By all means, if you owe a debt pay it. It won't matter though. These people are 3rd rate debt collectors. They are, and always will remain, Scum-bags. You don't get to be a debt collector through hard work. A debt collector is a person who is so low on the Totem pole that he can't get a job doing anything else. He's a rodent running on a tread mill, his energy being used to enrich his owner. He's going nowhere fast, with nowhere else to go.
Now run on down to the Thrift store pal. Spend that commision check on a new second-hand pair of Dockers & a nice (only slightly stained) business shirt. You'll be the hit of the boiler-room. Who knows, maybe you'll even get lucky with that crack-head in the next cubicle. Probably not though. Even crack-heads can do better than a debt collector.
Pray for a better life next time around Scum-bag. You've screwed the pooch on this one.

Maybe if FSA could manage to avoid breaking the law with every call and letter you wouldn't be here to insult total strangers. Furthermore, I *know* what the FDCPA says. Apparently your pals at the Indian call center don't.

And LEGALLY they can't disclose anything until the person knows for certin they are speaking with the correct party. Otherwise its 3rd party disclosure and they can get sue.

Maybe if you would pay your debt before it gets to collections you wouldn't think they are such "scumbags"

they keep calling ... everyday... and they are just rude and will never say what it is regarding just that I have to pay etc etc... very much like everyone else

I got a message from 888-741-8896 saying to call them about a job opening I applied for. Wow! they mustve gotten my number off of a jobsearch website and are now willing to hustle the jobless. First thing iI did was google the number though...glad I did

called my work place and left a message for me with file number. I returned call and they did not know what I was talking about.

Called left a message with my daughter.  Said his name was Mr. Polina (sp?) and asked her to have me call back right away as it was URGENT.  Gave a file # and this 888 #.  I called and they asked who they were speaking with.  After saying my first name, I stopped and asked who I was speaking with.  They would only say First Source (would not give a personal name).  I asked what First Source was.  He said that "we do lots of things from this office.  Due to federal regulations, we cannot disclose information to third parties."  Then, they asked for Ann Julie - we've never heard of this person and as far as I know, no one by that name ever lived in this house.  He said they would remove our number.  Really weird; I will report again if called.

This is a collection agency.  They call anyone with the same name as the bad debtor they are working on.  They harrass you.  If you are not the person they are looking for, ignore them, do not give them any information.  They even have the nerve to ask you for your social security number saying they want to make sure you are not who they are looking for and this is the only way to clear your name!

You know what?  Capping gets you NO WHERE!  If you are a disgruntled debt collector, you are entitled to an opinion however calling ALL debtors deadbeats is just plain WRONG.

You collectors frequently BULLY people into making payments that they simply CANNOT to do just to stop your calling.  I agree that it isn't considered harassment when one is called by a debt collector but they do work in a harassing way.  Period.

If you treat your contact the same way you have written your statement on here then you deserve to have people be nasty to you.

As far as, to quote you:  debtors are "Robbing a Bank", while that statement does have some truth to it, Banks on the other hand are LOAN SHARKING.  Face it, the bank has it made no matter what.  30% interest because one is late on ONE payment is just plainly that: LOAN SHARKING.  Banks WANT people in debt so they make a tidy profit.  They were the boneheads who got SOME, not ALL of the economy the way it is today.

If you ever contacted me and talked to me in the way you did here, I'd IMMEDIATELY contact your supervisor.

I have news for you Mr. MBA, that is if you truly have one, I DO pay ALL of my bills on time and I also work full time.  I suspect that YOU are the one sitting on the couch collecting MY hard earned tax money or the finance charges on my bills.  I never place blame for something I have done.  I TAKE CARE OF THE PROBLEM, unlike YOU who adds to hostility.

What you typed wasn't a typo, that was a true misspelling and a true sign of your ignorance also a sign that you are one of those people that makes other collectors look bad.  Maybe YOU should find other employment, but then again, with an attitude like you have they wouldn't hire you so I see YOU bumming on the street.  I also suspect that YOU are in debt yourself and take your anger out on others because of the position YOU are in.

I am being harassed from an agency called FirstSource Advantage. I don't know who they are nor who they represent. I tried to send them a "cease and desist" e mail but the e mail address comes up as illegal.  Beware of a forceful conniver who goes by the dubious name "Christian". Don't give out any information. Your own creditors should send you the issue personally in writing.  Remember there is only a one letter difference between scam and scum

This number was posted on google as a mcafee help desk.  I called the number and it was scareware!  The guy on the line had an Indian accent and said my compouter was infected by several hackers and to fix it was going to cost me $300.00 dollars.  I said no way, and he got very rude and insisted I pay.  I just hung up.  I went back to google an hour or so later and the link was no longer there!!

"Gabriel Gonzales" left a message twice from this number telling  D. VanBuren that he needs to call this number. He was from" !st Choice Advantage and he should refer to file # 16230830.  It was an important matter. "   No one by that name has EVER lived at this address.  When I called to tell them that they had the wrong number, he asked for my phone number which( I stupidly gave him )so he can take my phone number out of their records.  Then he wanted me to hold while he did this.  I hung up thinking something did not sound right. So that is when I googled their number and found all the above information.   This better not be one of those calls where they charge you thousands of dollars for a minute!!!

Thgese folks are bottom feeder collections.
They try to collect on old debts and uncollectables after original owener has written them off, and buy them at pennys on the dollar.

i hung up on her when she insulted me and then called back the number and was never connected to a manager? is this a scam operation? what is the deal?

My girlfriend also got unknown call at about 1pm today June 23, 2009 the vm also left the number 1-888-741-8896 with a case # they left a VM from a rude lady named brenda saying to call back before 9 pm eastern time. my gf said the only people she had owed money to was "BEST BUY" but she had worked out a payment plan with them around the 27 or 28th of may....

I sure hope this helps someone out. I'm calling the Bank in the morning to make sure no other automatic withdrawls come out of the account.

My daughter was called by a Greg Krueger to square up with a bill. He was from a collection agency. She defaulted in her JC Penny's account and it had been turned over to this agency, if she wanted to get some of the late fees removed she needed to give them a certain amount in full and it would satisfy her account balance.  She had told them she couldn't do it in one payment and agreed to do it in two payments.  So they took the first half from her account in September and the other half was to be paid in October. They didn't take the second half so she called to see why as she wanted this cleared off her credit report.  They said they tried and the account had insuffient funds , oh no maybe it was an incorrect account number they weren't sure. The first transaction went through and there were suffient funds. So she verified they had the correct number and it still hasn't been taken out.  She tried calling and some rude lady said it takes a while to process.  She tried calling again and it just rings.  Never a answer. She'll have to notify her bank not to let any more go through.

I work at a hospital and carry around an 80s style pager with an obscure phone number.  I've recieved numerous pages to 888-741-8896.  When I called back about the page, the person who answered didn't know why I was paged, but asked my name and to verify the last four digits of my SS#.  I told him that wasn't going to happen and to not call my pager again.

These asshloe got on the internet and found a number to a neighbor across the street. The neighbor gave me the number and I called because the neighbor stated they were trying to get a hold of me.I called and they would not atate there bussiness and asked me if I was a certain person I stated no then they asked who I was and told them none of your bussiness.They then said..." Then how the hell do you think i am going to help you" I politley tod them to "F*** OFF" and the call ended.I typed this number into the computer and see it is a debt collection agency...how brazzen can you be to call strangers to find someone that doesnt exist then get that neighbor to give you a message based on your address! Then be evasive about who they are then they want to know your personal buissiness. Time to call the feds.
