We went to the presentation, it seemed great, even though when you look at the details of our 'free flight and 7-day cruise' we would end up paying more in fees to use it than if we had booked it through a tour company. We did buy it, for $3,000 for two weeks / year plus unlimited Hot Weeks.. we haven't used it and this was 6 months ago... so we'll sell you ours if you want :) It comes with a special addendum that will never allow the yearly rate to go above $250 to keep it active. We tried once to check on prices for a cruise to Alaska and they tried to talk us into going another time of year when it was cheaper. So, it's kind of a glorified discount website.. however, they have GREAT hot weeks deals. We are too busy to use it really.

I just went to the My Summitt presentation last nite and almost bought.  What they presented was a great deal for people like us, but was it too good?  Have you found this company to be reliable?  I found a couple of positive reviews on http://www.sitejabber.com/reviews/www.mysummitt.net#reviews-tab and one negative.  Yours is the only other site I've found that even mentions My Summitt (other than their website which, BTW, is both .net and .com).  Here's what I sent in response to the positive reviews:

"I just saw the presentation and was ready to buy if I just had the security of FL's mandatory three days to change my mind. That would allow me time to do what I'm doing--check them out on line. The last guy I spoke to (leader?) said that I'd have to pay a 15% "restocking fee" if I cancelled in that time. That screamed SCAM to me. They sure didn't have much faith in their product.
If any of you can communicate with non-sales people at the HQ that there is a willing buyer if I can just confirm this company's claims, please have them contact me at pf@wpca.net."

I called the co. this morning in hopes I can find some local folks who are willing to talk to me about the claims of this group.  I hope it's all true, cause they are great deals!  Please email me at my church email (pf@wpca.net) if you have any info that could help me decide.  Thx.  (BTW, their lowest offer for us was @$4700 for the Platinum w/ up to 3 resort weeks/yr.)

Hi I just read your post...we went to a presentation recently and were sort of suckered into buying.  they did keep coming down and we do travel fairly freqeuntly compared to alot of families so we thought it would pay off rather quickly. can you tell me if you have actully traveled by booking vacatins with them?  Our presentation was supossedly by extravagant vacations but Summitt was the parent compnay...mysummitt.net was the website.  any info will be great.

I have checked with my attorney.  As individuals no one will ever be able to win a law suit.  If we decide toi do it as a "Class Action" there's a chance that we might.  Is anyone interested?

This is a great site!  I too got the postcard and I always check with Google search engine to see if anyone has posted information.  If everyone would just check we can avoid these scams.

Thank you to everyone who posted about their experiences. Your comments are greatly appreciated. You helped me avoid being scammed.

I did not receive a phone call but instead received a postcard with wording very similar to what many have stated. Mine was for a trip to Las Vegas from Honolulu. The phone number was 888-295-9251, the company was Frontier Travel, and the postcard featured the United Airlines logo with the word Vacations.

I just called them and reserved a one week 3 bedroom resort 1 mile from Disney World for $329 "out the door" price. I'd say you should re-visit in future. :)

I to have been victimized. Thought about going to small claims court but not sure of the jurisdiction. Washington, Delaware as they are a Delaware corporation or Florida which is where the contract states. Curious as to where you received your judgment. As a side note, their address in Washington is a mail box store.

They operated the same approach here in North Dakota. We signed up and then got lousey survice. The only time we received any services is when we filed a complaint with the BBB of Washington, Alaska and Oregon. Tried to dospute the charges with VISA, but VISA said there is nothing they could do as the contract is actually a License to access a web site. That was never mentioned or explained. If they are operating in interstate commerce, why doesn't the FBI investigate. Maybe a lien should be put on any accounts they have. If there is a class action count me in.

I too "Invested" $4000 with them, and found it NO bargain when checking multiple options with hotels etc. If you can get some attorney to start a class action suit, count me in.

Rob,
We are in the midst of trying to charge back our credit cards, because we were lured in by this Vacation Choices, too.  We were anxious to get out of a time share so when the salesman said, "We will  take your time share off your hands for three thousand and you won't have to continue making payments to RCI" we jumped on it.  To seal the sale, the manager said, "Oh, we only give $700.00 for time shares, but since our salesman said, 'We'll buy it for three thousand dollars,' we'll have to give you that!" What a sales pitch!
We got in touch with our concierge who told us to call only him for any vacation connections in the future. Unfortunately for us, we then went to see our daughter for three weeks in Houston.  Then when we tried to contact the concierge/ the company when we returned, the phone was disconnected.  We found out about the scam and asked for our money back, but they said our rescendiary time had passed!

Yep, I got scammed too. I am in the process of filing a criminal complaint with the Attorney General as well. The more info I find on the web showing others are in the same boat, seems like we should band together and file a class action lawsuit. I've already consulted with two attorneys, and the end result is I need to file with the AG. Already filed a complaint with the BBB which was useless. Still stuck with my time share, and out thousands. I am not giving up until I get my $$ back!

