I'm sorry, but you are the unintelligent one. They don't need to take all the money from your account if they have several people as gullible as you making payments to them. This is not legitimate! They have called and harrassed several people in my family. Even if they are what you call "legitimate" calling and impersonating a police officer or an agent of the FBI is illegal and I'm not sure why a "legitimate" company would need to use those sort of tatics. Do more research. Get all your facts.

I got a call on my landline, which I rarely answer, it is usually telemarketing or polls. But I answered it and the person asked for a friend of my mother's. Neither my mother nor that person live here. Stated he was Steven Nelson from American Locating and was looking for a person 'who papers could be served to'. Gave a number of 888-995-8535.   My mother is an attorney and normal law offices don;t call and ask for that. I have served papers for her, you don;t call in advance.  I did used to do skip tracing for auto repo (I know this guy's car has been paid off for almost 10 years), as skip tracers we could play a little fast and loose with the language used, but the debt collection dept at the same company I worked at knew if they said such a thing they would be fired. So this place is is probably a boiler room operation.

I just realized i got scammed last month for a online loan i got and not even 3 weeks after i so called thught i paid it off the locating service called me too and gave me the 1888-995-8535 phone number and said they were collect on a cash and go loan i got in 2005. I'm suppose to pay them 423 by the 27th of Sept but now that i learned about the scammer from last month i am not sure if they are legit. I called today with more questoins about this debt i owed because i did get it from the so called source. but they told me they will be able to provide the broker who was hired by cash and go paper work.

my question to you is, what happenend with your husband file with this firm? please let me know.... are they real?

This company IS 100% LEGITIMATE. No scamming is being done by J & E Financial BUT a whole bunch of scamming is being done by the DEBTORS. These comments are by DEBTORS that have attempted to skip out on THEIR DEBT!  Just trying to bring it to the DEBTORS attention for the 100th time. My friend told me that there is occasionally a mistaken of identity but the locators are very accurate at locating the correct DEBTOR. THE BOTTOM LINE TO ALL THE CRYING STRESSED OUT PEOPLE TRYING TO DIFFER THE ATTENTION OFF OF YOURSELVES AND TRY TO MAKE THIS COMPANY LOOK BAD FOR TRYING TO HELP YOU CLEAR UP YOUR CREDIT AND PAY YOUR DEBT. This company called my father in law claiming that if my husband didn't return their call within 2 hours he would be arrested. This is the second time this company has attempted this tactic with us in 6 months. First talked to "Marilyn, the "receptionist".  She transferred me to "Stacey", who first told us this was related to a "civil lawsuit", but the SECOND I mentioned the FTC, said she was transferring me to a "supervisor".

This guy's name is Daniel Rodriguez. First, he "verified" my husband's last 4 of his social and his birthday (they gave us this info) and said there was no way his company had made a threatening call and was it recorded? I said no, and he said that since it wasn't recorded he couldn't believe that it actually happened. But they do use a "3rd party locating service", so I asked who that was, so I could report their service. He refused to disclose who their 3rd party locator service is.  Then he told me that even if they DID use misdirection to gain my husband's attention it was justified because people skip out on their debts all the time and the collection agents have to do SOMETHING.
So then we asked about the actual debt. Mr. Rodriguez refused to provide us proof of the debt, (the company he's allegedly collecting for , HSBC, has NO documentation of the debt or even that they turned it over to J &E Financial Firm)  and refused to acknowledge that my husband was under-age at the time the credit application was supposedly signed and the alleged account opened. He couldn't/wouldn't tell us what state the application or account originated in or what was allegedly purchased. We also pointed out that the last time we spoke with one of their reps that the "last payment in good standing" was in 2008, this time its 2010 and the amount owed is $1,100 higher then it was 6 months ago.
Mr. Rodriguez became increasingly hostile to the point of calling us liars and accessories to fraud. We hung up on him screaming at us.

