If you want these calls to stop you may contact them at 1-888-821-3690 before you call (if calling from BC,Canada)  press *67 to block your telephone number then place the call.

Make sure you RECORD the call. (or you may pretend to record the call).
Either way when they answer the call the first thing you should state is :

"Please be advised that I am recording this call"

They will in turn advise you that the call is being recorded.

Then give them the account number for them to look up the file.

After they have confirmed that the account number exists you need to say:

"Please remove this telephone number from your records as this person does not reside at this telephone number"
They will confirm that in 48 hours the telephone number will be removed.

Say thank you and hang up!

thats it!

Simple and easy!


PS. This company bought the debt from another company at 5-10 cents on the dollar in the hope that they can get a portion back from you directly. the original debt holder normally charges it off and moves on..

This number belongs to a company working for Accounts Recovery Corporation in Victoria, British Columbia.

They do work for the BC government that farmed Health Care Services out to a Virginia company.

It shows.
They belong together but at least we have an election this May. It's payback time.
These jerks call on a Sunday on an account that's been paid three months ago.

I've been getting calls from this number but they never leave a message.

No matter how you slice it, these people are scum bags whose company earns a percentage of whatever it can scare out of people.  A collection agency is still just a bottom-feeding collection agency.

Frankly I'm offended when someone calls me and says "This is ARC" calling, and no explanation.  Like everyone is supposed to know who ARC is?  Identify yourself properly, and you'll get a lot more respect than if you try to cloak the fact that your job is to intimidate money out of people who've probably had a hard time making ends meet.

I really wonder if these people leave the office and actually admit to others that their job is a lowly "bill collector".  Oh, sorry.  They've probably relabled themselves something euphemistic such as "premium enforcement officer".

I dont DARE assume all these accounts are genuinely delinquent; in fact I am aware many of them are totally incorrect, and spent about 50% percent of my helping people dispute and resolve their files. As far as " My time will come "....no it won't because at the age of 23, I manage to keep all my affairs in order, and deal with my responsabilities. every time i move and get a new number, i immediately get calls that are wrong numbers. i got a new cell phone number one week ago and have already received calls from at least 5 different numbers for people who are not me!! WTF! when i got a new cell phone number in toronto, i started getting calls from a collection agency for someone else. I had to tell them THREE TIMES that i did not know the person they were trying to reach before they quit calling. right now i'm in the states so i'm not answering my phone. i just noticed a call from this number today. and just yesterday i got a call and voice mail from 6046298888, which is shaw cable service.

why do i always get some evading idiot's old phone number? clearly the person who last had my number got rid of it because they weren't paying their bills! ;P

I received a call from this number, at my home, for my daughter Katherin. They said there was an important message for her... left a number and file number... and said to call back. I'm in BC Canada if that makes a difference.

To COLLECTOR; I hope you end up on a list one day; be it a mistake; then you

There needs to be some "reigning in" of sorts for your industry type. The tactics you

Yes people! This is 100% MSP collections for unpaid
medical insurance.
Why is BC the only province that has to pay it.
Why can't it be like auto insurance? Renewed on a yearly basis?

Got a message from them, called back to the number given, which was 888-821-3690. They were looking for someone who didn't live hear.  The woman I spoke to was very polite and said she'd remove the number from the database.

My fiance received a call like this today... We have never received a medical bill from msp before... it doesn't make sense, my fiance would pay something if we had received a bill... and if its a wrong number thats really odd because my fiance has had this number for years...

Came home from vacation to find they called approximately 12 times. When we phoned them back, we got a hold of a guy right away.  We told him we'd received NUMEROUS calls from them and had no idea what it was regarding.  The gentlemen determined they were trying to reach somebody who no longer lived at this number.  We asked him to remove us from their list because they phoned us WAY too much.  His response was: "relax, a***ole".

It  looks like  scam . The guy  introduced  as Dan   requested   my date of  birth   and  i  refused    telling  him  I'll call back.  He  gave me  a  number of   case.  Be  aware   of  them  !!!

I got a call from this number today. A guy named Mike Olick left a message telling me to call back and gave me an extension number and a file number. I returned the call and the extension number did not work. Very odd.

i went on vacation for a few weeks and when i came back i found i had 16 new messages all from "ARC in Victoria"

the thing is these all came in between 2 and 5 AM!!! i am calling now. took 3 calls to get something other than "not available in your calling area"

i got through and its a canadian gov' used collection agency.  MSP ambulance etc.

Call comes in from "Out of Area" with caller name of "Out of Area" But message left talks about this call not being a telephone solicitation, and that there is an important message for a person at the residence called, and then leaves this number to call back with a reference. Have gotten FREQUENT calls from this for the past few weeks.

My daughter got a call from this number on her cell phone.
