Sue them.

If Charter is calling your cell phone (not landline) without your express consent, you can start a class action under the TCPA (Telephone Consumer Protection Act).

I am being represented in a TCPA case by the IHateTelemarketing attorneys:
http://ihatetelemarketers.com

Highly recommend speaking with them if you're willing to be a class rep.

Have past due w/payment arrangements but they call several time per day anyhow. Told the live person and they told me that Charter will continue this method until the past payment is made regardless. Polite but a too bad attitude.

We received 4 robocalls today from this number and we do have Charter.  The  bill is not due for 5 days and it is current.  Their internet service sucks and if I had a choice, I would dump them in a millisecond.  Unfortunately they are the only cable/internet service provider in our area.  Weirdly, I haven't had any problems with their customer service.  But there is no need to call 4 times a day even if my bill was late!  I blocked them...when they call my phone it doesn't even ring, it just disconnects them haha

Verizon dos the same thing. I just called my bank &  put a stop payment on ANYTHING  Verizon, since I switched to T-Mobile (paying is such sweet sorrow). They launched an investigation into payments I missed on my account.
Ideal finished.
But remember to call again in 6 months as they can re-post their bogus charges.

This is not Charter, they are scamming the use of their name and old recordings.  They ask you for your info which Charter does not.  They are seeking account info and Credit Card payments.

Calls 4-8 times daily no message and when I look up the number its charter. We've had alot of very poor service both internet and cable TV plus their rate is ridiculous that I'm looking for a change of server. They don't negotiate or give customers any sort of break and yet they offer all these "deals" to get you hooked. We pay our  bills so this is just harassment.

Actually, that's only true up to the capabilities of the physical media (wires, etc.) between them and you. If your wires and cables can only handle 30MB that's the most you'll ever get, no matter how much they send you. No matter which software settings you change, you can't change the physical properties of the wires.

I have had the same thing, my bill is paid in full every month and I get about that many calls too the past 3 days. It should be illegal (check your records Charter!!!!) and as soon as I get off work I'm calling them back on the normal number that I pay the bill with and complain.

This number called me on 5/27/14 @ 7:58AM, 3:24PM, 1:14PM, and 9:33PM. on 5/28/14 they called at 1:03P, 2:39P, 3:44P, 4:09P, 5:06P, and 6P. Each call within an hour of each other. Today they called so far only three times, 11:19A, 1:38P, and 2:30P. I believe this is Charter Communications. These idiots don't even realize that my bill was already paid in full before the harassing calls started. Shouldn't it be illegal to call every hour? I can't wait to cancel them. They have horrible service and harassing tactics. I'd recommend you all do the same!

This is Charter Communications and they call me approximately 20 times an hour. Sometimes when you answer it will ask you to hold for the next available operator, as if I'm going to do that. Then when someone is there when you answer, they either want my bill paid in full, which is never late so I'm not sure I understand why or they want me to upgrade my service. These calls are extremely annoying and I'm now looking into switching my cable, internet and phone service to another company. Even if it costs a few dollars more, it will be worth it to me to make the harassing phone calls stop.

Keep getting calls from this number although it is not my service and I don't use this phone much or give out the number.  Not sure if it's a robo-call, but it's not appreciated!

Called everyday during the middle of my classes, at least 2 or 3 times. Left a message saying it was charter. I answered today, and the lady said she was calling on behalf of Charter, and that my Charter bill hadn't been paid since February.  My grandfather pays the bills while I go to school,  and he says he's paid them every month.  Then the lady asked if I would be paying the balance with check or card, and wanted a credit card number over the phone. Still unsure if this is actually charter or a scam, you usually are never asked for a credit card number over the phone.

HONESTLY Ben! Wouldn't have a problem paying Charter in advance for an Over-Priced Bundle w/Cable, High Speed internet, and Land Line (ironically I'm paying THEM to call ME 10 times/day on that very same phone) I wouldn't mind at all if Charter didn't provide the absolute WORST service we've ever had the pleasure of paying for in advance! On a nightly basis, we lose signal in the middle of a movie or favorite show.

I paid my bill, and when I called them back, their robot - yes, robot, as there was no option in any of their menus to speak to a person - STILL called me repeatedly. Their robot CONFIRMED that I had zero balance on my account when I called it back as their voice mail instructed. This does not make me happy with their customer service in any way - they are very lucky their only competition in my area has such poor service it's virtually unusable.

I forgot to add you can call charter and they should like most companies have a do not solicit list within their customers which means if you call and ask they have to stop calling for added services, mailing, emailing ect. I don't know for sure if charter has one but most companies do. Honestly if you owe a bill pay it. If you refuse to pay a month ahead realize almost everything is paid in advance Ie: cell phone, rent, utilities are usually guestimated a month ahead, honestly other then a loan most normal things we use are paid a month ahead. I have never had a huge problem with charter. Its all about knowing what to say and how to say it. As a customer service rep I know I'm more inclined to give what I can to someone understanding and kind versus someone rude and demanding. this does not always work with every rep.

OK its charter, now as I read through this I have to make it clear, it's a hassle to go through the process of suing ect. If you do not have service with charter and they call explain that you just received this number recently and or you are not the customer they are searching for. Its very simple they are collections and they can only collect from someone they owe. If they refuse demand to speak to a supervisor because they are wrong and they can no longer proceed business. I worked collections and the laws are simple do not call means do not call with one exception of current and past customers because of collections. If they are trying to sell you something regardless of your relationship with the company do not call is required. However realize that any company who knows what they are doing will take them up to 30 days to remove you as they probably call 100,000 numbers if not more. its not as simple as removing a number, they have to rewrite the whole list and reprogram it.

These people keep calling my house 8 to 10 times a day. I never answer unknown numbers because it is usually some time of infomercial anyway ...it wasn't until I googled the number and wound up here that I realized I wasn't the only one they are harassing. The had better hope theirs no one on the other end next time  they call. I work 3rd shift and they keep waking me up. that's a good way to get cursed out!! The sad part about it is .I don't even use charter services! I use direct t,.v

They call me too 1 day after they send me the bill. They insist I pay a month in advance. I ask, "Why should I pay for something I have not received?" and... "What if I paid for next month and decide I want to cancel?"

To answer the first question, it is the way their payment system is set up.
To answer the 2nd question, if I cancel and I have money coming to me, they will send me a check.

Neither one of those answers make sense to me. So, because I refuse to pay a month in advance, they charge me a $7.98 late fee. Tjhey charge me a late fee for a service I have not yet received.

I received a bill. I didn't get paid until today. I called them on the 14 of March, 2014 and told them to note my account. The lady said she would. That is when the calls began....Once a day for the past week. The robo-woman voice just says to call back that  this is a courtesy call. I have paid my bill but this month I got behind. I am just tired of receiving calls daily when i called them before to let them know the situation.

I would cancel my service, however, this is the only company that provides reliable service in my area.

I have reported this number once before and they stopped calling for a while.  They have started again and as before are asking for a Sandra Grey.  I have had this number for four years.  The number is listed as belonging to Charter.  I do not have Charter and do not wish to get involved with anything Charter does.  I will give them one more chance to stop calling.  If they do not, I WILL REPORT THEM TO THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU!!!!!!!

Everything is fine with them calling you 3 times a day if you have an overdue bill with them.  Its their money and they can collect.
Also if you tell them to not call you they can still call you, you have to write them a cease and desist letter for them to never call you again.
As for you going after them for anything, you will not see a penny.  They get fines to pay and those fines do not come to you.

I hate more then anyone to stick up for a bad company like this, but when its false information given to a consumer it has to be corrected.

Thanks much :)
