This company is VERY pushy - we called just asking for more information. They gave us some information, in a very rushed manner but made sure to take time to explain why we should pay now. The rep even went as far to say "well, i'm going on lunch, so if we could resolve this before then..." Serious...? I also made sure to call from a work phone. They were very adamant about getting a contact phone number even when we blatantly said "no".

We should all file a complaint with BBB. I looked briefly on the site, and it looks like they'd prefer to close all accounts that make a complaint so that they can get that BBB Accredited rating. We filed a complaint - let's see what happens!

You are an IDIOT!  The debt may not actually exist and still be put on someone's credit by a collection agency that changes the account number and the reporting times!

Did it ever occur to you that Capio Partners is a fraudlent company!?  I KNOW FOR A FACT, that they are attempting to collect on a debt that is NOT mine.  A debt that they purchased from another debt collector...a debt collector that I proved 6 months previously, that I did not owe the debt!

I suggest...little Capio troll...that you go find a REAL job and stop sticking up for a company that doesn't give a rat's a** about you!

I have been getting calls from 704-706-9346. They call 5 times a day and do not leave a message. I answered the phone and it told me to hold. I held the some guy answered real fast and then when I asked who this was calling he hung up. I called back talked to a young lady asking for my first name and no my last name. I asked what they do? She replied a lot of things. I told her to remove my number and she stated she would not and hung up on me. I called back and got the same person. I told her she hung up on me and she stated she told me she was terminating the call. I corrected her and told her no you did not. She proceeded to ask if I was this person and ask if my last 4 numbers of my social and gave someone else's last 4 numbers of their social security number. I was smart and recorded the phone calls and now I am turning this recording over to the state attorney on behalf of someone else behalf and going after them for harassment. I ask them to remove my number and they denied on the recording. I did tell them I was recording by the way. They should have the same recording. So the state attorney will here the same thing!!! If your calling me don't be rude and hang up on me!!!

The company in which you are referring, Capio Partners, only operates Monday through Saturday. It would therefore be impossible for you to receive a call on a Sunday. As far as your concerns regarding medicaid coverage for the service in question, if complete medicaid coverage information was not provided at the time of service, it was likely not billed correctly. This, unfortunately, falls back upon the patient to resolve in a timely manner else be held liable for the services provided.

That is a "nice" story. How could you stand to work for a collection agency?
It is strange that you are reading the complaints on a collection agency web site.

Hi, I am having the same problem. Casio started to harass me last Friday for a bill I paid in 2007.
I paid the bill for a Bay Area Credit Services. It was an ambulance bill. In 3 months, Bay Area Credit
Services billed us again for the same bill, saying that they did not receive our payment, it was credited
back to our credit card. I reported them to the BBB, it was a waste of time. They lied so much, luckily I have everything in writing.
Now, Casio wants to get the same payment the third time! I am so angry!
I told them I want them to send me the bill in writing. So far, nothing came from them.
I have all my receipts and complaints letters, so now I will go after them.
I am looking for people to start a class action law suit. Are you interested?

@ Angry and pissed off. I feel the same way. I get 2,3, 4 calls a day from Capio; even on Sundays, which is against the FDCPA guidelines. Furthermore, I have tried to explain to them I was covered @ the time of this alledged bil by an Health Insurance agency, plus any balance would have been covered by Ohio Medicaid. I've called the hospital in question and was told thet once they sale to Capio the hospital is done with it. I intend on calling a hospital administer in Billing this coming week.and clear this up. I'm sick and tired of these phone calls that start 8am up 9pm.

You realize you have an option to dispute, yes? That letter should have certain disclosures required by federal law if it's the first contact about some old debt. The most critical is that you have 30 days to send a dispute letter. I'd guess you have about ten days left. Use USPS Certified with return card.

Doing so will preserve many rights for you. Prior thread discussion should be enough to suggest that you cannot trust your collectors an inch. You are entitled to proof of claim and fair treatment, else the collection agency is NOT entitled to your assets. If it's your habit to pay strangers anything they ask, you're likely to get rooked. Do nothing and possibly a judge will make you pay what cannot be proven valid.

.  .  .  .  .  .  .  .  .  .  .  .  .  .
Whether you are called a debtor or some collector thinks you can flush one out, you have rights and options. Many are simple to exercise if you only learn how. You are granted control of how you are contacted, the right to dispute debt claims, and the means to sue violators at low cost. The FTC and the CFPB can start you on your homework. See also if your state laws grant additional or stronger rights.

