I have had the same calls. Don't answer and delete. I have been told that if you call back some of them link to a foreign number and you end up with charges on your phone. A legit call will give you more info including company name and certainly wont be rude-well usually

I received a message from a Mr. Lee. He told me that paperwork came across his desk with my SS# attached. Then he proceeds to tell me its a federal matter. That fascinates  because I have no problem with the feds.

Debt Collectors.  Commercial Recovery Systems is what I found on the web. Very rude and arrogant. I have them blocked.

I got a phone message from Mr. Thornhill around mid-August and he asked for me by a previous married name I had not used in over 15 years. Being somewhat concerned and thinking it might be related to my ex-husband, I called him back. He immediately proceeded to try to get my social security number and other personal information. When I refused, he became irrate and told me there was already pending legal action against me for some kind of banking fraud. (This would be interesting since I have had no debts from that marriage or time period for over 10 years and have never committed banking fraud.) I asked him repeatedly what company he was from. He refused to answer and hung up on me. I was somewhat alarmed and angered, so I traced the number back through the net and I called him back. When asked directly, he finally confirmed he was with Commercial Recovery Systems. I asked again for detailed information regarding the alleged fraud and he refused. He told me not to call him back and to have a lawyer call him. The unprofessionalism and inabilitly to simply have a conversation with this man was shocking, especially considering he started calling me. I immediately sent CRS a written request for the account information/debt validation, etc as well as a complaint and a cease and desist for any further phone calls.

Although the letter was received and signed for on 8/26/13, I never received any written response from CRS. Around the beginning of September I started getting automated phone calls at home and work several times per week. They were vague and only left a phone number, which belonged to Mr. Thornhill. I have sent a second letter to this company and am in process of filing a complaint with the FTC.

Consumers beware!!

This man called for some lady that has the same name as my grandmother. Said she did some bank fraud and needed to get my attorneys name as they are going to take that person to court. I explained that all that info he gave me was too much 3rd party info as that person does not live here. He the said well you don't know anything about the law so shut up. Then just hung up. I called back to ask to speak to a manager and kept getting the same person. He kept saying I removed your phn number but you must be retarder for calling back. What, really!?!?!  This guy was a piece of crap. I have never had someone host me so much. I have never wished bad luck to anyone but man tomorrow would be a great day if the guy just so happened to die. He was so rude. Then he said he was going to have someone come to my house. I did explain if anyone would step anywhere my house they would get shot as this is private property. I really need to find out what company they are calling from. Because even though this was the wrong number , I'm sure they still talk to their real customers like that and I know for a fact that is not legal to threaten someone like that. Horrible people.

The gentleman who calls from this number has called 3 times before. Each time he leaves a message asking to speak to my stepfather who, by the way, does not live here. I have returned the call twice now, both times telling them that I will pass on the message but I would appreciate it if they do not call me again. Well, I found a message on my voicemail from them again this evening. I called them and, finally, spoke to a person instead of an answering machine. Mr. Thornhill (or the gentleman answering his phone) was incredibly rude! He went on and on about how my stepfather must have given them my number so I shouldn't be angry at them for calling -- although I feel I had every right to be upset when I asked them twice to stop calling my home. When I asked him to please not speak to me in such an obnoxious manner, he went on to tell me how he speaks to thousands of people and I just was not important enough to waste time on. He then told me he wouldn't call again and then tried to hang-up. Umm -- hello? How can you remove my number when you don't know my number? I was able to stop him before he hung-up and I did give him my number but wow! He was an arrogant so-and-so. Part of me hopes he calls again so that I can report him for ignoring my request.

Beware of this scammer!!!!!!!This man called while I was on vacation so I called him back today and he was so unbelievably rude from the beginning, I was appalled the way this man was talking to me. First he read off a completely different ss # and told me that I'm wanted for fraudulent charges and they have me on some surveillance camera, this guy was a nut. I tried explaining to Him that he had the wrong person but he wouldn't stop. He told me I was a moron and the more questions I asked about this supposed debt the madder he got! Told me he wasn't going to keep going back and forth with me and that I either needed to pay him $4,885 that i owed "his" client or to get an atty. this is supposedly a credit card, but just for the record- I wish I had the credit to be able to get a credit card with that high of a limit!!! I swore at him and told to not ever call my number again and hung up on him and he tried calling right back!!! I've already contacted my atty!!!

Keeps calling my 80 year old mother.  It takes a great effort for my mother to answer the phone.  When she asked the person to stop calling her and that she didn't know the person they asked for the man screamed obscenities to her!  She has advanced cancer and was extremely upset.
