Demand a legitimate, physical mailing address in which to send a cease communication letter VIA certified mail with return receipt requested. If they refuse, let them know you will be seeking legal counsel who will get it for you and file a lawsuit for harassment.

I just received a call from a Garret and Associates Firm it said on the voicemail. The number is 201-561-2204. It's from Tuscaloosa Alabama. I'm calling the better business bureau on these people. They keep calling me for the wrong person and then try to ask me for my info. These people are not legit.

I just recieved a call from the 205 number at my work for the person that used to have my position some time ago. It was an automated call that left a phone number to call back and a complaint #.   I called the 1-888 number to let them know the person was no longer available at the number they called but then go curious... and found it was a scam thanks to this site :)  I let my company know so they can do whatever needs to be done to make sure someone else doesn't get this call, if they can.

I just got a call from the same number at my work!!!! Thank goodness I answered with a recording divulging that I owe money etc.  If my boss would have answered I would have been mortified!!!! I owe nothing to anyone. In fact I just bought my first home cause my credit is stellar. What can we do to stop these people?!?!? This is criminal!!!!

I do owe some money to a couple of places but I know now that they are trying to scam me and the good part is that I do have legal counsel and he is getting this phone number and information and he will deal with it and I hope it will help stop this for all of the rest of you people on here!! again thanks fort the information and God bless the you and the internet !!!!!!!! They also gave me a case number that I was to be in and it is a complaint number  63608....... Good luck to them in getting money out of a dried turnip!!!!! This all when my wife has cancer and dealing with it on top of everything else and now this..... will up date when I find out more from my legal counsel.........

Ignore them it's a total scam.  I have surfed a few pages and they all agree.  They say they are trying to reach a pretty garbled name but it's not mine!  Several people have called them and been pressured to pay money without any proof of debt.  They called me in Australia!  Good luck with the extradition for your non existent debt!

Same call to me the past couple days via my Google Voice number. But the name of the person they're looking for isn't my name at all. And I don't owe anyone any money for anything now or anytime in the past. Appreciate being able to read up here on what's going on with these calls.

BTW, on the voicemail they left on my Google Voice line, they didn't mention the name of any business entity as being the caller. Just left the 888 number to call back. And the call showed as having originated from (205) 561-2204.

I just got a call from the same guy demanding that I pay off a Master Card balance dating back to 2007 for a business that I owned.  I closed the business in 2006 and at no time did I ever have a credit card associated to the business.  Wished him luck and told him to never call back.  What a jacka%*!

I received a call today & they wanted me or my lawyer to return their call regarding a legal complaint. Thanks to all of the things I've read on this website, I now know it is a scam!!

Same thing. This company "Garrett & Assoc" from 888-778-0488 keeps calling, several times a day with a claim reference # for legal action. I've called to have my number removed, they said they would remove, then keep calling. They are Bogus, the name of the person they say they are looking for is Bogus, and it's one giant pain in the a** to keep hearing this voice mail message.

I got a from this 205 number so I thought this will be fun. I heard the pitch about a loan etc. So I told them to not call me and I hung up. Well they called again about 5 minutes later and I tore into them. They hung up. So I called back again and again and again and again till they said I was playing on the phone and they had to work and for me to leave them alone. Have not heard back. I luv messing with these types of folks.

I got a call from 888-778-0488 but it was a recording from a man telling me to call him or have my attorney call him in reference to a claim number turned in to them. He did say on the recording that he was with Garrett & Assoc Firm. Got another call from the same 205-561-2204. They are calling me at work and most of the time it is showing up as a Wireless Caller coming in.

I received a call from this David Robinson at Garrett Associates . I pressed him to email me what he said I owed and he got rude and demanded I give him my debit card number . Pressing me " Are you going to answer your phone in 30 minutes" bla bla bla. So they send me this fabricated demand . Their web site is supposedly www.garrettandassociatesfirm.com The address does not seem to be real they give on there . He then called me back when I was in the car with my husband and I put him on speaker phone and told him that I prefer to settle in court and he started calling me a sXXt , a bXXh , a criminal, a fraudster and whatever else. My husband let him have it . When I got home I emailed them a demand of debt verification and a cease and desist. They have not called me back. He almost flipped out when I started to correct him as he kept saying " I am AKSING you", how ghetto is that. I told him no  it is pronounced ASKING , Like A** which you are and KING which you are not . We were having a good laugh about them. If he calls  again my cousin Joey from New York will give him a call and tell him what is on the agenda next.

I just got the same call from 205-561-2204 at my job. This is the second time and I did call my attorney with the name of the person who called before and gave them the number. I am tire of these people and which something could be done. It is very annoying. Is there anything that can be done?

Just got a call from 205-561-2204.  I listened to the message and pressed 0 to talk to someone and the call hung up.  I called the 888-778-0488 and David Robinson answered the phone.  I told him I never took out any sort of loan, which I haven't, and I wanted proof of the debt.  He said the burden of proof was on ME to prove I didn't owe the debt lol.  Yeah, I told him to have fun at court and to make sure I'm served so I can show up and dispute the debt to the judge directly and he hung up on me.  Whatever.  I AM a debt collector.  I work for a LARGE credit card company.  I know the law very well.  If I didn't, I wouldn't have a job!

Forgot to mention that the call back number Mr. Dorsey gave me was the 1-888-778-0488 #.

Received a call from 704-612-5237 from a Christoper Dorsey stating that he is w/Garrett and Associates and they are a litigation law firm. He wanted me to set up a payment plan (and, for my convenience, they can post-date a check!) over the phone. I requested a letter of debt validation and certification of the company, which he refused to give me. So, I dug.

Garrett & Associates is a arbitration and mediation firm coming out of Birmingham, Alabama. I contacted their offices @ (205) 313-9153. Karen, who was so awesome and nice, never heard of Christopher Dorsey. I gave her the numbers that Mr. Dorsey was calling from and she, in turn, called them. They then said they were Garrett, Baretta, and Assoc but people call them Garrett & Assoc. Karen said she told them that she is Garrett & Assoc and the woman from the scam co. hung up.

Claimed my son (! they are NOT allowed to talk about credit or debt to anyone other than the actual person!!!) will go to jail if I/he does not pay $788.20. Then said if paid today, $688.

I called the # on a Saturday and the voice mail says "garret & associates".  I'm pretty sure it's a debt collector also.

Does anyone recogize this number (888-778-0488)P? They say PI'm mentioned in a complaint, but I'm 99% sure it's a collection agency. They garble the company's name.

its all a scam-dont worry about it. they are just trying to get money out of you by using scare tactics and just tell them its not going to work or just dont call them back. they are scum and scammers!!!

I received a call from a Morgan Armstrong from this number at my home, and a random person in my office received the same call for me at their desk. She said the same thing stated in the messages you all have wrote. Not sure what to do? I don't want to call them back to do all the scams that are taking place.

Received a call from this telephone # stating they needed me to give them my debit card info for a check fraud I committed.  I asked them for a validation of debt, the could not provide me with any info.  I told them I plan to put in complaint with the attorney general office, the hung up.
