You degenerate debtors are all so hystarical to us. I worked in buffalo new york for a debt collection agency and was never able to speak out to you people. The things and people we have to hear day after day is just outright funny. the excuses are no better 90 percent of the time then that kid in the 2nd grade who said the dog ate my home work. You people are the reason this country is in the postion it is now. We are doing a great service to this country by pumping some money LEGIT owed to companys even though its at a fraction of the origional loan amount. If people didnt call you and bug you about it, the loan would never be paid off. It's economics 101, but I'm quite sure every one whose posted negativity here has never even been to school past the9th grade and still work at mcdonalds. Lets think things through, kets read inbetween the lines next time you decide to write some non-scense about somehting you know nothing about.

We recieved a message on our answering machine from Phillips, Everett, and Jones, in reference to my husbands step dad, and they even provided us part of his social security number (which is his correct number) and a case number. They said we needed to call them back as soon as possible to clear our names of any wrong doing, etc. 716-995-2927

I gave the information to my husbands mother to deal with, but decided to look them up online because the whole thing didn't seem right to me and this is what I've found! It's completely rediculous to me that this has been going on and not been stopped!

The hell with that! Let them VALIDATE the debt as per the FDCPA if they have a valid claim .... If they can't then f-them.

I got a phone call this past weekend from my father stating that a law firm was trying to contact me. He gave me the number to witch I called them back. I was xfred to a lady named Susan. I asked her who she was and why she was calling my parents. I asked her for her full name first and last to witch she refused to give me her last name. So then I asked her why she was calling my parent's house several time's a day. To her snotty reply was that they where not and that was the only way they had to get a hold of me. I asked her if they bothered to send me a letter or anything. She said that they did on the 12th of Jan 2010. My reply was did u send it certified mail? She said no! I then asked her what all this was about. She said it was for a payday loan that I supposedly took out awhile before going into a chapter 13, witch I have let desmiss do to a lack of funds to pay what the court's wanted. I told her I wanted proof of the debt and how much is owed. I told the lady at that point that I would work out some sort of payment arrangment's with them when she showed me in black and white how much I owe! I asked for an address to send her a letter and she hung up on me. She accused me a fraud saying that the checking account I had I closed on purpous to keep there company they are representing from collecting there money. Witch was BS the account I had I had for almost 12yrs with the same bank. I closed that account cause i went to try a diffrent bank.

Apon doing some resurch I found 9 different number that these people call from and the attorney that they supposedly work for. I also verifiyed through the New York State bar accocation that the attorney they work for is a licensed attorney in the State of New York. As far as where I live in Ohio she is not licensed to practice here in Ohio. I also found there address. I tried 3 time's to call and talk to someone and the call goes right to voice mail of Caryoln Aduion. I left a message with her and told her that I found there address and I was calling to verify the address to send a certified letter wanting verification of the debt and that if I do not hear back from her by 3p today that I will consider it a valid address to send that letter too. I also found out today that they sent this letter out to me while my bankruptcy was still legal. Witch is against Federal law cause they where trying to collect a debt while I was still in an active bankruptcy at that point.

Then pull up the road side view it will show you right where this office is located. This is a dump of a place and I don't trust anyone from there as far as I could throw them. I have filed a complant with the FTC, Ohio attorney genral's office, and I am filling one with the New York attorney genral's office. I am not the type of person that is going to pay someone money just cause they call me and try to tell me too. When you can show me in black and white then we will talk. I know my right's and as of right now this company doesn't have a leg to stand on. If they want to take it too court and fight fine. I will just ask this question then. If there client was so intent on getting money from me then why did they NOT file a claim for money in the chapter 13 I was in? Hmmm........

fees were added on ..... which they can't do  collection fee ??? attorney fee THEY DONT HAVE ONE !!!!!! legit ??? no way cons ... a scam .... any fool would believe this company. the only attorney in the building is a divorce attorney who has NOTHING to do with the company

Not entirely true. I was trying to get a house but I had a few outstanding items on my credit report from a previous marriage. Even though it had been a long time since they sold it to the hyenas, I called them up and they worked with me to pay it off and get those items off of my report. No blood-sucking leeches involved! Not all companies will do this, in that you are correct. But I would recommend trying it first!
BTW, my contempt for collectors is not so much borne from their practices...I find it quite amusing sometimes...but from the fact that I WAS one a long time ago. I left it when I saw how sadistic their bosses are and how they will stoop to the lowest levels to collect ANYTHING so they can keep their jobs and the scraps they are thrown on payday.
I have been receiving calls from this "firm" also. They started after another unscrupulous group tried. I'm sorry, but it you are going to call me no less than 8-10 times per day and call me at work and threaten to garnish my wages, I am through talking. I don't care how pleasant and amicable they may be to work with, as posted a few items back. Companies like this are a plague on our society and NEED to be disposed of. Their psychological tactics and doublespeak which they use on the unsuspecting and sometimes unknowledgeable should be considered a strong-arm tactic and dealt with as such.