We talked awhile and decided we play it their way.  I have some legal background so we had a strategy.  My husband called back to 888-995-8535 a short time later, stating he needed to speak to Mr. Rodriguez, that if indeed there is a "civil lawsuit"  he wants to know the docket number, what city/county/state the district court is in so he can file a response to the motion, and seeing as they have our current address, why hasn't he gotten a Summons from the governing court?  "Marilyn"  immediately states Mr. Rodriguez is on another call and he'll have to call us back. He never did.

They respond to all complaints saying its the same person every time, a disgruntled employee.  I assure you I am not a friend, family member, acquaintance or anything of the sort with any of their employees. We are considering legal action at this time.

Got a phone call from 205-282-7964 saying I had legal action against me and needed to call 888-995-8535 and give them this case number and they would tell me what it was about. I called to see what they answered as, it was a recorded message that said J n or & E Financial Firm. I hung up!

Please do file reports with the FBI, your state attorney general and Department Of Justice,FTC & FCC..

Just got a call from this number 318-639-2738.  Steven Nelson with American Locating Services. and they said they have papers to serve me, because someone filed a legal complaint against me.  He kept asking if I was the person he was looking for, and I didn't answer him, just asked what this was regarding. He didn't give me any information. He said he could give me a number to call to get that information, and then kept asking if I was the person he was calling. I still didn't answer. It was none of his business if I was the one he was calling, or her mother, or her friend, or whatever. I just made it clear that since he wasn't giving me any information, I wanted the number. He finally gave it to me, said I had one hour to call it, and then started to ask me for information, and I just said, "this is so illegal, it's ridiculous!" and hung up on him.  He didn't call me back. It's been long after an hour, and still no call back. My daughter and I both googled this company and this number only to find complaints and/or NO information on this company.  American Locating Services doesn't exist, at least not in this capacity.   Legal complaints don't follow up with an 888 that is law enforcements job . Don't give these people any information

I had gotten a call as well from this number and they told me that they mailed several letters to my home. The addresses they have on file are addresses for places I never lived in. The gentleman then had the nerve to tell me that I was lying about where I had lived and that if this is in fact is fraud than I should have reported it back in 2003 (I want to know how does one file a police report if they have no knowledge that fraud was on your credit report). The gentleman then got angry that I had asked my husband to get on the phone (I was crying so much and was on the verge of a nervous breakdown). Then he listed that he was going to take my 2004 Chevy Tahoe away from me (which I do not own one because I do not drive) and when I told him that I do not drive he said how can someone of your age not know how to drive (I was not about to tell him that I had a medical issue and had decided it was best not for me to drive). I am almost certain that this is a scam and hope that they never call again.

My dad got a call from these people saying they had a legal complaint against me and if I didn't call back within 2 hours they would take me away and incarcerate me until the hearing! When I call the number back it goes to J & E Financial??? this is just a company trying to collect information for past debts. When they call back tell them you are recording the conversation so you can report them to the Federal Trade Commission. If they continue calling, mention that it is now harassment and they will most likely stop bugging you.

i got a call from Stacy Howell stating that i'm being sued by her client for some credit dept HSBC from back in 2003. So i asked her to send me some legal paper to prove my dept, she just wanted to pay without going to court.

I just got a call from 305-320-6296 a very rude man told me my ex husband filed a suit against me and they have tried to serve me twice and if I did not call 888-995-8535 within an hour I would be arrested. When I asked for the mans name he said he would tell me when I repeated the number back to him. He told me to call with case number ACT2466 and then hung up. When I called the number back no one answered

Just got a call from this number 768 218 0032 Steven Nelson with American Locating Services. and they said they have papers sitting on their desk for my husband for a legal complaint. I was given the number 888 995 8535 for my husband to call and they attempted to get money from him for a debt they could not identify and the supposed debt was from 2007 when my husband refused to give them money he was hung up on abruptly and then we several calls from Steve Nelson telling me legal papers would be here in 2 hrs...I told him to send them and that if he called my number again I would contact the authorities.  Legal complaints don't follow up with an 888 that is law enforcements job . Don't give these people any information

My mom got a call from 888-995-8535 they were really professional and helped her pay her debt off, then they sent her the documentation about it. I'm pretty sure it's a legitimate company, you guys just don't want to take responsibility for your own actions
