I got a message again today ... claiming we have your work and home contact information and will be sending me served papers.  They also said "this is my last notification."

It's a scam, but I have to ask all of you .... have you actually been served papers from this firm?  I'm not afraid because I didn't do anything wroing, but how embarassing it would be to be served at work and at home; I have children.

Debt Collector
so I spoke with a michelle at this company  Nationwide Mediation Services.  She stated an incorrect address for me.  I offered my address and she says... the locator has all the information he needs to find you to serve you papers.  I have worked at this company for 11 years..  they state they have my info, so why now after 5 years they claim they have papers for me??  I offered my address, they denied.  I offered my phone number ...  they denied.   I have no problem if the man wants to serve me papers at work.. might even be better, that way I can have witnesses that I was served.   This company ( if they have had all my info) have repeatedly called my parents sometimes up to 3 times a day.  This is the first time I'm hearing this ) .  I received a vm from this man Mr Waters, left me a vm on my work phone,  I  have caller id and now have his cell number.. when I tried to call him... his vm box was full and not accepting any more messages.  When originally calling Michelle from " nationwide" I asked her to at least relay the info to Mr. Waters, my phone number and / or my address.. she denied. She also stated she could not send me any documentation..  I told her I would call my advisor ( attorney) to see how to proceed from here..
I cannot send her any so called $$,  if she won't accept any of my info to contact me.   This is all so I " would be spared from not going to court"   I'm not afraid of papers, nor am I afraid of court.  She stated she could take my debit/credit card number and we could resolve this today.  I opt'd out.  Also when I mentioned the FTC.. she stated  " thats a creditor law.. we're a mediation service"   whatever..  serve me papers at work,  i'll even greet you with a smile on my face at the door.

its funny how.. if they need your employer address and you've been there forever  that person calling harrassing  has that information on their documentation.   And,  if this is a locator company...  the department of motor vehicles has that info too.
idiots.

I received a message very similar to many of you .... they needed to verify my home address and place of employment and that I had charges filed against me regarding a payday loan from 4 years ago ... I don't recall ever taking out a payday loan with the company they are claiming.  When I asked for proof of this "debt" they couldn't provide it and said it will be in with the papers being served to me.

Someone from this number called my parents house (I'm 46 and haven't lived with them since I was 17), gave a case number, and was asking all kinds of questions about me and wanted to speak with my father (trying to confirm that he was my father. ??). My mother called me up all in a panic asking me if the police were looking for me because the woman was very threatening and rude and said they were going to send someone to 'come and get' me. Once I saw that it was an '888' number I punched it into Google and found this site. I'm not going to worry about it - I haven't done anything wrong and I don't owe anyone money.