AG Cuomo has declared WAR on debt collection agencies operating illegally in NY State.

yes this is the same woman that continuously calls me. i'm so sure this is her real name. i called her back and left her a message informing her not to all me and that i required written documentation. of course, she keeps calling, on one instance 3 times in 30 seconds. i have all calls, voicemails, etc saved on my phone and am mailing them a certified letter tomorrow. i also just filed a complaint with the fcc. there is a post on the first page listing the website to use. great site and you get a confirmation number from the fcc at the end showing that your complaint was submitted successfully. i recommend that you do this as well. maybe it won't do any good, but it did make me feel better... not to mention I have this confirmation number showing I submitted this complaint to the fcc in case I decide to take legal action against THEM... which I will if the harassment continues.

i received a call from these people on dec. 4th - a little research shows they call people and state that you owe $$ regarding a cashnet payday loan - something i've never done. "Mrs. Furhman" asked that i call her back regarding a "case" in the county i live in. something's not right with this phone call and i think i'm going to let the attorney general's office handle it..........

They are the LAW OFFICE OF JENNIFER BLACKHALL, only the NY State Bar says no one by that name is licensed to practice law.

Some ugly, nasty sounding woman (don't think she shaved in a few days) using the name of CAROLYN AUDION with a mouth moving faster than a dog chasing a garbage truck proceeded to explain they are a LAW OFFICE with paperwork ready to file in court.

Only problem is they have NO license in my state, (or any other) so they can't legally do business, so my lawyer says they can't legally file any suits.

Their letter head looks so bad you wonder if they learned to type before they popped drugs or lit their pipes.

I got a call at work from this Phillips Everett & Jones LLC about a debt from CashNet USA, which I never took a loan from them.
I have no idea what this is about.

PHILLIPS EVERETT JONES LLC Also contacted many family members I do not even know, claiming it was a civil matter. Why the heck would they even tell these people this?! I recently got married and they are contacting great aunts and grandparents on my husbands side trying to get a hold of me. I never ditched them, hell I didn't even know I had the debt till I checked my score 6 months ago. It was from Identity Fraud 5 years ago, and I thought I cleared it up.

I decided to rid of it and pay it. Well I made plans to do so. the bill was $807.55. So the 1st day I called them we made plans to make a payment of $407.55 on the 18 and the other $400 on the 30th. I wanted to spread these payments out more but they said they could not. Fine. But I got off the phone, started making phone calls trying to see if I could get assistance from a family member or something for the current month because having $807.55 in payments in 3 weeks is a bit hard for someone working part time. Well because most of the family got contacted by these people none of them would help. Not like I expected them to. Others just couldn't. So I ended up calling back before the 1st payment was even removed. Asked if I can try and make other arrangements. It was simple this time to spread the payments out. So the new plan was $407.55 on the 18th of Sept. $200 on Oct 2nd and $200 on Oct 16th. Great this works out fine, I can still pay my other bills and not get behind. So a few weeks roll by, 1st payment taken out no problem. Sept 30th comes by, I log into my bank account to pay some bills. What do I see? A payment for $400 being taken out of my bank. I call PHILLIPS EVERETT JONES LLC right away and they assure me no other payments will be taken out and that I am done. Well today (Oct 3rd), I again log into my bank account and find $200 is being autherized to be taken out. Ofcoruse I try to call them right away, but now it is the weekend and they are closed.

So for a debt of $807.55, so far I have paid $1007.55 and I am sure they are going to "mess up" and try to take the other $200 on the 16th. Not only have they taken out more then they were supposed to, they screwed me on all my current bills and now at this point I am going to be 2 months behind.

