Received a call from a guy from this number....all I could hear as his last words was I be there between an hour and an hour and a half.  Then, hung up.  I tried calling back but the number is not in service.

I could hear the elderly gentleman telling a woman it was her fault she dialed the wrong number.  It sounds like this number is used by geriatric folks to make calls, and wrong numbers are probably numerous.  I did not hear of feel any dishonesty or alterior motive in this call, and it sounded like a legitimate wrong number by folks who are probably prone to simply dial numbers incorrectly, or perhaps out of looking for hope?  

This number called me and it hung up. I would like to know who called me.

I have received at least a dozen calls. Man is asking for Betty Gwen. I told him the first time he had the wrong number. He wanted to know if I was in Princeton, NC. He also asked my husband the same when I had him to answer. I have his calls sent straight to voicemail. It would be nice if he would stop calling.

It is definitely WakeMed.  Have a friend @ WakeMed, spoke w/someone at the nurses station on that floor, left a message for her nurse and when the nurse called back 919-232-2400 showed up on the caller ID, with the name "Unknown".

Call is from wake med. Had ultra sound scheduled.

I missed this number and tried calling back but the number is out of service. I had a mamagram last week and i'm thinking it is a follow up call on my results, would that be the case?

My daughter had surgery recently and we had to call and page the pediatric surgeon on call.  I had received calls from this number but not tied them to the hospital visit, and marked the # telemarketer.  I did not answer the first time the surgeon called back.  Then I checked this site and saw Wakemed, and I answered the 2nd time -- it was the surgeon.  Be very careful in avoiding this call, if that's what you choose to do.

I haved received six phone calls from this number in the last two days and a total of nine in the last ifive days.  Since it came to my cell number I put a "lock" on the number.

This is the number that appears with all outgoing calls from WakeMed North Healthplex.  If you were a patient in the Emergency Department, it is most likely from the follow-up nurse checking on you.

It's Wake Med. Due to HIPPA they make a dummy number. Imagine if someone found your phone and found a number for a gynocologist or a pathology department, people would know you went to a certain doctor. By using the dummy number, they can protect your privacy. Those of you that are annoyed that you got a phone call probably don't deserve the doctor's time anyway.

I received three calls from this number on Jan. 3rd. @7:54 am, 1:10 pm, & 4:36.  I live in North Carolina i wonder, the distance these calls goes.  I also, call back and got an recording that this is not a working number.  Why, would it ring my cell number.  I have not had any friends, or family in the hospital.  Just wondering, it seem strange.

All of you guys can calm down - 232-2400 is the number that is displayed any time ANY Wake Med employee dials out, so when you try to dial it to return the call, it is not a legitimate inbound number. I have worked several places where this was the case. It's completely a privacy thing.

yea i got a call from this number too, picked up, said hello twice but still no answer so i hung up. now im worried...does this mean someone close to me is in the hospital?

The number IS from Wake Medical Center...I always google a number when I don't recognize it.  I know several nurses there, and luckily they called back when I didn't answer the first time.  The number is an unmanned dummy line for their switchboard.

It IS Wake Med.  It is their "dummy number" and if it shows up on your caller ID it means someone is at the ER and is hurt and is asking the Chaplain to call you.  This has now happened to me 2 times in one month unfortunatly....so if you see the number answer it!

I got a call from the same number and it said no longer in service.  Howerver earlier in the week I received several phone calls from 801-618-2020 the same thing happend.. grrrrr

got a call from same number, It rang only once or twice. Caller ID said it was Wake Meical Center though when you call it you get a message rhat it is no longer in service, 919-232-2400 at 11:55 AM April 03,

I got a call from this number from a family member and determined that  it is a number in a patient's room at Wake Med Hosptial in Raleigh, NC - so I guess a sick person could dial a number by mistake.

Got a call this morning at about 6:50a.m.  None my guys have their heads together that early to be calling me, so luckily I didn't answer.  After checking here, I'm glad I didn't.

I got the same thing. I sent it to voice mail not knowing the number and you can't call it back.

took 2 mins of my airtime. waited for someone/something to talk, but nothing. jerks...
