Hello. My name is Gary with SkyCare EHR. I have read the posts on this site and I would like the chance correct some misrepresentations.

SkyCare is certified as a Stage 2 Meaningful Use EHR solution. This is from the government certification body known as the Office of National Coordinator, or ONC.

Part of the 2009 ARRA provision includes stimulus reimbursement money for Medicare and Medicaid doctors who bill with CMS and choose to adopt an electronic health record solution, also known as an EHR. In essence, the government is asking doctors to adopt a certified EHR solution, and in consideration for this, CMS is providing stimulus money, up to $63,750, to offset these costs. This money is available for a limited time.  After that, for doctors who have not chosen an EHR, CMS will impose fines with a percentage reduction in billable revenue, beginning in 2015, and increasing each year in the form of reduced payments. The details of this program can be found at the government website www.cms.gov.

SkyCare does, in fact, work directly with CMS. At no time do we represent our company as being that government agency. But, just like a CPA working with the IRS to ensure someone is in compliance with those regulations, SkyCare works with CMS to ensure our doctors meet all the requirements of CMS to successfully remain in compliance and receive the maximum amount of their stimulus reimbursement funds.

It is a complex process, and we find that CMS is not very forthcoming with easily understood information about this program. This is why a great many doctors fail to receive their stimulus funds in their first year of attestation. We also find that the general confusion about this program leads some to have that same confusion about the services we offer. It is unfortunate that the complexity of this government program leads to confusion with the details. We do our best to be available and make the process as easy as possible.

Our original company, PlatinumMD (not platinum emr, which is a different organization) changed its name in 2013 when we were acquired by a much larger EHR company. The new name, SkyCare, reflects that change. We are very much in business and did not declare bankruptcy.

As the marketing manager with SkyCare, I am more than happy to be available to speak with anyone here, who has any question about what we offer, or has any comment about our services. We are located in South California and can be reached during business hours at 888-789-0971, ext 201. You?ll also find us at www.SkyCareEHR.com. Please, feel free to call at any time.

I used to work for this company and I must say all this statement is true. They are a small EHR wannabe company who wants to make a name at the doctors expense.  Their management team are all low class crooks. They will make you belive you are a part of something big but all they do is blow smoke up your a**.

This company is a joke !!

My office has been getting numerous calls from this number. They are so misleading and a scam they say they are part of CMS which I verified this information is false.

I have been speaking talking to my colleagues who had signed up with this company all they did was take money from their account.  So when you see this number coming up in my caller ID I just blocked it and report them too BBB

Apparently there is a program whereby medical professionals can be reimbursed by CMS (Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services) for the installation of EHR (Electronic Health Records) in their practices.

http://skycareehr.com/html/SRE/phase.php--

Some sort of business that helps physicians and other medical professionals to  qualify for reimbursement under the CMS program.

From the calls, it seems that they are trying to show that they are somehow part of CMS or working for them and want the people they call to sign up for their services.  They claim to be able to help medical processionals qualify for the reimbursement.   Yes there are penalties for not going to the EHR,  (from what I've read)  but most physicians would already be aware of this.

I'd just tell 'em to get lost;  hang up on them.  Most physicians and their medical and logistic staffs should be able to handle CMS paperwork on their own. Block their calls.

Prank Call
A woman called my office on June 17th and left a message of rather obtuse information -- implying that her company "Skycare" wanted to know if I had received my stimulus check - claiming an amount of $24,000 that I should have gotten.  She also ominously reminded me of dire consequences from CMS by July first if I didn't "comply".

The only compliance that she may be checking is for purchase and use of EMRs for which I am excused on the basis of age and being one year away from retirement from my practice.

A reverse telephone listing might identify the mystery callers but I do not know if 800 or 888 numbers can be traced that way.

I specifically asked the woman who called if this was a sales call. "No, we're helping CMS as the deadline approaches," she replied. Then she used a scam tactic: "doctors will be audited if they aren't compliant. I'll have my compliance officer call you."

Skycare called me from 714-415-6269, but the callback number was 888-789-0971.

Yes, they identify themselves at some point as calling from a company called Skycare, but they make it sound like they're with CMS. They say they're calling about a government stimulus check that the physician (I imagine they're calling physicians' offices only) should have received, but hasn't (like they know!)

I didn't care for Hans Whateverhisnamewas that called me :-)
