i was confused as well when i got the call them i traced the number and yes i had a pending case against me  for not paying a best buy debt i had yrs bac still in statue i eneded up paying 450 more than what i owed..i thought it was a scam also but im glad my father lent me the money to pay bac what i owed

Got a phone call from someone saying they are going to be serving me a summons complaint and that I am being sued.  Only, I called the county courthouse and they have no record of any case against me.  Not sure how I can be getting summoned to court for a case that isn't even filed.  It also strikes me as odd that they would notify me of the summons in the first place.  I guess I will find out later today.

this company is a complete scam...after recieving phone calls several months ago regarding a so called bad debt, they told me I would be served and sued, and the only way to stop this from happening was to sent thousands of dollars western union by 5pm that night!  Seriously people....if it were a legit company, they would have your correct address on file, and a real process server would show @ your door to serve you.  Also they would give a a legit case # and tell you exactly what the debt is.  They are scam artists trying to intimidate.  Don't let them do this to you.  Ask them to send you documentation and proof of said debt to the address they have on file, and demand they stop calling you, if they become aggressive with you, get aggressive back!!!!!  Don't be scammed!!!!!

My husband an I got this same call. The same story. He actualy called my husbands grandmother an said that we missed 2 apts. to sign leagal papers an everything. Which is something new to us. We have never got one paper or anything relating to this matter. After reading all these post I think I will just play the waiting game. Was ready to contact our lawyar but not wasting my time.

I googled this company, It said that the buy off old charge offs of any old bills such as medical, credit card, aor anything like that.

I get harassing calls from this number all of the time.  I know I owe some debts but there is no reason to be harassed by people.  I have tried to make payment arrangements but they will not settle on anything.  They call and harass my old job and my parents all of the time as well.  My attorney actually told me I might have a legal case against them and we may be able to sue for court fees, legal fees, and suffering IF this company is doing one thing in particular and that one thing breaks the Fair Debt Collections Act.  I am going to answer the phone when they call each time because I am hoping to get them on record breaking the law!  They have already broken it before talking to me on the phone, so I need to get more details next time to give to the Lawyer. Ask them for your case # & attorney numbers(for the company they use or claim to be) when talking to them.  They cannot threaten with a judgement if they do not have one by law, so they have to give the case info to you when you ask, and if they cant give you that info, then they have broken the Fair Debt Collections Act and you can sue them.. GET names and numbers when you talk to them..

I got a message also. It was from Nina, she did not give a company name just that she was from Special Crimes Department and had a file number. She said I needed to get back to her in 3 hours or she would take further action? She called at 1:34 PM, I was at work and did not get the message until the next day. I have never had a Discover Card. I am not sure what to do about this?

Yep, I think they are scammers also. I had some bad debt, but that was years ago. Im going to see if I can report them to the Texas Attorney General

they are Debt collectors. they make it sound like you being served and sued, and will garnish wages, they cannot do that in my state. lol I told them if they send someone to my door ill have my pit bull answer the door. They even called my little brothers cell???? how they get that I dont know

I am tired of being scammed by these people.  Our family has been through a flood, a fire, and a car accident almost killing us and leaving us all badly injured.  This harassment needs to stop.  Most process servers come to your door with papers, they don't call you on the phone.  Plus, they don't even know our correct address.  This, in addition to everyone else's posts leads me to believe that this is a scam.  Our family wants to be left alone and I'm sure I'm speaking for everyone else's families as well.

I'm so sorry about your parents, they are doing the same thing to us and it made me literally shake they were so aggressive and mean.  The man yelled into the phone that they are going to sue my disabled mother and I began to cry as I was shaking.  Please tell me this is a scam.  I can't think of one thing she would be sued over.  I can only imagine how your parents feel.  How are they taking it?

Everyone watch out for this number on your caller ID, these people were very threatening and rude on top of their scam.  Then they hung up on me.

I got the same call with the same manner, the man threatened my mother and then hung up on me.  He told me that he is going to sue my mother.  Can you believe this?  They have a lot of nerve first trying to scam us and then being so rude and hanging up on us on top of that.

They are trying to say that we have a pending law suit and they won't even tell us what it is about.  They were also very rude to us when they were the one's who were trying to scam us.

This company keeps calling my 84 year old parents giving a "case Number" when I called they told me they were process servers. They keep calling even though I tried to tell them we dont know that person.

Someone just called my cell from a private number & left a message for someone. They said they are calling from Nationwide Documents and their name is Mr Anderson.

They left the full name and address of the person they are looking for and said it was in regards to a complaint filed by the person they are looking for.

The said the number to call back is 1 888 959 9626.

i too thought they were a scam! They told me the same thing and also knew 2 of my old addresses n asked me verify which is current. I hung up. Well 3 weeks later my mgr paged me 2 security office @Target where i was served by a sheriff! I tried callin LVNV 2 resolve n twice was told sorry,just appear on ur court date or it will be a default judgement.

Yeah, I got the same type call... for the SECOND time about the SAME account... ALWAYS, ALWAYS ask that they send you written proof of the debt that is purportedly owed... tell them you will be glad to discuss it with then when  you are holding the written proof in your hand... then hang up.  Always register a complaint aboout these type calls.  Get as much information as possible.

Some guy with LVNV Called my ex who then contacted me.  Guy with "LVNV" regarding a "liability case".  I Called them back IMMEDIATELY because I'm sick and tired of this BS... finally got hold of a DARREN JOHNSON  purportedly with LVNV in California who told me I was being sued by DISCOVER CARD... funny thing is that in August of 2011 I got the SAME call from another outfit about the Discover Card ... GOLDMAN ROTH --- and this DARREN JOHNSON gave me the identical information down to the penny about amounts owed... I told Darren Johnson I had paid this .. He wanted "proof" so I went to my bank and got the information from my bank and called the dude back in about 45 minutes... he backed off... I offered to email the info to him but he declined, said he would "check it out" with Goldman Roth and call me back in couple of hours...  which he didn't ... and when I called HIM back I got his voice mail so I left a message with him that I wanted to hear from him ASAP to get this debacle cleared up.

Sounds like a bill collector grasping at straws on a very old bill that is about to hit the statue of limitations. If he thinks his "stern" voice and fast-talking, using big intimidating words on my voicemail is going to procure a call back, he has another thing coming. And especially since its not even my problem.

Has been calling for months. Has contacted ex, mother and other family members.

Got a call from a Randy Welker stating he was from "Document service Division" and was calling about Asset Liability Investigation and a pending action.  He asked me to call the company back at 888-959-9626 and gave me a policy numner.  

But everything I look online say that this could mean it is a collection company or a scam... AND I dont owe anyone and have not been late on any bill.  

Has anyone else gotten a call about this.  I dont want to call if it is a Scam.
