Yes thats so true just trying to save and they end up offering some kind of savings but are really screwing the consumer over

I just received my pg&e bill  vista charged me 50.50 for lp gas. I thought I was suppose to save, pg still charged me 21.96 for gas delivery who's really scewing who over"I think the consumer like an you are getting screwed over. It's all about money not us consumers

I talked to my PG&E about my bill last month and he told me Vista energy actually charged my gas usage more than PG&E, Im so mad! The guy from Vista first time convince me to switch the company said always disccount atleast 2% everymonth compare to PG&E. Thats a cheater and SCAM!

In costume, no less! As you later reflected, (bad pun intended) why would a sales rep have to dress like a line tech, except to trigger in you the most likely mental image of "power company person". The request for a sample bill is reportedly for the sole purpose of extracting account data so that your service can be "slammed", meaning shunted to a new provider without your clear consent.

This ruse was once popular with telephone service resellers. The details are different with power resellers but the idea is the same. While you may have found a "nice lady" when the jig was up, that should not mollify you too much to take your story to your PUC and state AG.

You're a shill and a liar. The only positive comments on this threat are obviously from the company. The real posts fully document the history of lies, push tactics, and deceit to sign people up for something they don't want or need under false pretenses. Your lies don't convince anyone here.

I've been working for Blue Spruce for several months.  I leave every customer I sign up my phone number on their receipt and I have not received one complaint ever.  Blue Spruce is legit and customers can end the program any time without a cancellation fee.  I know some of the other companies though make the customers sign contracts with hidden cancellation fee and other hidden monthly fees so be careful when signing up.

A Vista rep came to my door in a yellow reflective vest asking for my gas bill to make sure I was getting a discount.  Since my neighbor had recently told me that a PG&E rep had come to her house to install new light fixtures and enroll her in a discount program (and I was just finishing up a phone call with a new client when the Vista rep came to the door), I just thought the guy at my door was from PG&E & gave him my bill.  While I was finishing up my call with my client, he started filling out a form & explaining that I was going to start getting a 10% discount.  After he left, I started realizing that he wasn't associated with PG&E in any way and that there was no reason for him to be wearing a vest other than to look like he was from PG&E.  Therefore I checked them out (finding this thread), and I found that their membership with BBB was revoked due to numerous complaints.  I called the # on the Vista form to stop the sign up process, and the lady was very nice & stopped my account from being processed without any questions.  At least they have that going for them...

Someone knocked on my door this evening and after 2 minutes of her pitch, I had no idea what Vista does! She said PG&E hired her to enroll customers in a savings plan then she wanted my bill for my info?? If PG&E hired her to contact PG&E customers, shouldn't she have my info? By the way, anyone in this forum that endorses Vista is obviously associated with Vista. It's a scam and you've been warned.

Vista is a SCAM!!!!! I am glad to see the monopoly of PG&E taken down, and there is still good companies to choose from, unfortunately vista is not one of them. Check into Ambit, Seminole, YEP Northstar, Tiger, and Blue Spruce. These companies have a good history and some have a rate sheet to prove they are good.

Just had someone show up at my house from VISTA.  Fast talking showing all these charts and letters from PG&E.  Told me I would save $20 a year and then gave me a form to complete.  I told him that I have never heard of VISTA and would like to do some research.  Can I have the form and complete it later. He yanked the form out of my hand and said no.  He then left.

As of today, VISTA's status according to the BBB is "Revoked".  It appears there has been a lot of complaints with little to no action to resolve by VISTA. These guys must be scammers if they do not want you to research their company before signing the contract.  Some of the positive comments I have read on this site looks too good to be true and probably completed by some of their employees.

BBB say stay away and so do I.

I have been researching all the third party suppliers thru PG&E's choice program and Vista is by far the best. They are the only company with out a contract, there is no cancellation fee and changing back to PG&E takes one phone call. I signed up with Vista 3 months ago and my bill has reduced by 2.6% last month. THe rep who came to my door originally, was polite and able to answer questions, she was even nice when I told her I needed to research it for myself. She gave me her name and phone number in case I had questions. I also live in Sacramento County and was pleased by their service for the 3 months now

Blue Spruce is on  of the Best co. to with for that program on saving on the bill. If they contacted you, you are actually lucky cause they are the better co. to go with. I can't begin to tell you how good of a co. they are. Go with it, it's pretty good on it's word. Awesome!!  Majority of my area went with this person: 707-739-6499. We found that this person with the co. is legit.

Actually, Vista's BBB rating is NOT A, it is NR (Not Rated). Vista is NR at this time because the BBB is currently re-evaluating the company:

On the BBB's website, the last sentence is bolded. Based on that, when the salesman returns to speak with my husband, we will politely decline.

