Called for my spouse and male left message saying he was retained by CIBC Visa for violation of contract.Trying to sound like a lawyer.
Didn't identify himself as they are supposed to do,but number goes back to Common Collection Agency.Also,I believe not supposed to leave that kind of info on an answering machine about the debt.
Also getting their recorded voicemails from another number besides that.
Claimed they were doing employment verification on a given day,but they are only supposed to call your employer to confirm your address,which they have since they sent mail.Called back on another day and said they were trying to avoid employment verification(um,yeah,not allowed in this province but......thanks,I guess....?)

Sent them a letter in 2013 offering to make payments and requested contact by postal mail only.Postal mail request was ignored.
Payment offers were ignored,a settlement was offered for several thousand dollars instead.Don't have that kind of money laying around,have bad credit obviously,so can't get the money.
My spouse can only pay what he has.Been going around the collection agency to pay on the credit card,which is actually bad,because it raises the statute of limitations,but wants to do the right thing.

Debt happened partly due to a prior job layoff and it was hard to pay,and partly because CIBC slapped insurance on the credit card without any consent or knowledge.Insurance was not valid for spouse anyways.It was our stupidity not to notice the insurance,but we were just so used to seeing it on the card,didn't question what it was,until I looked into it.

Horrible bank,horrible collection agency.
I'm tired of legit businesses acting like they're the mafia.
Backed into a corner,and only recourse is either to wait until spouse is sued,or go bankrupt.I don't really see the point?

Trying to collect cc debt that's been paid in full by lump sum. Scam.

Called my house at 8:06 am and told me to call regArdimg a file number.  I didn't catch the name at the beginning of the recording and it sounded official.  I tried to call and get a constant message that their mail oz is full.   Why doesn't the phone company cancel these people out.

I do not have any outstanding debts.  These clowns phoned my number and they got the first name wrong because I only used my first initial in my phone listing.  I already dealt with iQor over a similar matter and now these guys have me in their sights!

This number called about a loan I haven't heard from in many years. They threatened to call my work about it. The woman states she is working for the gov't

Got a call from this number saying they were from the wants and warrants division about an old loan I had YEARS ago. I told the gentleman I would not make arrangements this day, but would be happy to call him back once I had spoken to a lawyer. He got very nasty and told me I was going to get sued and hung up on me.

8888518699 ext246 - lady named Michelle - left urgent message about my property - had information re my tax roll number - went online to see that phone # was a collection agency - I owe no one so have not answered their call.

It just happened to me too (14 Jan 2013).  A woman called Michèle call back asking to call urgently regarding application number 1664886. When I called back she asked if I know Will.. with my last name.

I am so fed up with these phones calls so early in the a.m. and I am jumping mad.  When someone calls me so early I think about my family being in an accident etc.  I am on  the no phone list!!!!!  I am just waiting for Marketplace to have their program regarding such harrassment on TV .  LEAVE ME ALONE.

They call at least 4 times a week sometimes like 2 times a day saying I owe money but I don't and a friend of mine called me and said that they called her place cause are numbers are almost the same and left messages on her phone, it's very frustrating.

hey yeah money has been going missing from my bank i have paid bills and the companys said they never recieved the money they say because its paid in cash they cant trace it. any truth to that? also i have changed my number to unlisted but they still get the number and call me.

Called for a person who has never lived here. There is a person with that name on my Facebook page.

Lock down your Facebook profile anyway and take your personal info off it.  That is one of the ways these people get the information to mess with you.

Very rude people working there O_o The guy told me they would creep my facebook wall, find out who i'm dating, and call her to let her know I owe money so she would leave me and I would then have a miserable life..? Really? Just don't listen to them, they're just trying to scare you.

this collection agency calls regularly for a guy who has the same last name and used to live in our city ( no relation at all, never met him ), we have an uncommon name so they hassle me cuz they don't know what hole he's hiding in. rude. i leave the same message with them everytime and they either don't get it or don't believe it.

Some person named Bilianna keeps calling our number and asking for our daughter's personal data.  Won't tell us what this is about.  Second time already.  Internet Lookup showed some connection (?) to Capital One, a company which attempted to scam our daughter for $5000--even though she never used this account.  Required several lawyers and over a year to get them to admit she owed no money to them!!!

This Common Collections, an agency collecting in my case for Amex. They will continue to call 3-5 times a day between 8am - 8pm, for at least 6 months before they will be forced to write the debt off. So better deal with them, or change your number to something unlisted.

I've dealt with Teresa Bilanna (or whatever her last name is) myself... she's pretty bad, but so is her supervisor.  She's working on CIBC accounts last I heard.  Some of her coworkers are slightly more reasonable, but I really don't see any reason to work with these a**holes.  Watch out for dirty tricks.  These guys ARE an actual collection agency as far as I can tell... they do at least have info on CIBC accounts, which means that when they don't feel like playing by the rules, they have enough info to do some damage.  Keep an eye on your bank transactions.
