I don't have a student loan with Key Bank, but this number called and didn't leave a message... and my student loan isn't due for another 4 days. I am a little concerned.

Tell them the next time they call they are in violation of the TCPA (Telephone Consumer Practice Act) and FDCPA (Fair Debt Collection Practice Act) by harassing a non-debtor and will turn over your phone records to an attorney if the calls don't stop.

My husband and I are both disabled and getting to the phone is painful and difficult.  We are on a national do not call list, and this company keeps calling us over and over and over to collect a debt from a man who USED to have this phone number.  We don't know him, don't know where he is, and have never met or talked to him.  This collection agency just won't stop calling.    They are looking for a Jared Seal.  We are Terry and Nancy Cannon and Jared apparently used to have this phone number before we did.  WE HAVE TOLD THEM REPEATEDLY WE ARE ON A DO NOT CALL LIST AND THAT WE DON'T KNOW JARED SEAL, AND DON'T KNOW WHERE HE IS, BUT THEY JUST WON'T LEAVE US ALONE!!!  They most recently called on 12/31/11, on 1/3/12, and again 1/7/12.  They have called numerous times before, but I just started keeping a record of them after Christmas.

My son took out student loans with this company and was paying ahead of schedule and more than the minimum. When he initaled called them before he lost his job knowing he would be having a tough time paying the debit they never offered to do anything for him. Long story short after 2 months of calls we finally found out that Key Bank COULD have offered him a deferment but he didn't qualify now that he was out of work. Why wasn't that offered when he called the first time when he was qualified? He's working now but won't get paid until Jan 9th (they only pay once a month) and he just started there. However, now he's in collections and the parade of phone calls has started to mount to as many as 8 a day since they turned it over to collections. I'm at my wits end on this since he and I have no intention of not paying this debit, but we still have to eat and put gas in the car so we can work to pay the dam debit. It's like being on a hamster wheel.  His credit is now shot over this I'm sure, and there was no need for this to happen in the first place if they had just put the loan in deferment in the first place!

This company has done nothing but not honor there contract and now he and I are suffering for it because somewhere someone didn't do their job right. BTW the only numbers we ever were able reach was some call center in India who claimed they had no control over the terms of the contract, yet no one ever had a direct number for Key bank so we could talk to them directly. I've written to them, I've logged all the calls they've made to me and him and also started looking into an attorney to turn this over to.

I'm tempted to sue and have advised my son not to make a payment to anyone until we are assured that his credit is restored to where it should be in the first place had they deferred the loan.

hey called asking me to return their call. I have student loans through Key Bank, and one was 5 days late due to a lapse in memory. It's crazy that Key Bank would send a 5 day late bill to collections, when I have a excellent hisotry of paying on time.

I recieved a call from 888-794-3284. They left a voicemail with a return call number for 800-432-0201. I called it back and the message said thank you for calling Key Bank. I talked with a gentlemen and he asked me for my information. Long story short, after the call I really felt like it was a phishing scam and that I should not have given my information out.

I looked up Key Lend online and called their operator, she transferred me to collections where I talked with two different people on two different ocassions. Both validated that 1. the person I talked with when I originally called (800-432-0201) does work at their office, and 2. he had transcripted our conversation at a 2:45.

I feel comfortable with this number being from Key Bank Collections due to the validation from two different people on two different ocassions and that the operator transferred me to the collections department and they validated that infact I did talk to an associate from their office.

Yes, this is Key Bank.  Always an automated recording (they alternate between a man or woman computerized voice).  They only use this number from the computerized system when they're trying to contact you about an overdue account or collections account.

Key Bank! They are the worst, most unprofessional Company to deal with. Literally if you're late by 1 week they call and call. These people will not and do not give a grace period on any loans. They will send out collections for any amount under $100.00 dollars. Refinance your loan and never use Key Bank.

I am being subjected to these harassing calls at any time of the day asking for ss# etc.  This is not my credit matter but rather a person that is currently under duress because of the present economy.  They have to feed the children and pay rent first.  I would do the same.  Perhaps this company can work out a deal under the present economic situation--so that it is a win win for all.

Caller calls day and night repeatedly. When you return call, you get Key Equipment Financing. We have never had any financing of any kind with Key Bank. THIS IS PHISHING SCHEME. Beware!

I have student loans through Key Bank, and this is the number that always calls whenever my monthly payment is slightly late.  I echo the previous posters who noted that they call even after 10 days.

They do leave that automated message every time.  At least with respect to MY loans.

Recieved same messages as Jack, but I found out it's Allied International Credit who is doing the calling.

Not sure if this is legit yet.

Receive this caller ID call all the time but did not recall what their message was initially; it is at the point where we recognize the number and ignore it but still a nuissance.

Got an automated call on Saturday afternoon:

"This is a message for Jack -----.  If you are not Jack -----, please hang up or disconnect.  If you are Jack -----, please continue to listen to this message.  By continuing to listen to this message, you acknowledge that you are Jack -----.  Jack -----, you should not listen to this message so that other people can hear it as it contains personal and private information.  There will now be a three second pause in this message to allow you to listen to this message in private.  This call is from Alight International Credit on behalf of Key Bank.  This is an attempt to collect a debt and any information obtained will be used for that purpose.  Please contact us about an important Key Bank business matter at 888-794-3284.  Our business hours are (etc).  Thank you."

The repetition of my name, the Saturday phone call (outside of their business hours), the strange automated format, and the fact that I don't have a loan with Key Bank strike me as illegitimate.  I do have a loan with Great Lakes, although a glance at their site tells me they have no loan under my social security number, so perhaps they sold it to Key (whose site also says I have no student loan with them).  It's very confusing.  I'm placing an e-mail to Key Bank ASAP.

They caleld & said they were Key  Bank & asked for my social security number.  Well I have had identify theft & told them that I was not going to give them my SS# and they should have my other info, questions to verify who I was & they immediately hung up.  I have college loan through Key Bank & have not missed a payment & even was paying on it while in college......something sounds wrong with this company.  Calling Key Bank tomorrow.

I got a call from this number and they said it was Key Bank. So I knew it was a student loan thing... when I tried to call the number back it only goes busy signal. I can't call it from either cell phone, I'll have to try it from my office on Monday. Weird? But my loan is all paid up so go figure?

I received a call from these people but I don't have an account through key bank and haven't had one for years.  Sounded fishy and the return phone number has been disconnected as of 11-21-08.

I have been getting calls from them in the past week as well. I am a law school grad and took a loan out through them to finance one year. They began calling 2 days after I had missed my April payment and I returned the call today. I spoke with someone who spoke perfect English and they asked me only for my last 4 digits of SSN, not the whole thing, and had all my relevant account info. So this seems legit from Key Bank.

Wanted my social security number and were unclear about their actions. Very demanding.  I reported them to key bank and was told that they were from a collection agency in Canada. Not very professional and phishy, but apparently legit.I am still suspicious. I asked them to send me an email and has still not received one.

They are legit, Key Bank. They did the same thing to me at 11 days past due. In my case at least they had bought a home improvment loan off of the contractor that did the work. They sure did sound like a Phishing call me too.
