These people called my family. It turns out they were trying to collect on a debt that had already been paid a year ago. The guy I talked to was shocked to find out that I ran my credit report and found no list for the debt he was claiming. He became beligerant and finally admited they really didn't even own the debt. They just saw it on an old report and tried to collect. These guys are scam artist. Don't pay them a cent. Get your credit report first.

These guys are complete and utter crooks! Don't give them a thought, they are just fishing for whatever money they can.

They said something about a complaint and a subpoena lawsuit, and that someone named Brandi Beverage (no idea!) would be blindsided if I didn't call them immediately.

Apparently they're not up on the whole Internets.  What a bunch of clowns!
I hope they wind up in prison for a long time.

A true story. Names have been changed to protect the innocent.

Forgive me if this is a bit long winded, but considering all that I’ve seen online and my own personal experience, I am very frustrated. As the story goes, my sister--who lives with my parents in a neighboring town--was contacted this afternoon asking for my parents, by name of course and asking questions about a new mortgage or something of the sort. So, assuming that the man was on a first name basis with my parents, my sister gave away my mother’s work telephone number.

Mom has a nice desk job at a bank in town, and was called by a Paul Trider. This is the e-mail that she sent to me after her conversation with him:

Subject: EXXXXXXXTREEEEEMLY IMPORTANT THAT YOU CONTACT ME

Branden

I have had a man calling me at work saying he is an investigator from ?? and that he wants to serve you papers from the sheriffs’ office and has that your IRS stuff was sent to the house. I told him you didn’t live there and if he had his records straight he would know you were married. He said I  know he's married but his tax stuff is listed to your home. I said no it isn't. I don't know where he is so that is all I can tell you. He said ‘well the girl at your house told me to call you.’ I talked to your sister and she said he was trying to get in touch with me for a mortgage and called her Beth like he knew her. That is why she gave him my work number.

His name is Paul Trider 1-888-346-3978  ext  105

Please take care of this.

I love you
MOM

So, at about 5:30pm tonight, I contacted Paul and asked him what was going on. He stated to me firstly that he was unable to discuss the details of my case considering that it was already in the process of being filed as a lawsuit. He then went on to tell me that I had outstanding debt in the amount of six-thousand dollars from Clout Visa, only about fifteen-hundred is what I actually charged. Then, without a breath, he continues to say that I’m being sued for “falsifying legal documents.” According to Paul, back in 2002 when I signed up for the card, I had stated that I made $35k when my taxes didn’t reflect that at all. He then went on to say that credit card companies often times will file criminal charges against clients who default on their bill. I was immediately in fear. I figured I as an upstanding citizen of the law, was going to jail for probably shading in the wrong bubble. Then Paul, with his sneaky law talk says that he might be able to help me if I would be able to come up with the $1,500 by next Tuesday.  He then said, ‘after I hung up with your very unpleasant mother, I immediately asked my senior partner John Nicolia what to do with it, and he said to file it (as in a lawsuit)’ WHOA! So, something that my mother said to him effected my debt? How is that fair?

So scared, I called him back. I cut to the chase and told him I asked my parents and my grandparents and that they couldn’t give me the money. He said, well considering that your mom works for a bank, he found it hard that she didn’t have access to the funds or someone that did. What did he think, that my mom had a the key to a secret door in the back of the vault? Gimme a break! He then went on to tell me that I was in boiling water and that only he could help me. He said, lets do a three-way call with her right now. I then asked what good it would do considering that I had already asked and she said no, did he have the password to actually get her to say yes? Then, he went on to ask how much I thought I could come up with. I told him I’d have to crunch some numbers, but I could call him right back. That must have been the moment that his ears perked up, because from left field, he pulls, “just give me a roundabout figure so I can propose it to Mr. Nicolia.” I said, “probably about $100.” He laughed, “that’s not enough. $100/month? Really?” That did it, I said, “Paul, I don’t know where you’re from, but where I’m from, $100 is a lot of money. I have tried to be as polite with you as possible, but now you’ve mocked me.” He then apologized for having offended me, but “I’m from New York, milk costs five bucks per gallon.” Then came the bombshell. Paul said he didn’t have a lot of time, but the water I was in was starting to boil. Falsifying legal documents is a white-collar crime and something about me not being able to pay the debt anyway where I was going, but that he could help. Then he tried the old, I’m your only friend routine as he looked up my parents financial information, he told me, with their credit and resources that either I did something to my parents to deserve them not helping me out, or maybe they just didn’t care.

