Beware! I think this is a hacking program to get your Verizon PIN number...this is not the real Verizon!

Someone needs to find out who owns this number as it is a scam. They will take your credit card number or anything that has a logo and skim it.

got the call from this number - Verizon password re-set.

Get your facts straight you paranoid wackos! This caller is not a scam. Verizon was just checking to confirm that I had changed my password on their website.

I got 22 calls from these people over a 40 minute time period. I did not answer, but this is ridiculous.

They called posing as Verizon to verify adding a mobile phone to my account (left a message on my machine). I do not have a mobile Verizon account although I have my cable and internet with this company. Checked my account and no mobile phone was added. Googled their number and found this page. Looks like phone phishing scam.

Like others I received a call with a recorded message stating that there had been a change to my mobile telephone number on my account. If I didn't make this change I should call the number. I looked at my information in my Verizon.com account and verified everything was as it should be. While logged in to my Verizon.com account I did make an update by updating my security questions & answers. within a minute after making the change I got this email to my primary email address:

Since the contact number in the email is the same as the contact number in the recorded message I received, I believe this is a legitimate phone number for Verizon. The only problem is that I didn't make any changes to my account before they called me telling me I did. Maybe that have glitches in their system?

Thanks. Didn't answer. I sent it to voicemail and then immediately had another call a few seconds later. Added this to my phone's block list.

Just go yt? A message feom this number saying I need to verify a change in my Verizon mobile plan. I use AT&T. Called to see what was going on and t he automated calling system said that my wait time was infinite. Gotta be a scam. I won't call back.

Got voice mail from this number which said that I had requested to add or change my "mobile telephone " number.
First of all, I DONOT have a mobile phone with Verizon.I do have my land phone and DSL with Verizon and have not changed it in over 10 years!. This is definitel a SCAM. It is not a legitimate Verizon call. I did not answer but they left voice mail message.

I received a automated call from , stating that it was in regards to my recently changing my phone number. I had not made any changes so I called the number 888-976-0259. They identified thereself as Verizon and wanted me to answer a security question. Not knowing if this call was legitimate, I refused. They then asked me for my home phone number and said they would call me back to verify my idenity. They never called back so I feel this was some kind of a scam
ohpoop 2013-12-16 23:23:37 Unknown
just got the call...followed up with a supervisor there... very fishy...ask lots of questions that may be legitimate but when you press for them to prove their credentials they are no longer professional.
Nor can I find anything that links up the regular Verizon.com with the inquiry...

Left message that phone number to my account was changed. If not you, call. I did and was asked to verify my number and name. I was then asked what was my favorite food. What? He then went on to say ... uhhh ... let me see why we called. I immediately got suspicious and said that's okay and hung up. I then called Verizon to verify and was told this was not one of their numbers. I'm confused because I, too, made changes a couple days prior on my account.

I made a change to my Verizon secondary email account the day before. My wife didn't get the particulars, but this was the number to call back from. Judging from the others' comments I don't think think it is spam/social engineering.

Received an email with the same number. Similar situation no changes were made to our VZ account. Report it to phishing@verizon.com

They told me I changed my email associated with my home phone, and I never did. I called them and they said "Don't worry about it". What a crock!

Got a call that Verizon Wireless password was reset, no one requested a reset of the password. Check the account and all was fine. This is a scam number that needs to be ignored or reported.

Got a call and received a letter imitating Verizon requesting that we call 8889760259
joebob 2013-04-02 01:01:36 Unknown
verizon get your s*** together
Harried 2013-04-01 18:42:01 Unknown
Yes, it was Verizon but the darn message kept repeating. You'd think they could eventually fix their own automated machine! So annoying...
SMatt 2013-01-31 20:05:31 Unknown
It is Verizon and it takes a few seconds for the automated message to begin, just be patient. I recently updated a few things to my account using their verizon.com website. The phone call was to make sure that the changes were in fact made by the Verizon customer and not someone else. They then requested that I call 888-976-0259 if it was not me who made those changes. If it was me, then no further action is required. Thanks Verizon!
Rob of NY 2013-01-30 16:06:12 Unknown
It was Verizon - so I stand corrected.
Rob of NY 2013-01-30 15:30:56 Unknown
Who these morons are - I don't know. I finally did pickup and of course there was no one there.
matt 2012-12-11 18:12:43 Unknown
called them back- turns out it's verizon... automated calling machine had a glitch
matt 2012-12-11 18:06:52 Unknown
keeps calling my house, if I answer no one is there...
