It is illegal for them to pull your credit report with out your consent.  You can sue them for 1K each time they pull your credit report.

And you need to stop being a shill.  If people owe a debt, then per the FDCPA, the callers must PROVE it in writing - otherwise, they owe NOTHING!

They need to send a letter to them from Fair Trade Consumer practice.

This company does not send out a valid letter and summons are sent by court are from a court deputy.  Not a summons service from the collection agency

They do not own the debt.  They are illegally pulling credit reports and finding old debts.  contacting the person on the credit report and harassing them.  If you pay them the debt is not taken off your credit report nor is the debt getting paid to the correct company.  Don't fall for this scam.  A legitimate collection agency will provide you with documents of your debt.
a collection agency can not send a summons to you only if they file in court can a summons be issued.

about 3 months ago I got a message from work stating a process server called: MICHAEL KING 888-779-8673. I called him back and he said I was going to get served about a case for CASHCALL (which was just fine because the case he was referring to was actually settled 2 years previously) I waited and waited.. never got served. (big surprise) just last week I get another message at work from a ROBERT DUKE 888-215-0453.  I called him back and the conversation was crazy!!  calling me a loser who doesn't pay my bills, basically running down my credit report (which was the scary part, knowing this stranger has all my personal info)  yelling at me about everybody I owe and how I'm just skating thru life and not paying for anything.  Telling me that the call was recorded and I was making terroristic threats to him. (LOL.. not 1 threat came across on MY end) I admit I was very upset the way this 'man' was talking to me but never made a threat.  Then he said he would make a deal.. "give us $1000 and its settled.  HA!  I DON'T THINK SO!  I'm still doing research and trying to get to the bottom of this but after reading the previous complaints sounds like the ultimate scam.  PROCESS SERVERS DO NOT WARN YOU THEY ARE COMING!! If Mr. Duke was the awesome head lawyer that he claims to be, he should know this!!

They are scammers trying to scare people into paying bogus debts - report them to the FTC and also to your Attorney General's office for starters.

If it was a legitimate debt, they would send you proof via a debt validation letter in the mail.  So you can be pretty sure that they are just scammers trying to scare people into paying bogus debts!

Yes, they can, but legitimate companies will send you a debt validation letter.  If they won't or can't, then you can be sure they are scammers!

I received a couple of calls from this number today.  The called said his name was Mr. Jacobs and that he was  processor for Nationwide & Associates.  He was asking for Mara Thompson.  He claims that this person gave my name as a family member and that papers needed to be served to this person.   When I told him that I do not know this person, he became very aggressive and loud.  Threatening to report me as NOT WANTING TO COOPERATE.  He knew my full name, address and my husband's name.  He kept insisting that I know this Mara Thompson who also has names like Venegas and Perez.  
Does anyone know what is the purpose of these calls?  What are they trying to get from me?

We told them that we were going to trace the debt to see if I really owe money to them and they have not called me, my job or my parents house anymore!

These people have been bothering me and my parents for years. They've threaten to throw me in jail. A few days ago they found out where I work, called my job and were trying to contact the HR department to deduct wage garnishments from my paychecks with out a court order. I want to  know if anyone has been served with papers, too. My husband and I called them and the same thing happened, they answered with "Corporate offices", they will not let any information out about themselves but, they wanted to know everything about us. They kept saying that they are taking me to court. I looked myself up in the county that I live in. There's no case action or warrants for my arrest. There's none in surrounding counties as well. The guy said that I would have to appear in court in San Bernadino California. I live in Florida and always have. They said if I didn't show I would go to jail. I looked myself up in that county in California and there's nothing. I've been reading articles and seeking legal advice. There is a lot of evidence that this is a scam. Real Debt collectors can't threaten to toss you in jail or file a case in a different state. I honestly think that nothing was filed on me at all. It's all to fishy.

Has anyone actually ever been served?  I know someone who got a call at work from this phone number and they said they were sending out process servers unless he called this number.  But when you call the number, the people answering it say it's an answering service for "Corporate Office".  When my friend asked "Corporate Office of What?"  they wouldn't answer him.

They told my friend it was a debt-collector from Cash Call and threatened him with a lot of legal actions they were going to do unless he paid.  They also told him to pay with a pre-paid credit card.  When my friend started thinking about it, he was thinking this whole company (and what company is it by the way) is a scam.  Do you know the name of the company who is trying to collect?

i also was contacted a few weeks ago an did some research an come to find out they did own the acc. i didnt want to pay but they gave me such a great pay off i had no choice. so i paid it an the sent me a paid in full later. feels good. if u spent the money u cant be mad an call it a scam. i didnt wanna pay but it was my bill. yes they can take u to court

The man that called me from that (2) one claim to own the company Robert Duke- Vince Warner is the supposed to be the server, the company is called LAFG 3045 S. Archibald H221 Ontario, CA 91761 they
are call me about cash call- I paid cash call through another company-- Mr Duke says I was scammed and that he is real and legal--very rude man- likes to use scare tactics

And if they don't have title to a legitimate debt..it's not! Shall we guess what the case is here?
Why bother, we can all see how this outfit's running. Sad thing is, they're not worth squat. Nothing to legally pursue. You can't squeeze blood out of a rock. And you can't sue money out of a flat broke bogus debt collection firm.

Oh yeah forgot to mention that when he hung up on me and I called back just find out what was going on Mr Buck said if I called back he was going to press harassment chargers. Wow sure wish I could turn the table on them for calling me,my friends and work to tell me I owe thousands of dollars and iam going ti jail but not giving me any info about anything!!! If there is a houres's behind award,these guys earned it.
When they hang up on you call back and tell them that under the fair det collection practices act that you want a copy of the det that they are trying to get from you. If they hang up on you and don't send it to you and they are a real company it will get held agents them if a court of law,they have to present this! If they get huffy it's probably a scam. In my case I hope it isn't cause when I prove that we are not at fault and don't owe anything I'am going to sue them for harassment,that's if they actually have an address and it's not some lame dude who lives with his mom.

This company is calling the home of an elderly couple harassingthem. This people I don' t know but their calling them daily. This company has an associate Michael King with no sensr of customer service only attitude. All he said he has legal docunents.

Caller came in from this company stating that I owe money but would not give me any information about their company. He also stated that I was going to go to jail and making threats of my character, calling me PATHETIC!!! I WANT THESE CALLS TO STOP!!!

Unfortunately, they can. These types of companies are civil litigators who companies like Cashcall goto as a last resort after attempting to recover funds through dilinquent through conventional means. They basically take people to court over large oustanding debts. You're probably better off not taking loans from places like Cashcall in the first place, because if you can't pay it back, chances are someone like these guys will come after you. They can even garnish your wages if the judge gives them authorization.

Yea this number keeps calling me. Didn't say who the company was or any thing. I asked if it was a bill & for what? All he says is their is legal papers coming to my home & wanted to make sure I was here. I told him yea I'm here but what is this bill of. Still wouldn't tell me.. Any body know who this is & if they can do that?

this place called me today at work said they was gonna serve court docs for cashcall sorry i already paid cash call but they was looking at my credit report i dont think that is leagal is it