Debt collectors out to get debts, just to make people more in debt. Brilliant. I will never ever pay another debt, even it were mine. Immature I know, but they have really screwed things up for me, plus my husband does not believe me.

really?????? I just paid a web-payday loan for half of what I owed to Phillips,Everett,Jones....some woman named Lindsay and her boss named Ian. So I don't get it!! why don't you try calling Lindsay X218. She was very professional.

I got a voicemail tonight from someone named "Elizabeth" saying I needed to call her back immediately in order to "clear my name of any wrongdoing" and to "notify" me "that a summons could be served on me at my job or my home." Of course, it scared the wits out of me and like a good little sucker, I called. Turned out to be a Cash.net loan I've been fighting for almost a year. Aside from very aggressive predatory lending which they disguise with contractual language, I tried REPEATEDLY to work out reasonable terms with them when I couldn't meet their terms. They refused to work anything out with me, said if I couldn't make their payments as scheduled, they'd just sue me. They'll get nothing because I live on 3 figures a month Social Security Disability and am totally disabled. That's another matter though; my concern right now is the collection agency. The good folks at Phillips,Everett & Jones violated almost every provision of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act when speaking to me, up to and including threatening to serve me with a summons & sue me, which is HIGHLY unlikely, seeing as how it would cost them more than  Cashnet says I owe to serve me in my state. Since it is just about an impossibility that I'd be served here, it is therefore illegal to threaten me with it. Also, they were trying to collect nearly four times the loan amt, claiming it was "interest". I suspect that's their way of making a few bucks for their firm, which is also illegal. I'm filing complaints against them with the FTC as well as the NY Atty General's office. I strongly advise anyone else being harrassed by them to do the same, put these pond-scum out of business permanently. Times are too hard for people who're struggling to keep their heads above water to be treated this way at the worst time in their lives.

A man named Ian, claiming to be with the law firm of Phillip Everett Jones, left a number of messages telling me that they were going to be filing papers with the courts here in Salt Lake City against me.  I have no idea what this is about and have been advised not to contact them.  Apparently they are not a law firm; but, are posing as one.

MR. FOUST OF PHILLIPS EVERETT JONES @ DIRECT LINE 716-335-4366 - STOP CALLING MY JOB. YOU HAVE BEEN SENT LETTERS INDICATING THAT YOU PROVE THE DEBT.  YOU HAVE NOT.  ONLY AN IDIOT WOULD PAY A DEBT THAT IS UNVERIFIED.  TOO MANY PEOPLE ARE AFRAID OF GARNISHMENT, LEGAL ACTION OR BAD CREDIT RATING & PAY YOUR SO-CALLED DEBTS WITHOUT QUESTION. the letters are sent out and then the calls are made. you can keep treading water but the fact is there are debts out there and they need to be paid, you can keep coming up with excuses but that only will go so far. dont take a loan out if you dont plan on paying it

You got it backwards, crook. If you are trying to collect some alleged debt, an informed consumer will DEMAND that YOU prove the debt exists, and upon their request you must COMPLY. Nobody has to prove anything to you until you do that. Don't try to use this site to confuse people about their legal rights, scum. YOU prove it FIRST. Exactly how much are you stealing from uninformed victims these days???

then show them a paid letter because without that what proof do you have, i know that they aren't going to take your word, hell if that was the case no one would ever pay their bills,  and if your not smart enough to get a letter from the place that you paid then its your fault for not keeping proper banking records

People do pay their bills, what they don't do is give money to glorified mafia goons engaging in shakedowns via telephone, masking their real identity with spoofed Skype phone numbers. You also impersonate federal officers, make illegal threats, and promise to garnish wages (impossible).

I owe nothing, my debts are paid in full and you will not get anything fro me. I'm not intimidated by your pathetic strongarm tactics and your baseless threats. You can't annoy me enough to give you hush money, either.

everyone that is in here complanining need to realinze that you were given money and expected to pay it back, now for those of you that that want to cry about what you think are illegal practices need to pull out your FDCPA books and brush up, because most of you have no idea what your talking about and sound stupid........... pay your bills and you wont have this problem

once your debt leaves the original creditor you are no longer able to make payments to them

instead of taking it as harassment you just call them back.only a guilty minded person perceives a phone call as harassment. if you had returned the call to begin with they never would of kept calling you.it's legal to call your job. how about you look up the laws and pay your debt instead of wasting your money on an attorney who , in the end is going to tell you to pay the debt.
