An lady with Indian accent called me and left 2 voice mail, asking me to return calls to 888-851-7365. Now I know it's fraud. Has FBI started to work on it and arrest those people? I can provide those voicemails as proof of their illegal activities.

An individual sounding Asian with a thick accent called stating he was from the IRS Headquarters and said money was owed and that it needed to be paid right away.  I contacted my tax representative immediately. My tax rep called to verify the validity of the caller. The "agent' hung up after being questioned.

These people called me saying that if I don't  cooperate with them and don't verify info, there Will be cops at my door within the next 45 mins to arrest me, what kind of agency gives you the heads up that we are coming to get you in case you want to run away ?!?!
They sounded like they were from India or Pakistan

Scam targeting people with foreign sounding last names.

A Michael Black (with thick accent) IRS Badge number 2296.  Left voice mail.

I called back and pretended to be a Detective investigating fraud claims.  Asked for the IRS office he was in - and he couldn't answer.  Put me on hold.  Then came back.  Asked again. Told me I would have to speak to a supervisor. Then hung up.

Have reported to IRS, FTC.  I can't find an owner of the phone number.  The last time the phone number was owned by YMAX Communications in Texas.  So filed a complaint with the Texas AG and the BBB.

Anyone know how to find owners of 888 numbers.  Tried Intelius, reverse look-ups, etc.

Supposedly Michael Black with Tax Crime Investigations - of the Internal Revenue Service.  I asked for his badge number and he said it was 2296.  Spoke with strong Indian accent.  I asked what office he was located in - and he told me he had to put me on hold to speak with his supervisor.

Clearly fraud.  Targeting people with foreign sounding last names.  The IRS does not call.  They always communicate via paper mail.

Reporting with IRS and FTC.

Just play along and give them a lot of phony information to make it not worth their time to keep calling people.

I don't know "Where exactly they are from?"?  But she did have an accent.  I guess that they will keep trying, until someone will fall in their traps!

And I know the fact that I do not owe any money to IRS.  Those sites that you mentioned, basically are useful for people "Who were victims of scams".  So, unless, you were a victim and paid money to those scammers, you can not report them.

Toooooooo sad!  :(

Hi,
Of course, I am not stupid enough to answer their calls.  I knew right away that they were scams.
But I did try to report to IRS.  But I was unsuccessful.  The site and phone line direct you to other sites and phone numbers.  So, basically, I was unable to report these M.F.s

The have called twice now.  The first time a male left a message with the name of Franklin Benjamin.  I did not call back.  I just received another message from a female who ended the message "May god bless you". I called back.  They answered "Internal Revenue Service".    I said I am returning a call. But the person did not leave a name.  Dead silence on the other side  I then asked where they are located. They said "Washington DC".  I said "I don't believe you. I saw the story on 60 Minutes.  You are a scam.". They hung up on me!  Plus I am in a totally different time zone. It is after 8 pm in Washington DC. I'm sure the IRS does not work past 5pm.  My local office closes at 4:30.

Same thing happening here...they must think we came in on a turnip truck. Dumbasses have thick Nigerian accents, do they think we don't question the legitimacy of the call?!