“So where do you work at?”
“Before I tell you that, let me ask you why should I tell you?” I asked.
“Don’t be facetious. I can do a Department of Labor search and find out. Just know that the more cooperative with me that you are the easier it will be.”
“Doesn’t sound like there’s any light at the end of my tunnel anyway, so I might as well just take the hard way out.”
“Well, if that’s the way that you want it, so be it. Thanks for waiting the time that I could be with my kids.”
Hang-up

I really hope he doesn’t have any kids.

No reason for putdowns, because the guy is his own putdown. I just wanted to share my story, and see if this ’falsifying legal documents’ thing is a new low for him or if he’s done it before. Also, to give some hope to someone like me who was harassed by Eastern Asset Management.

I leave you with a quote from Paul Trider:

“…Did the executioner agree with all the bloodshed at the guillotine? No. He had a job to do. Same as me”--Paul Trider

yeah - these people called - 1st to say they saw my business online.  I have no business online.  That was 2 days ago, 'Bea' left the 888-813-4333#. Tonight they called didn't use my name at all yet claimed to have a pending lawsuit and they are going to get my banking statements for the past 3 years, check all my assets and tax returns and file a suit against me and I may even lose my home.  Stupid people.  I don't owe anyone enough $$ that they would go to such extents.  Besides, I am on SSDI and my home is my primary residence which in my state, neither can be touched.  I don't own a car or anything else...I'll just let them keep leaving messages with these threats.  If it comes to it I will go to court - but it will be a harrassment suit filed on my behalf against them.  I saw a show on 20/20 or some other news show that was very similar.  Some people even left their home during the night in fear of these people's threats and tactics.
I don't have 2 nickles to rub together so let them keep calling.  It's amusing to say the least. The woman told me to call back the 888-813-4333 and refer to a case number to settle this out of court - DUH...are people really that stupid to believe these threats?  Can't get blood from a stone, but I bet there will be a civil suit against this company.  Keep the voicemail messages, you never know when they will be needed.

A Paul Trider called me and told me I had a debt that I needed to pay within 5 business days to stop them from filing charges for theft of service and attempt to defraud a creditor.  I told them that I couldn't come up with 1000 in 5 days and he said that he would discuss some other options and call me back tomorrow and if he didn't call me to call him.  First they tell me there are no options but to pay the debt in full by the end of the week then when I tell them I can't do it, to my surprise there is not one but many options to pay the debt. It's bogus!  I was so scared that I would have criminal charges pressed against me.

these people called my mothers house said they had an affidavit with my social, name and her number as a reference. I am 50 years old I have NOT used my mother name or number as a reference in over 30 years. What the hell is this? The persons name was Shamara and she was calling for John Nicolia attorney at law and it was vital that I call her back immediately. So I googled his name and like everyone else here I am I also found out that the company is called Eastern (or Ethical) Asset Management, LLC and is out of New York. They are being sued by several people for the following: violated the fair debt collections act multiple times by representing themselves as a law firm and violated the FDCPA by disclosing information regarding this debt to people other than the person. I also checked pacer and saw that these clowns are getting sued in at least 4 venues in Federal court. They apparently didn't respond to one and got a default judgment entered against them.  So no way am I calling them and my mother said if they call her again she is going to tell them to stop or she will sue for harassment.  Hope this info helps.

A man called my mother in law saying he was an assistant attorney to John Nicolia and asked for me by my maiden name (i've been married eight years).  She told them that I did not live there and that they do have a daughter in law named wendy but that is not the correct last name.  He said that this was the contact number on my account but he would not tell her anything else other than the call was in regards to a civil suit against me and I must call him back immediately and give this reference number or I would be served with papers by a law enforcement officer at my workplace.  I have no idea what I could be being sued over, especially something that would have been in my maiden name and have my in-laws telephone number on it.  I'm afraid this is a scam, but if it is legit, i sure don't want to be served with papers at my job. (which i doubt they could find me if they don't even know my name???!!!)

I got a call from a caller who left this number as a return number to call in my voicemail.  The weird thing was that the number that registered in my cellphone was different.  I called that number back, and the person that answered asked me if i got a voicemail message and then put me on hold but ended up hanging up on me without saying anything else.  i listened to the voicemail and called the 888 number, and that's when i talked to the person that left the message.  she claimed that she's from some law firm that i couldn't understand the name.  i didn't make any deals with her at the time.  i then researched the numbers.  that's when i found this site.  i also searched the number that registered in my phone and found that it's a residential number somewhere in florida...i was surprise to find this fact and i called the 888 number again, and the machine said that they are ethical assets management.
