I received a telephone call from this number, claiming to be  from "your financial institution".  After 2 minutes of holding and being bombarded by loud "rock " music played poorly on a guitar, I finally heard from "Debby from your institution."  I challenged to tell me who she is and what "your institution" is.  When she repeated the spiel, I spoke up louder, and repeated my question.  She hung up, and I still have no clue who she is.  I received another phone call from this number, while I was away.  That time, no one left a message as to why they were calling.  I have been on the Federal Do Not Call list since its first day.

888-918-7331 left computerized voice message for daughter who goes to college in California, claiming to be from Washington School Employees Credit Union.  Told to call 877-500-7697 for regarding an important matter. Definitely a scammer of some type.

888-918-7331 made four calls, left one message on my work number.  This is a number I only give out on credit applications when they ask for my work number (otherwise off limits).

They did not leave a name, just saying they were from my credit union and had to discuss a matter regarding my account (mind you I have many accounts through my credit union).  I called my credit union and it was in no way affiliated with them.

Obvious robocall, said to call my bank "regarding an important matter." No other information given. Since nobody's bank would use an autocall to contact a customer over something important, I Googled the number and every hit was over spam calls. This one's also going to be reported to the BBB.

I got a message from someone who did not leave a name and told me to call my credit union.  There's only one problem--my credit union serves a local university, and only that university, so the only phone number they have is one that is local to my area code.  I even checked the web site to see if it was a number they owned, and lo and behold, nope--no 1-888 numbers to be found.  They did have my first and last name, so obviously they got it from somewhere---there have been a couple of hacking incidents involving the university's computers, and I know in one of them they got my information because I was once employed there.  I do not have outstanding debts, so this was not a debt collection call.  I think it is highly suspicious that the person would not leave their NAME on my answering machine as well.  It's highly unprofessional, not to mention a heck of a time waster to try to find out who it is that called you!  Since I am stopping by my credit union tomorrow, I'm going to tell them about it and ask them if I need to do something to protect my account.

I had the same thing happen to me. They called my neighbor, and left her a message asking for me. I called an attorney friend of mine, and sure enough, it is illegal for them to do that. I was told by my attorney friend that them doing that, and with an affidavit from the neighbor, it can be construed as harassment, and the collection can be tossed out.

I have rec'd a number of calls from this number - I called them back this was about a year ago, it was a courtesy call to tell them they had a wrong number, that no such person lives at the number they were calling. Like a dummy I gave them my name and the next thing I know they have me in collections with my bank, on and on they went. I was furious and told them I didn't have any problems with my bank and if it was so I would contact them directly. The lady insisted she could transfer me to the bank collections and talk with them to resolve my account. She would not stop talking and kept asking me for my account number and other questions and was very insistent so I hung up and called my bank. The bank confirmed there were no issues that it sounded like a scam. What was scary the caller knew where I banked and I told my bank, was it a guess or did I say something? For days after that I got collection calls from the same number and they would leave an automated message for me but like the original call the name was distorted.A year later they are calling again for a "Roger Kowawaske, same thing last name really distorted. They claim they are from Infinity Bank. I don't answer numbers I don't recognize and most don't leave a message. What's weird is this place leaves a 1-877-500-7697 number that is listed in this directory as a scam call. So if you answer be alert they are very nice at first and ask seemly innocent questions and the next thing you know they got you!

Credit Unions aren't governed by the FDCPA only 3rd party collection agencies which this is not. This is my Credit Union and I forgot to change my address and I didnt get my statement. If they would not have called me I would have a late payment on my Credit Report. These "Morons" as someone called them, may have saved my credit score. Gosh get a clue.

Hi Salvatore,

Your credit union is using our services to help make calls to members who may have just forgotten to make their credit card payment.  PSCU is a Credit Union Service Organization, not a collections agency.  We work as an extension of the credit union.  The phone number is a direct line into our offices.  If you call your credit union and reach the collections area they can confirm it with you.  I can assure you there is no scam. Feel free to contact me directly at 727 299-2416

They called stating they were from my Credit Union (even using its name), but the number did not even work when I called it. I got another automated call using a different number and saying the same thing. I checked my credit union's web site, and they have an alert about an identity theft scam. This is it. Do not give out any information if you get this call.

This is a scam. They called my work #, left a message stating they were with my Credit Union. When I called the 888 number back, they answered as "Card Services". They claimed that they couldn't find my work number in their system so they then asked for either my account number or SS number. I promptly hung up and called my credit union directly. My account was fine and they had not tried to call me.
Don't fall for this scam!

I called the #, spoke to a gentleman who said he himself was a representative for "Christian Debt Relief" but he works for what he called a clearing house for multiple #'s and could only apologize for not being able to help me.

That is a bit harsh don't you think? These are just people doing a job, just like you and I. Perhaps you have never been late or forgotten to pay a bill therefore you have never gotten a call from one of the "morons", but then again some people show ignorance by making moronic comments about people that they don't now nor will ever (I hope) know)

You people just don't get it do you? If you are past due on accounts you will get calls, Or if your neighbors are past due you may get calls, they can NOT I repeat NOT tell you why they are calling if you are not the "card holder" so calm down a bit. As a general rule, if you aren't lateo r over limit you won't get called.
