TO CANCEL ONE NUST RETURN DEVICE IN ORDER TO GET THEM TO STOP TAKING FROM YOUR BANK.Do not open if mailed device by this company, also uses name of active Alert. I accepted this device due to a medical need, It has never worked for me, Now I must return to company. Do not open if you find such device on doorstep, mark return to sender and drop it in mail. This has got to stop. We just received a phone call from Rapid Medical Alert wanting to talk to my mother who has been
conserved.  They said that they were sending a medical alert product "if she qualified".  I asked if her
doctor had recommended this and they said "oh, yes, we were referred by her doctor".  When I
explained that my sister and I would be making the decision about the device, she asked if I understand
about medical alert devices.  I said I knew about Lifeline, but she said she'd call my mother back and
hung up on me.  Who do I complain to about this?  California Attorney General or local District
Attorney's office?

I didn't call them

I answered phone and a lady asked for me.  She said they were verifying a back brace delivery to my address.  I said I didn't order a back brace.  I asked who is this again and she said something that sounded like Tebow Medical.  When I started to question her about the call she hung up on me.  Obviously a scam call for some product.

I did not answer.  dialed back and got "Thank you for calling Rapid Medical Response" but I did not stay on the line to talk.  This is a telemarketer and I have listed on the national "do not call" list, so why am I getting these calls?

These people are trying to scam elderly into buying a medical alert service. They say they are offering the service to all of their patients. When I asked when I became one of their patients, the young woman said that that was what they called all of the people they call. They claim to be "Rapid Medical Response", but I can not find such a company on the Internet. THEY ARE A SCAM OPERATION FOR SURE.  JUST HANG UP ON THEM.

I'm sorry I have no useful information to offer.

"Called -- left no message." is useless, but that's all I know. Other than they have called on four days previously, and twice today.

When I get a chance, I'll use a public phone to call and find out who the jerks are. I never use my phone to do it because the unscrupulous ones will then claim in court that the calls were "pursuant to an Existing Business Relationship (EBR)" and therefore exempt from any Do Not Call list, etc. I've filed quite a few suits. The number of lies, excuses, distortions, attacks on me, and other unscrupulous tactics (including this one) has been astounding.

Unless they prove otherwise, I categorize ALL unwanted calls as Telemarketers. Real people leave messages. Legitimate companies do. People and companies with honest reasons for calling do. And, of course, all companies willing to comply with the law never call back. After all, my answering message says, "It doesn't matter who you are, who you're calling, or why, do not ever call back and put us on all your do not call lists."

" . . . put us on all your do not call lists." causes any exemption, loophole, or other excuse for calling back to vanish.

I have bank records showing thousands of dollars of deposits -- to a special account I keep for telemarketing money -- which prove I'm right.
