I was charged $15.99

When I called the number, A computer generated female voice prompted me with these options...

Welcome if you don't recognize the transaction in bank statement, press 1
for customer service, press 2
To leave Voice mail, press 3

If you press 1... The computer asks for you last 6 digits of your card number to locate your account... i didn't try that!!! :D

I first tried to talk to customer service... however it says all are busy, however.... no one ever will talk to you... it asks you to leave a voice mail... all customer service reps are busy.

if you leave a voice mail... they don't get back either.


reported it to the bank... there investigating the charge.

I got this message on my bank statement... COMPUTER SOFTWACOMPUTER S 888-779-8864.  I called it and it was asking for my last 6 digits of my credit card... I did it... and they said that they were going to refund my money but gave me yesterday's date... so I called the bank and had my debit card changed.... Has anyone actually received their money back yet on this?

Charges showed up on my Wells Fargo debit today as 'COMPUTER SOFTWARE 888-779-8864'.  Haven't received any actual calls from this number.  When I googled it, something about Summit County & Breckenride Colorado also came up - I spent a few hours yesterday searching for Summit County and Colorado lodging/vacation ideas.  Does this ring a bell with anyone else?

wells fargo debit card/checking acct. pre auth $1.00 and $15.99 charge. fraudulent. called the number and left a message. no response.

Just checked my bank account and had the same charges for $15.99. Called and gave my 6 digit debit as stated above and the automated  answering sevice said my account will be credited on 8/17 with $15.99. Gotta keep on your toes out there folks. Going to have my bank change my debit card tomorrow!!

called the number back 888-779-8864  they do ask for the last 6 digits of ur credit card that u used and at first didn't want to give it but then when they try to connect u to a customer service person they never answer. I decided what the heck since I am going to close this account anyways so I did give the last 6 digits of the card that they charged and they found the transaction and within seconds it was refunded to my debit account.  But once they give back all the charges u should still go close the card cause it has been compromised!

Had the same thing happen to my debit card to day. COMPUTER SOFTWARE 888-779-8864 AZ $15.99 was charged today and has a pending $1 pre auth for same company. My bank closed my debit card, opened an investigation and is sending me a new debit card. Anyone have any new answers yet?

Had the exact same issue.  I have two car loans out from Wells Fargo and I do not use Credit Union.  Very shady stuff.  My bank is going to investigate.

Looks like a similar CC situation with another 800 number posted here regarding "Computer Software" as listed on a CC or Debit Card. That other number is 800-346-8752 and those reporting listed the charge as $14.90 and some had a $1.00 hold.

No call, but an unauthorized charge for $15.99 and a hold for $1.00 showed up on my CC on July 28, 2011 by "Computer Software". I do buy some computer stuff online so VISA did not catch it but I did in checking my account.

The associated phone number gets you an automated response that says something like "if you have a question about your credit card bill, please press one" but when you do that they want you to enter the last six digits of your CC number. So I called back and pressed two for CS and got a message saying "all our CS representitives are busy, we'll be with you as soon as possible" or similar. After that repeats several times, it asks you to leave a callback number.

Contacted my card issuer, card was cancelled, charge disputed and a new card ordered.
Again, this is exactly the same company "name" and tactics used in another thread here, just the amounts and phone number are different.

I noticed this company charged my debit card this morning for $1.00 and then $19.99. I called the company and all I received was a recording saying "If you do not recognize this charge on your bank statment to leave a message." The bank won't allow me to dispute the transaction until it has "hard" posted but that I would be given my funds back immediately. Does anyone know what kind of services this company provides or merchandise they sell??? I am very careful with my information, so am very confused at how this happened...

This exact same thing appeared on my credit card.  Called bank and they opened a fraud investigation and credited me for the 15.99.  Wasn't much money and I guess the crook hoped I wouldn't notice.

888-779-8864 Computer Software.  I also got this fraudulent charge on my credit card.  I called the number and it prompted me to enter the last 6 digits of my credit card number (which I did not do, of course).  I called the credit card company and reported the fraud.  They immediately credited me and said they would investigate.