I co-own a small business and someone came into our shop trying to get us to sign up for Vista Energy.  I wasn't clear on what it was they do, but I asked for some more information to look over because I had to get back to work.  I was told to just read the back of the sign-up form, which is just a lot of legal jargon about terms and conditions and doesn't tell you anything about their services.  Looking back this seemed strange.   Normally a sales person will leave a business card and a pamphlet about their services for you to review.  This person only had the sign-up form, which I was not going to sign until I knew what the service was.

After doing some research, I checked with the Better Business Bureau website.  The sale person told me they had a rating of A, the website as of today says "rating under review".  I found this site full of warnings and complaints, and still cannot figure out what Vista Energy DOES.  As far as I can see, you're still getting your gas through PG&E, they're transporting it, maintaining the equipment, and keeping track of how much you use, but you're paying them AND Vista Energy for it?  

Also, who wants to bet truthinreality works for Vista Energy?  WTF is with the "I'm a Christian..." rhetoric?

Vista Energy is a scam.  They tell you that you will save money on your gas bill if you buy your gas from them but it will actually cost you about double paying PG & E and Vista.  Scam, Scam, Scam!

No phone call but a guy just came to my door and started right in with a pitch that made it sound like he was some kind of sub-company partnered with PG&E to lower my bill.  "I just need to see a copy of your bill to get some information from it."  WTF?!  No way am I gonna show some stranger my bill. I asked him if there was a website that I could find out about all this and he gave me "vistaenergy.com" (and gave me his agent # to get a commission, I suppose).  When I told him that I want to look at a website he said he could wait here while I look.  No, I don't think so fella!  I said goodbye and just did some Googling that brought me here.  (Now I'm kinda worried he looked up my name or something or at some code on my meter and will sign me up without wanting to?)  Anyway, his direct and abrupt request to see my bill with no explanation struck me as really "scammy" so I got rid of him. If Vista Energy Marketing were truly 'scamming' people, their would be many similar complaints on multiple sites, which at this time...do not even exist. In comparison to other gas suppliers, Vista has very few actual complaints and currently has an 'A' rating with the BBB. It's important to remember the FACT that some unscrupulous competitive gas companies will participate in false 'comments' in an attempt to bash the successful and ethical competition.

Vista Energy Marketing has an impressive customer base, many of which are without contracts who could leave at anytime with no 'termination fees' whatsoever. If a business like Vista were to operate outside of integrity, they wouldn't last...as customers would leave in droves. Obviously, this is not the case with Vista as the company continues to grow and thrive.

I would urge anyone reading this to do your own thorough due diligence in comparison with other gas suppliers, before reaching your conclusion about Vista. I actually did one about 4 months ago, prior to working for Vista as a contractor. I found one competitor that I won't name, with 426 logged complaints against them. As a Christian, I personally wouldn't represent any company, regardless of the income potential, if they had a  reputation for dishonest business practices. While no gas company or any company for that matter is perfect, Vista seems to be doing a real good job thus far.

I am also in the same situation, except that I can't even call Vista Energy. They told me to leave a message and then hung up. Does it really take up to 7 days to reset your account?

I have been getting these calls too. I run a home business, so I only have one gas/electric supplier for home/Biz.  What made me suspicious is that they call my business line which has no utilities associated with it and ask for my PGE account number.  I have always found it best not to respond to telephone solicitations.  How can you even know if they are legit?  I think it's good policy always to initiate a business transaction yourself.

Vista came to my door, my sister signed up, then they both ( pg&e and Vista ), charge me in the same bill. My pg&e bill was always around $25, now my bill is those $25 plus $26 from Vista = $51. More than 100%. This is a complete scam. Don't trust them. Im f****n pissed, Im calling to cancel this s***. sorry for the words, but its true.

i've had vista salesmen at my door TWICE in less then a week. First they lied and said they were from PG&E (a crime in calif.) One guy looked like he was on drugs. After the first visit i called PG&E who told me they were NOT employed by them. On the second visit 2 new guys showed up in a old beat-up car and tried the same scam. When they were told to leave by me and my neighbors -one of them called my wife "a fat bi***".  Needless to say we were pissed off. If vista can't even hire real salesmen then what kind of bs company are they?

Someone got visit on our place and offering thier service and asking my wife signature to register even though our pg&e account is under my name. This people are scamer i hope they not come back again or else i will report them to the police. If they knock on your door dont entertain this scamer and ask them to leave.

I thought I would mention I had a great experience with Vista.  I interacted with a very pleasant representative, AND I have had a consistent reduction in my bills.  Gas is a commodity, so rates will not be exact, unless a fixed rate is chosen.  PG and E by default is variable rate, and they do not give you the option of a fixed rate. Vista is variable rate, and there is no termination fee should I want to cancel.
