That number belongs to Sears. It is the toll free number for Sears Direct Parts. They have parts and service centers all over the country that the appliance repair techs work out of and where you can buy parts for just about anything Sears has sold for the past 30 or 40 years. They may use it for trying to drum up business for their local contractors that do carpet installation and home repair, security system installs or other things. They do not publish local numbers for the service and parts centers, you call the toll free and whoever answers transfers the call or pretends they are local and answers your question.