Anyone who has read these posts should avoid the Vacation Choices scam. Cancel your reservations for the presentation. I have experienced it. The promised airline tickets (or other rewards are worthless - pay an additional $400), they are high pressure, and Vacation Choices is unhelpful once they have your money. Cheaper vacation choices are available. AVOID. They are scam professionals and you will not win.

Like a goober, I bought their presentation. Even worse I didn't cancel until the fourth day. I cancelled the credit card transaction but the card company was pretty gutless in dealing with Vacation Choices. When I filed a complaint with the Attorney General, VC got mad and blocked me off their website so I couldn't use the service I've paid for. When I called and asked why the rep couldn't tell me why I got blocked but she unblocked me within 10 minutes.

I cancelled the credit card transaction again, and was denied again. Two months after I paid the credit card transaction, I was blocked off the VC website again. Six phone calls(on hold forever) and three e-mails later, I get a certified letter stating I'm in default, and I needed to pay $459 to reinstate the account.  Not sure how since I've paid all monies due. It wasn't until I went on Facebook that I got their attention and the lady who I talked to said they spent "a lot of man hours" trying to get the money from the CC company and in the contract that would make me in default. Going back and forth for 30 seconds about whether the contract had that detail or not resulted in the lady hanging the phone up.

I have sued VC in small claims court. They did not respond and now I have a default judgement against them.

Actually the phone number on our postcard was 1-888-639-6990 and the airlines listed was United.  Postage permit from Las Vegas, NV.   We were asked to go to Country Inn Suites in Bradenton, FL  at 12:30 on Saturday for a presentation and we would receive 2 free round trip tickets.  The 3 day, 2 night hotel stay was offered if we placed the call within 48 hours.  I am glad I checked this site before going.   Look for  the small print in the lower left hand corner - "this is not a timeshare" and all components are fullfilled by a third party. Certain restrictions apply.  My husband actually wanted to go, waste 90 minutes of our time for free tickets that sounds like you ended up paying for anyway.

We liked what they presented.   We had places we wanted to visit and although they said they could get us there, they could not. Some places had two year waiting lists On one Condo that we had stayed, They quoted almost 3 times higher then we could get it for ourselves.  As for  those get aways?  The hotel in Orlando had 9 out of 10 bad reviews. Beyond that, Just try to talk to a live person beyond the first call. We spent 5 hours waiting on our day off. On line they said they would call back right away. Never happened. When we tried for the 5th time they treated us like they  had no idea who we were. (This was on line chat because we never got any person live. I don't know about you, but we don't have that kind of time to just get a contact going.  Thank goodness our state has a 3 day get out of contract law. You will want to use this right after you are through here!

I got a postcard like many of you. Called the number and it is Vacation Choices. The offer on the card is for Touchpad Tablet PC. I don't mind sitting through 90 minutes for a tablet (even a cheap one), but, not sure if they actually give them out.  Does anyone have any experience with the tablets?

We went to the presentation today.  Very professional, courteous, informative.  Of course, the deal kept changing the more we said no thank you...got down to a price we were willing to consider, certainly much less than the amounts I'm seeing here.  Even using the membership once a year will save money over booking ourselves, and I'm a savvy travel shopper on the web.  Much more savings for using even local quick getaway option.  Don't assume it's a scam until you do your DUE DILIGENCE in other places than this type of "scam site."

I fell for the scam. I was so tired of timeshare and the ever increasing maintance fees that this company sounded good to my ears at the time. I am in the process of gathering info and then presenting all of this to attorney.

Except they are not giving away 2 free tickets to Hawaii.  The "voucher" they give us at the end of the 90-minute presentation has fine print saying "not good for tickets to Hawaii or Alaska".  How can they get away with this?

We also got "suckered" in to this scam.  I now have the name & address of the company President in Philadelphia.  The V.P. in Lacey, WA and the corporate attorney in Lacey, WA..  I will start sending letters to each of them as well as the Attorney General & the BBB in each of their respective states.  I will post anything that I get back from any of these letters.

Got a card that had a picture of a plane flying off into the sunset on the front (this made me laugh) and said "fly away ESCAPE". It also had "AirTran" and "Hawaiiain Airlines" at the bottom. When I flipped the card over, it had the same logos that were on the front and below that said:

Congratulations! You have been selected to receive
2 Round Trip Airfares to Honolulu, Hawaii
or most international airports in the United States.
CALL WITHIN 48 HOURS AND YOU WILL ALSO RECEIVE A BONUS
3 DAY 2 NIGHT HOTEL STAY!
WE HAVE BEEN TRYING TO CONTACT YOU! (THIS IS NOT A TIMESHARE OR LAND SALE OFFER)
To claim this special offer, simply call 1-888-404-7668

After reading this multicolored, half capitalized, half-bold BS, there was also a disclaimer noting that "certain restrictions apply, call for details" It also said that they were in no way affiliated with AirTran or Hawaiian Airlines, but that they were a major supplier. There was no company name any where on the card. It came from Sacramento, CA Permit NO. 1684. Idk if that's relevant.

I wondered how much money they waste on cards like these, and realized that all it takes is one sucker to buy into this nonsense and they can shoot out 1000's more. DON'T FALL FOR IT.
