Same issue. I'm getting calls from this number +18888531055. If I answer the call they hang up, if I don'tno message is being left.

No one there when I answered, called the number and got message "not in service".

I keep receiving calls from this number.  When I call it back there is a recorded message saying that this number is not in service.

This number is being used by CTC Marketing in the US.  They purchased a subscriber list from Canadian Geographic Magazine but have a problem with their dialer.  If you are a current or past Canadian Geographic subsciber you can have your name removed from their sold lists by calling them at (800) 267-0824 or email at privacy@canadiangeographic.ca

Here is an excerpt from Canadian Geographic's privacy policy:

Yup, same problem as everyone else. I got called (in the UK) from +8888531055 and I normally ignore it. Once, I answered and it hung up straight away. I'm not going to bother calling back now after reading these posts!

I get 2 phone couples every couple of days from this nunmber. I did try to call it back but it was an american on an answer machine saying cannot call this number. I will now add it to my reject list. If its important i guess they'll leave a msg!

I have had a call from them AGAIN today.  I actually answered and they said they were calling from BFC book club (books for children) and had a free gift for me!

Politely told them to bog off & remove my number from their list!

I get there call everyday. I only answered it once, when I received my bill they charged me to call me.  They call me everyday, they don't even leave a message.

I've had quite a lot of calls from this number recently and presumed it was a scam of some type.

got a call from this number and answered, got an American woman answering. when tried to dial back yo find who it was got automated service saying couldn't use this number.

same as all hours of the day and nite i get these calls i answer they put it down,i just found out of a m8 they want you to ring the number back,,"DONT DO IT"you WIL be charged anything from £1 - £5 a minute for the call its all a scam from the crims BEWARE OF +8888531055 or any strange number reject it soon as it rings or add it to ya reject list on ya phone menu........

This company calls me several times a day. i never manage to answer the calls, but they have been phonong none stop for weeks, dont leave a message either

dead air call, must be a telemarketer's auto dialer

Just had a missed call from this number - +1 (888) 853-1055. No message. Looks dodgy! How do these people get numbers, it's so annoying

I have received two unknown calls from this number.
