I agree. I never answer an unknown number (including toll free numbers). They never leave a message. If it were legit they would leave a message with why they are calling and a number/name for me to return the call. They never leave a message and call repeatedly.

If it's not a scam, they should leave a message. When they just call repeatedly and don't leave a voicemail message - it's a scam.

This is the 2nd call in 3 days.  I just picked up the phone and then hung up.  My wife is asleep and I didn't want the call to wake her.........again!!  I called them and it is AAA trying to get my wife to reinstate her membership.  The man I spoke to cleared the account from any further calls.  He was very pleasant and helpful.  A rarity among telemarketers in general.

Answ'd accedently muted it and a female Asked if i wanted to come take a nap an she said dont worry rose wouldnt bother me.

Male called, didn't wait for message on answering machine, just started talking.  It's a telemarketer and I am on the DNC list.

I work for AAA, this is the number for the 3rd party vendor that calls for membership renewals.

I finally picked up and actually did renew my AAA with them. Then I was suspicious and called the number back to make sure i had just given my credit card info to a legitimate company. They answered as "AAA member services" Pretty shady though. they should really leave a message

I've starting calling them back from work.  I call them, a guy named Matthew answers, and I don't say anything to him, but just hung up.  I hope they like it as much as I do.

Because I moved, I was glad to get the call.  I was stranded last week and they were a real savior!

If your AAA membership expires then AAA WILL send a renewal form. DON'T beleive the crap on this thread. If you know it's expired then renew it yourself

They say they're calling from the "Renewal Dept" of AAA.  He gave me his first and last name and the same phone number for calling him back.  I called my AAA branch, they didn't know anything about it.  I called my State Attorney General's office, and they said it may or may not be legit, but don't give them your credit card info.  I called AAA Corporate, and they said yes, they use a 3rd party for renewals.  I complained that even if it's legit, they shouldn't be asking for a credit card or bank info, and it puts the members at risk because some not-legitimate entity could take advantage of this and start a scam.  The AAA guy said they had received questions and complaints and he was going to take it to his manager and that they would have to address how these calls are made and how to protect their members (or former members).

Called me over the last few days and today I finally had time to answer. As others said, it was an informative call about my AAA membership (which I was certain I had paid). So, I told him I would double check everything when I got home and call to renew if I hadn't already paid the renewal. It was not a scam...I had, indeed, forgotten to renew. But, I wouldn't have renewed with this person anyway ... prefer to call AAA myself (just to be sure). The representative I got did not nag me for a card number or payment. Just said he'd make a note on the file that I would check the information later today.

Received 2 calls this week, in the evenings. No voicemail left

Say it is a curtousy call for my expired AAA membership, which is... she knew when expired, and also who else was on my membership. But was very persistant about getting my credit card to renew. I told her I would do it online and if I had a problem I would call. She kept trying to get me to let her take care of it and wanted the card info. I finally hung up. she called right back, I did not answer.  Total of four today. They wait for my machine to come on and just breath in it for awhile.  I have had AAA for many years, but if this is the way they think they're going to keep customers they are wrong.

I am hesitant on this call--they said they are from AAA and my membership expired which it did--the lady was too pushy but really nice--I won't give them my credit card number did not have a good feeling on this.

I called the number back and left a message asking to be removed. They answer as AAA CPI card center.  AAA says they have nothing to do with this outfit.  They call using multiple 800 and 888 numbers, probably scamming to get you to join AAA and get a credit card number payment. This kind of company is nothing but scum!!!  Especially trying to trash the name of AAA.
