I is wrong with you guys, these folks worked out a good deal for me to clear some of my debtor, with NO interest, on something that i knew i owed. The reason we are messed up as a country is because folks like you guys run up credit cards and dont pay, PAY YOUR BILLS

someone called my place of employment to say they wanted to serve a summons.
I returned call it was on a something i had reported Identity theft on. They still wanted me to pay even though I was fighting this on identity theft.
I told them to send me the information.
They still did not send me information on the bill they claim I owe.

Got the same call today. They called my Grandmother and asked for me by my Maiden name.  They got her very concerned that I was going to be going to JAIL!  They then turned around and called my House and scared the living crap out of my daughter!  When my Grandmother asked what WPST stood for, the women said she had no clue.  SCAM! Send me a letter, contact me in writing!

Prank Call
Its a scam. these people called threatened and harrassed my family to get to me. they claimed they hired private investigators to find me when they found my sister instead and if they really wanted to know where i was its not hard my info is public online. they never once told me thier name of the company or thier names in general who i was talking to. when they transfer your call it doesnt seem like they are bc when ur transferred it rings. it never rang for me and both men sounded the same. so i think they just put me on hold and was pretending. but they werent lenient in anyway!  thier trying to get me for credit card debt that was payed off in full 4 years ago when i was in highschool. it is a scam i know it because debt collectors cant just talk to you like that. threatening to call your probation officer for fraud. and i they wanted a payment today. said if my card declines theyll will sue for fraud. well i gave them the info and froze my accounts :). i dont buy into it. i just wanted to see if it was for real. they tried and failed. once you get the cops involved they change thier numbers

I also have received a call from a Michael Bishop, saying that this is the first of three attempts of calling to serve me a summons either at my home or place of business. I called the number back, and that number is not in service. They never said in what "debt" they were trying to collect. It scares a person when you receive a message like this and you have no clue what they are talking about. Am also glad to hear it is a scam. And if you were to get a summons, it would be coming from the sheriff.

I got a call today from a Chris Roman asking me to contact them regarding a case #.  The call came in from a private number. He said he was in the process of serving me with a summons at home or at work. If they do not hear back from me they will process as failure to serve.  I do not know what this is about and do not plan on calling them back. If they wanted to serve me something, the original debt would have my social security number and they could run a check on me and find out where i am at. They would not need me to call them back and give them the information. They would also send me something in the mail, which I have not received.

Called to let me know they were going to send me a summons. This is a tactic to get you to talk about settling. Did some investigating, and they are a company that purchased debts from another company. It was regarding a credit card that I stopped paying on when I was younger. Although I was very tempted to use debt validation to get rid of them, I wanted to pay the original debt anyways (working on other debts now), so I am trying to settle with them for the original amount. Should know by tomorrow.I think the validation would have worked due to them being the 2nd company that had this debt. The likelihood of them having the correct paperwork, interest and fees listed, etc was small, but I didn't want the hassle. I read up on what my rights are, and what I would be able to settle for, and I would highly recommend doing research and taking notes while you are talking to them. Companies like that are counting on you not understanding the process, and what happened with your debt after you stopped paying it. Although it is tempting, it's good to keep a level head and not get into a war of words, or start being mean.

Guys,

If you are going to legitimately get served with a legal summons, no one is going to call you to tell they are doing so. A county sheriff will just show up at your door with a summons to appear in court. A summons will only be issued after a case has been filed with the court. These people are just using an illegal scare tactic to get you to pay on a debt you may or may not have. Think about it- This is why you can not find a website on these people. They call you from an unlisted number and tell you to call another number.
This is all an illegal debt collection practice! My advice- Play their game, find out who they are, and sue them for violating the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act! Do not send them any money! Do not even offer them any money or payments! Educate yourself, play your cards right and they could end up owing you money!

I received a call just today telling me to contact a Mr John Franklin regarding a claims and that this was attempt 1 of 3 to serve me. There is absolutely no reason for me to get served. They even gave me a case number and this came up as a private number. Not sure what can be done about this but how do they get our numbers sheesh!

Also received the same call, stating it was the first of 3 attempts to reach me to verify my address.  I called them back and he said it was for US Bank overdraft fees from 7 years ago.  I called the attorney general's office and submitted a claim.  I was told this was the first claim they had gotten on them.  I got a letter from the attorney general's office stating they were unable to file the claim due to that fact when they called the # they was only given the name WPST, they said since they didn't have an address, they were unable to file the claim.  I tried to get the address, but was not able to find it.  Please, anyone who has recieved a call from Wade Wilson, call the attorney general's office so we can put a stop to this.  You can look up the number for the Ohio Attorney General.

My daughter received a phone call and was told to call 888-871-3957 so she could clear up the problem before they would take it to court. She called the number and was told she had outstanding overdrafts on a bank account she no longer has. She was never contacted by the bank itself. Fortunately her dad stopped her before she gave them her debit card number. When he talked to the person on the phone requesting all the paperwork by certified mail, they accused him of refusing to pay on her behalf. He said he'd be glad to send them a certified check. They didn't ask for an address to send the information to.

I got the second call today and I believe this is an scam because I have never heard of these people or company. They said they are WPST , its a legal collection agency that processes summons for companies that you have not paid the bills too, credits, loans, etc. I called them and the credit card bill that they were trying to collect for wasn't even a card I never had. Mind you I have had 2 identity thefts who have stolen my information and used it. So they are stopping these proceeding and so I hope that nothing else arises from this. I would just call they will give you the information and then go from there.
