These people have been calling me for almost 3 yrs! Whenever I ask for a physical address / company letterhead they will not provide it. They have harassed my mother and would be very nasty. I contacted an attorney and he called all the numbers I provided. When he finally reached someone and identify himself  they  would not give him any information and hung up on him. This was in Aug. 2013! Today I received another phone which came up unknown. I was left a message the caller identify himself as Mike. He stated that if I did not return the call a judgement would be made against me. He left the phone number 18889636604. I google the number it came as one of the numbers that calls and harass people. I have kept all numbers. I reported this to my Attorney today.

Not only has Charter been calling from several different #'s, and sometimes 3 times in one day...they began to call from a blocked/private #.  I answered the phone and told the woman that I was going to file a BBB compalint if they do not stop harrassing me.   They had been sabotaging my magic jack, and now it is way worse.  They actually make my calls competely drop.  I read on one of these blogs that some guy had the same sabotage problem with their magic jack, and when they changed providers the problem went away.  Does anyone out there have a magic jack that they are sabotaging?  I need to confirm it because I wrote to our Mayor, to complain about the two bad providers, AT&T stayed down more than it was up and now Charter will not stop harrassing me with calls and they are sabotaging the magic jack.  They would be the last company I would buy phone service from.  I am now pretty sure they are even listening in on my calls.  Since I threatened to file a BBB complaint they have made my calls drop and my person I call cannot hear me.  From their end the line goes dead.   If you have a magic jack and it is being sabotaged, please post it here...or post if you saw it on another blog post like this one.  I do not have all the #'s they have used to call me, and I am going to check the three numbers the guy posted in this chain.  I am building up stuff to show the Mayor, and if he does nothing, then I will contact the newspaper or TV...maybe even 60 minutes might be interested here.   Anyway, I need to find others who this company is sabotaging their magic jack.  I think they know about these blogs and are retaliating.  Any magic jack users of anyone who knows about anyone having this problem, kindly post it on here.  Thank you.   I am not under contract, but the city fathers are, and with good proof of the evil, and what seems maybe illegal, marketing tactics this company is using can be grounds for my city to dump these evil jerks.  Please help me and I will try to help you convince your city fathers to give you more options.  We have only these two bad companies.  I look forward to hearing from someone else with the same ridiculous problem.   I feel like this is not even real life.  But in a computer age,
it is all true.  With legislators we have, anything goes with big business.  Blocking does not work, when they keep changing numbers.   But my #1 issue is them sabotaging my magic jack.   Thank you for your time to anyone who reads this and can help me slay this giant and very evil dragon on my back.   +

I am very pissed. I receive a call almost every day from this number. here's the thing: I have had no dealings with charter in the past. my parents use charter, but as far as i'm aware my cell # has never been given anywhere by my parents, and i sure as hell haven't given my # to charter. in fact, i refrain at all times from releasing my # anywhere online. can anyone tell me why they would be calling someone who has never had any contact with charter and is not even through college yet? Why the F*** would i need to talk to charter?!

Charter sales. I've told them over and over I wasn't interested in what they are selling. So I blocked the number. They still try to get through.

yes it is charter, I blocked their calls with an Android app. but if they find out your number is from a cell phone, they will text you!!! just got 2 Text messages from them today, saying,, ("I will call you back shortly") they seem to be in the business of harassment...

3 times in 1 day and multiple others. STOP!!!!!!!!!!!

Log In to your charter account.  at the very bottom of the page Click "Your Privacy Rights"  --> "Privacy Preferences"  --> Fill out the form, check the boxes at the bottom and click "SUBMIT"

I have only had Charter for 6 months, only because nobody else services our area for a computer hook up.  They have called every single month wanting to sign me up for cable tv as well.  I tell them every single time I have a contract for 2 years with someone else and I cant change now, but they still keep calling and asking the same thing.  I don't pick up any more and they dont leave a message, but they still keep calling!  AAGH!

They called and didn?t leave a message. After reading these posts, blocking their number now with a call blocker.

Missed a call from this number....called it back.....guy asks me for name.address...etc...and account number...I told the guy it was installed 6 days ago....no bill in the mailbox yet...Im at work...dont have even the technicians slip with me...says he cant discuss it for security reasons with out a pin or a/c #.....so I ask why did you call...."without the a/c #..yadyada"...now you have a great day, thank you for choosing Charter ".....

I do not want marketing or sales telephone calls from Charter Communications.  This number repeatedly calls me and I would like to be removed from the call list.  Put me on the DO NOT CALL list.

It's Charter. They keep calling me.  I do not want any more of their services than what I already have.

Don't know why they need to be reminded every two weeks that I'm not interested in additional services.

After reading the posts here, I don't have too much faith it actually works, but I just found a page on the Charter website that supposedly allows you to "unsubscribe" from their telemarketing phone list: http://unsubscribe.charter.com

Ok, here is how we deal with this. We got a home phone with call blocking. Uses a list, and also blocks all anon calls. My model is Panasonic KX-TGA660. We got them because of the whacked recall crap here in Wisconsin, but they shut down telemarkers too. Other companies probably offer this feature, google call blocker.

I am sooo sick and tied of Charter calling all the time...from this and other numbers.  I want a different company, but our city fathers only allows them and one that is even worse, AT&T.  It so stinks!  Charter is sabotaging my magic jack to try and make me buy their phone service.  Too bad that our legislators allow this type of treatment by companies.  Also too bad out city fathers allow it, too.  AT&T was down more than up with their internet service.  Now Charter is sabotaging the magic jack...makes people not be able to hear me and I can still hear them.  It so stinks!!!!   They are mean mean mean.  If you can avoid these companies, then you should do so.  I heard others say things got better with a different provider.   Wish my city fathers would allow another provider into our area.  So far, they will not.  No telling how much kick back the city gets.  It must be good for them to allow such bad companies to provide this bad service.  Avoid AT&T and Charter, if you can.  I bet Charter uses a computer dialer, to be doing this so much.

Just answer and they'll ask is this so and so, just say no and they will delete your number from their call list.  You shouldn't get a call for a couple months then.

Thank you for the information. I figured it was them but wasn't sure. I received a call that showed as "unknown" and I answered it thinking it might be my parents and it was them.  I told them I will call them if I want their services and hung up.

They call me every day and don't leave a message!  Very annoying!  I need to be able to block people like this!

Hello, The do not call list does not work for anything except land line phones. All Cell Phones are not covered.
