This website is so interesting.   The amount of BS that these scammers try just blows the mind.  A fax of a bad check?  Gimme a break.  Di'n't come in on the tater truck, yeah?

Received two messages claiming they had a "fax" of a "bad check" I wrote and needed to set up a place and time to serve me some legal documents.
besides the fact that I haven't even written a check in several months, I can tell it's a scam. A similar thing happened last year. Legal documents have to mailed and notarized as far as I know.

Got a voicemail on my business phone from a Ben calling from 888-802-1770 saying similar things as above (about an old debt and they were going to serve me a summons).  sounded like an automated call where my business name was inserted into the schpeel.  I pay all my bills and have no outstanding debts, so I had my biz mgr call them back.

He just told me he spoke to someone there and they said it was a $2000 debt from an old credit card from 2007?  I only have two business credit cards and neither are with the bank they named.  The girl said she needed my social security number to clear it up.  He of course said he would contact me about her request but there's no way I would give out my SS over the phone.  She then started talking about sending a summons out again and he told her to do what she needed to do and hung up.

DON'T give out your social security to these people!  this smells like a scam

now "maria" is calling..the checking account they say i comited fraud on is closed, the payday company they say i owe is paid and i have a letter stating that..I don't know what to do, I don't want to fax them becaue they can trace that, I sent a email to "julie but who knows if she gets it. I don't know what to do

has anyone been served papers or are they just trying to scare us? They sound so real

Receiving intimidating recorded official sounding calls from 888 802 1770 threatening to serve a faxed summons at my work or home.  From your other post it would appear an attempt to collect debts.  The call did not say what the summons was for and did not legally say it was for an attempt to collect debt.

I just got the same threatening message from "Ben Haney" saying the bad check, summons line. It was a recording. When I returned the call, to tell the scam operators not to call my number again, I got a recording saying I had reached "collections" and to leave a message. I just filed a consumer complaint with the FTC and will probably file one with IC3, recommended by the FBI website. I have received calls like this before from another scam "company". I'm pretty sure these people are getting our info. from payday loan applications. Mine are paid off, and I know I haven't written a bad check. I don't even write checks. Anyway, don't pay them any money and don't apply for payday loans you are not certain are legitimate. File a complaint. After the other scam kept contacting me at work and harrassing secretaries answering the calls at my workplace, I filed complaints like I mentioned above, and the calls have stopped.

I got a call to day saying they have a bad check that i wrote and to consider this my warrning for legal documents and that they wull come looking for me if I don't call imediatly. I callled and all I got was a recording saying this is collections leave a message. Who are they and is this real. I have never wrote a bad check, however I have had to put a stop paymnet and I had to close a account once. I amy paying a couple Pay day loans back but I am paying so I don't think they would do anything. HELP

I've getting those too. Am disregarding it. It's obviously a scam!

Received call from both 888-802-1770 and 800-984-3711 within 24 hours, both are from the same people. Abbott, Newman, & Assoc. I didn't know they could use 800 #s as well. Isn't that lovely.

Recieved v/m from a man named Ben Haney said he recieved Fax documents from a co to serve me with and to call back and refer to a case file. I get one of these calls every morning at the same time. If anyone is interested in pursuing them and suing I am in. These calls are very upsetting

I have recieved to calls so far at my place of employment telling me they want to meet with me to give me some importand legal documents and that if I do not meet with them they will serve me a summons at my place of employment. 1/18/2012

Recieved a message that they had a summons for a bad check I wrote Would send it to my place of employment or my place of residence.  Called them back and I get a message saying all operators
are busy. They have not called me back.

Whos number is this really? This lady named Julie called me and says she's from Abbott newman & Associates, her company will sue me for cash advance loans.

The address they give is near Niagara Falls, however in view of their obvious attempts to give a false impression on their website and on calls to their office, one should assume this is just another Buffalo, NY slimy debt collector, dooing the typical consumer rip off and scam.

There is nothing we found about this organization that comes close to legitimate.

Has no license or bond anywhere we checked.

Another here today - gone tomorrow - parasitic debt collector looking to screw consumers out of money the kikely do not owe.

Do not send them any money or give your banking information, make them prove their claims, don't be surprised when he cannot.

I received a phone call from this number yesterday, 1/11/12 this lady named Julie saying i owe cash loan advance payments from 2008.  I already paid that off, but Julie said its opened and i have to pay before they come to my job and serve me.  what can i do?

Julie called me from this number as a credit card debt collector. Used "strong arm" type tactics and threatened to report credit card debt as earned income to mess up my SSA-DI income if I didn't pay them a certain amount by 12:00 noon today. I called SSA and they told me she couldn't do this.
