scammer" call that is a recording.

I keep getting phone calls from a Jerry Metzger I'd better call this phone number 888 371-7446 that it's urgent and I need to call today.  I owe no one nothing.  Very Annoying Calls.

you are the loser and a terrorist if you have any relation to this company. These fake debt collectors is a real serious issue in the country and they are trying to scare innocent victims out of 100's, many 1000's of dollars. If I end up catching any of them,  they will have a serious situation on their hands and they will be glad they went to jail instead of dealing with me.

Nice to see you all band together to try and collect money no one owes.  Hopefully someone calls you to collect a debt you don't owe either so you can see how this feels.  Anyways have a long miserable life.

Best way to deal with these jerks is the formally request an affidavit of indebtedness. Theyre just another s*** show that buys old debt and under the FDCPA they have to produce proof that they can collect on it. Make sure to fax or send your request certified mail your formally. Keep your records,  because when they don't give you proof in writing you're done. You're not going to be sued, garnished or anything else threatened.

I received a call from a live agent yesterday stating that they received a fax with my name and social security number and I had until the end of the day to contact them for this urgent matter. Of course I didnt return the call then this morning I got the same recording with the name "Jerry Metzger" from a local number and requesting that I press "1" to speak with him now or return the call @  888-736-1286

Keep getting an automated message from Jerry Metzger looking for ashley something or the other and that they have tried several times to call regarding this matter. They left the 888-736-1286 number and have an option to talk to someone by pressing 1 but when you do it gives hold music and hangs up. I have called this number back repeatedly and let them know that no one by the name ashley lives here and to take us off of the call list. I hadn't gotten any calls for quite some time and now they are starting up again. I hate this and would love for them to be exposed if this is some scam, it's getting old already!

I received a telephone call from this number, they left no message. I have had a scam caller before and as soon as they tell me there will be legal action or whatever, I tell them that's fine, serve the papers and  I will give it to my attorney. They are trying to get you to send them money by using these tactics. If it is real they need to inform you that this is from a debt collector, etc.

I'd be prouder to be unemployed than to make a living scamming innocent victims by extorting money out of them over non-existent debts.

Instead of trying to get you friend to pretend to be a lawyer or typing on this thread...Why don't you try to get a job (having not worked in two years is not anything to bragg about) and then you can make good on your financial obligations. Ok, so I started getting these phone calls several months ago. They first come from a number, 1-225-366-8091. First it was a Barry Wesker, telling me he had an important message to discuss with me. Now it's Marie Smith(yeah, I believe that one), and she's telling me that if they don't hear back from me, they will assume I have forfeited my rights and I will be pursued to the fullest extent of the law. Oh, they say they have a case pending against me, and that she ran an asset notice against my name, social and even said she's verified my place of employment. That's funny since I haven't worked in 2 years. When I'm not getting the 225 numbers, it's usually a private number, that just started last week. I don't want to answer and stir up a hornets nest, so I've blocked them, but it still goes straight to voicemail. I have put an identity lock on my credit report, and none of these shysters are on my report. I have a good mind to have a friend call and act as my attorney, but from what I've read, it's best to just keep ignoring them.

Received a call today from Annie Davis stating, they are going to file a case number and prosecute to the full extent of the law if I don't call back in 24 hours.  Original call came from 214-736-0072.

Her message stated to call 888-736-1287.

Or they can file bankruptcy and then everyone loses. Perhaps you should try to exercise a little restraint...

None of these so called debt collection places would exist if people would just ignore them and don't believe a word they say.They don't have the resources or written documentation to sue . If they did they wouldn't call people for months or years trying to b***s*** them.All they have are lists of names and phone numbers and amounts people supposedly owe on payday loans. That they probably paid another scam company $10.00 for. Thats why people get calls for years from different so called collectors about the same account.The burden of proof in court is on these so called collectors and they need far more written documentation to prove a debt valid than someones name on a list .  There is nothing on my credit report from this outfit, never recieved anything in writing from them yet they call out of the blue and rant about case numbers and actions against name and social security number.I can't believe anyone would actually fall for this crap and pay them a dime.

Reported this agency to the Internet Crime Complaint Center. I intend to forward copies of the complaint to the Florida Attorney General's Office and the Pennsylvania Attorney General.

Rec'd typical message for a loan supposedly taken out years ago. He claimed to be ready to file suit in 24 hours and will call repeatedly until I pay up. Spoke to someone at the number named Mike and I advised them to go ahead and file paperwork because I'd see him in court and dispute the matter and file a counterclaim for harassment. He then h/u.

The caller ID arrives with a local area code, I don't answer calls not in my contact list, but he says 888-736-1286 is the callback number.

Ken, a PDF with a name, part of an SSN and the company is not proof of debt. Your company buys bogus old PDL information and try to contact good people and scare them into paying for debt that either A. was paid off years ago, b. You do not own or C. can't provide proof there was an actual loan provided. Once you fall for it once, your name must get on a list and the calls start coming in all over the place. I fell for it once, never again.

I have talked to many (15+) of these so called "debt collectors" and all have the same story, paperwork to deliver, show up at my place of work or residence, and none have shown up and have not been able to supply the proof of debt or actually bring me to court. I've dealt with this for a year now with nothing from any of these companies. Now I have a lawyer involved and hoping to bring these companies to court and collect $1000 from each for this type of harassment.

No, most of the people on this site are here because some low-life has mistaken them for fools. They're here, that proves they're not. You're here, that proves you're one of the low-lifes that's not happy about people catching on to your scams.

my phone was shut off, so i dont know the number that came in, but the voicemail they left,said to call back at this number. said it was JJ Ellis and he gave me a case number, and said for me to call back to discuss a matter that hopefully could be resolved over the phone. he said state law in the state of illinois requires that he call me. he didnt call me by my full name like most do either. he said my shortened name which i thought was odd.. so ur saying this isnt real and i shouldnttt call them back?

How much did they pay you to defend these CONN artists dear?  On my end I am already started procedures to SUE THEM for every penny I can ... TRUST me takes a conn to know a conn"  but
I am waiting patiently for the next call as I am recording all.  It will only help to make my case.

I have had perfect credit, but you know there is always a rotten apple...so is payback time...and believe me
is not gonna be pretty.  Also a note to everyone REPORT these people to the FDIC and your local authorities.  To put an end to it.

This number keeps calling me as well. "Miss Williams" was extremely rude when I explained to her that I did not take out a "pay-day loan" anywhere.  The information she gave me was from June of 2006, something I have no idea of what shes talking about. She says they are sending me a court date but wont send me any info of the debt proir to court.  Well, I have been in the business of fixing customers bad credit and keeping them on track with their bills for about 11 years now.  So I guess I have to fight these people as well.

Ive recd threatening calls at my place of work and now i'm getting angry...this has got to stop....

You think some agency just pulled your information out of nowhere. COME ON. There's no scam. It's a collection attempt. The only scam is your attempt to post online rather than acknowledge your debt and handle it accordingly.
