Scam.......

I had a Bank of America message in my SPAM FOLDER.  I never opened it.
They called my home line and left a message for a relative who doesn't live here.
Sounds like BS.  Bank of America would probably show Bank of America on the
caller ID.  This showed 800-531-7209.  They said to call 888-800-2513 about
a servicing matter..... yea, right.

@Esteen: Thank you for your comment / post. I appreciate it. It provided me with the information I needed to decide whether or not to block this number on my phone, continue to ignore the calls or return a call. (I'm going to call them back.) :)

_Edit_: For you all's reference, when the calls come in, the Caller ID reads 800 531-7209, and the voice mails are an automated lady who says the following:

"This is Bank of America calling about an important servicing matter for  Fibonacci Sequence. Please have them call us today at 1 888 800-2513. Again, that number is 1 888 800-2513. Thank you for your time and courtesy. From Bank of America, goodbye." (I have Google Voice, so I get my voice mails in text as well as voice.)

Just got a message from same people, apparently. Used my name and said there was a change in the status of one of my accounts. Didn't return their call and won't. Thanks to everyone who keeps this site so helpful.

got several calls today from 866-635-4316 when my answering machine picked up they hung up. then at about 6 pm they called again and this time left a msg on the machine claiming to be B of A asking my son to call 1 888 800 2513 - I don't think he even has an account with them.

Called 8888002513. answered Card Services.  They are a part of Bank of America calling about a missed payment on a credit card.

This is a legit Bank of America / FIA Card Services phone number. I called the number (888-800-2513), wasn't sure about it, then called the number on the back of my card and they were able to verify that there was a problem with my account and even verify the phone number that I had just used to call the 2513 number. If you're not sure, call the number given on your credit card, and they should be able to verify the same information for you. (That's generally a good practice anyway... if you call your bank number and they aren't aware of any reason to contact you, or can't verify that you called, then it probably was attempted fraud.)

If you're calling the number on your card, you can feel confident giving account or SS information, provided your line is secure (preferably a landline telephone).

866-635-4316 calls, asks for me to call 888-800-2513 back. I did & spoke to this woman who identified herself as "card services," & only told me she was Bank of America when I mentioned the banks name. I stated to her I will not verify or give out my personal information, and if she has my personal info, she can send me something in writing in the mail for me to review & never call me again. I haven't seen anything in the mail & I continue to get calls, from morning till night.

got a call on answer machine sayins somethink changed regarding my BA account. Called 1-888-800-2513 number and they did not answer as BA, but some kind of account managing co. I told them I'd get back and hung up.

Claimed to be from Bank of America but this toll free number is not listed on BOA's website.

Very evasive and they did not have my information but were requesting my account number and or social security number

I received a message on my answering machine with this number. They claimed to be from bank of america and said I needed to call regarding a problem with my account. I called and they asked for my account #. I didn't remember but gave them my SSN... then they said sorry, I can't help you. They guys said he didn't know how my call got routed to him, and suggested I try calling again. Very odd - and I wqish I hadn't given out my SSN.

They called me about an account,the problem is I don't do business with Bank of America, credit card or banking. ODD

This is the second time they called us within the last week, each time with a name other than ours, but still wanting us to enter our account number.  We don't even have an account with them.  Beware to the person that does enter an account number.  Your account will probably be drained within 10 minutes of that fatal mistake.

Can not figure out why this number keeps calling. All my Paymetns to BOA are up to date and nto delinquesnt. if thsi is BOA, which i don't think it is!

They start calling around 8:00 Am until 9:00 pm. Do not call registry is a joke! ion't answer but they won't quit calling.

I keep getting phone calls from (966) 635-4316 and telling me to call (888) 800-2513 regarding an account with Bank of America.  They call me like 15 times a day.  It's rather irritating.  I went to my cell service provider and blocked the call.  They also keep texting me.

Someone called my moms asking me to call BANK OF AMERICA back because my card was stolen. When I called back she asked who she was speaking to. I asked who am I calling, she replied "Im looking for Ms Smeed re: card # 4823 Im calling from AZ Federal Credit Union" I hung up.  THESE PEOPLE ARE FAKE!!!

I received several messages on my machine from asking to call back today. When I did the woman on the line asked for my name and then my Social Security number!!! When I refused to give it she hung up!!  I don't know if it's legit or what but be careful.

For me this was legit. I knew I missed a payment and they left a msg to call this number. However it IS sketchy because they never say "Bank of America" when you call. But they already had my card info and my calling back let them know I had a payment on the way, so then they would stop checking with me.

Someone from this number called my mother looking for me.  Bank of America NEVER had me at that number, I think something is up and will probably change my account.

Verified this number with local Bank of America office. They said it was a legit number. We had errantly short paid a bill and they called to correct the issue before we were charged any fees.

This really is BofA. They had all the information, amount I owed, payments, etc. I didn't give them any numbers. They called and worked out a new payment schedule for me as I was getting behind. I'm glad I took the call.

I got this call over the weekend.  They left three messages.  I just called BOA, they said it wasn't them.

Someone needs to do something about these guys!

A call came in saying it was from Bank of America and our relationship with the bank had changed.  They asked for either my husband or myself by name to call back at 888-800-2513.  

The caller ID for this call did not say Bank of America it said Toll Free Call.  When Bank of America has called in the past the caller ID had always read Bank of America.

I had never head of this number from BoAm so I decided to look it up on Google and found this site.

This call was placed to my number which is already registered with the national Do Not Call List.

Same as others...got numerous calls from 866-635-4316 with no message...some messages were left regarding a change in my account with BOA and telling me to call 888-800-2513.  Strange...I have been talking with BOA for over a week and none of these numbers ever appear with all the calling I have made with BOA.

How do these pests get stopped?  Has anyone tried calling 888-382-1222?  I've been told that reporting to this last number, you get off these crap lists.