I get phone calls every six months When I called the original debtor they said it was paid Im being billed for a service in 2009 what year is this 2013 . this is one of the biggest scams ever . I paid them for another bill and never got a letter of satisfaction. I will report them to my local state government. This is called double billing I paid the hospital then the hospital sends it to them anyway for the same amount and if your not keeping accurate records you are paying thousands , Morons and idiots they are. I will have them investigated . As far as Im concerned if they cant produce dates of service Im not paying anything . consumers beware your getting ripped off.

I have never received an actual phone call from this number, but I just received a letter in the mail about a bill that is 3 years old. They had told me I had to either pay one lump payment or 3 month disbursement one. Either way I can't physically pay it since my hours at work have been cut back, and that means I don't make as much. But when I tried to call the number they gave me and this number as well, but my phone call would never go through at all. Should I try to scratch up every penny I can and send the payments to them, or not worry about it one?

Cease-and-desist letters

A cease-and-desist letter is a letter demanding that the recipient refrain from a certain behavior or face legal action. Some types of behaviors that may prompt such letters include:[citation needed]
Harassment by telephone by a collection agency or junk debt buyers
Stalking or other forms of harassment
Property, neighborhood, and boundary disputes
Patent infringement, copyright infringement or trademark infringement
Libel or slander
Terms of service violation

In the case of stalking and harassment, the letter usually demands that the recipient cease the threatening behavior or face criminal charges.

In the case of property and boundary disputes, the letter demands that the recipient cease activity that negatively impacts their neighbors. Some examples include holding loud parties late at night, leaving a dog outside to bark all day, cutting down trees that stand on public or jointly owned land, or building a fence that infringes on someone else's property.

In the case of copyright or trademark infringement, libel, and slander, the letter typically threatens a civil lawsuit if the recipient continues the undesired activity. It is similar in form, although not in function, to a demand letter, which alerts the recipient to a pending claim for money damages, usually as a result of a tort or a breach of contract.

In the US, a recipient of a cease-and-desist letter who is placed in a "reasonable apprehension" of litigation may respond through a request for declaratory judgment proceeding in his own jurisdiction.

Good job informing as to the rights ... Former legal debt collector here .. For over 15 years and not on Tirsh paper eith ( Sorry folks that was for Capio ) .. Most of the debt they do by in past medical bills the statute of lilmitations has expired on .. That is why that can not send any back up regarding the debt .. They have none .. They but what is called lots of business .. Meaning a whole bunch of accounts in one scoop that no  one could collect on in a 1st placement or 2 nd placement office ... Myself in the 15 years I honestly never recieved a complaint and gained the nickname nice bill collector .. That said I recieved a call from this company and the chick went sideways .. I explained I would call her after work and we could discuss the matter the debt was out of statute anyhow .. Every two hours nera abouts my cell rang with a few roll over Capio lines .. I decided to capture a few .. Now I have a blast so do my grandkids .. I can call them every minute driving in traffic or driving home .. Do not even have to look at the phone .. But the real phone is handing the grandkids the phone when they want to talk on it and calling for them .. 2 year olds can jabber forever and I just keep hitting redial ... Should have checked who you were calling .. and dates .. Have fun Capio .. My grandkids and I am .. Ex Amex Lgl Dept Collector LOL You will wish I had just chosen to write a cease an desist .. Calls will stop when yours do .. I have already made it to three managers that ask that I speak or stop calling there collectors .. Cause I can shut down a collection floor with chatter about the caller that does not speak in 30 minutes flat ...

I received a call from Capio Partners regarding an unpaid hospital debt from 4-13-09.   Since it is now 2012, and I was not immediately familar with the debt, I asked them to send me info.   I was able to pull records and I found my cancelled check and paid invoice for the bill.  I wonder if this is just a game that is played.   Call someone about a 3+ year old debt, tell them that it will go on their credit report and see how many people hurry and write a check.

This is sad, when you read on here that Capio is a scam. The fact of the matter is they are a debt collection company and as bad as that may be the fact is that you owe a bill. The company by law cannot as I would hope you would not want them to discuss your health issues with anyone other than yourself. There are people at this company who do not follow the guidelines set forth, that is sad. What else can you do as the debtor, call them back- yup thats right. Just talk and they will explain, that starts by the way by telling you this conversation is being recorded...

Well I received a call from their local number 407-329-3735 Rob Walker was the first guy that called. They said Kathy O partners but when I asked them to repeat it he just kept talking over me. He asked if I was the individual that lived at my street address I asked what his company did and he replied with is this your birth date? I asked again what they did then he actually read me my last four of my SS#. In which I did not verify anything thing but his final answer was he couldnt tell me that personal information until he verified who I was after he just read my b-day and my ss# to someone he wasn't even sure about yet!! He never did tell me what they did or why then he hung up on me. I called back and spoke to a Meagan and she was even less helpful but just as rude!!
