A few days ago I too heard about the casting call over the radio and called immedately! I was supprised to hear a mans quarky voice ramble "hey there kid!!" as soon as they answered and quickly shuffle the phone to a lady's voice that appered more "porfessional" asking me to speak to a parent of guardian. I have been doing research on the company and found that they are classified under http://celebritygroup.tv/  and http://www.celebritystar.tv/ (SAME COMPANY DIFFERENT NAME) i found this amazingly FISHY. Why would a "respectable" agency need to different names? LIKE ARE YOU TRYING TO HIDE SOMETHING? Also the advertisement of their commercial gave off the impression of a casting call, noT a CAMP as is advertised. I aslo researched the kids that were featured on the ' some of our successful kids' page of the pamphlit and found very little to no research. Some did have been 'represented by a talent agencie but the talent angencis i researched had very little information about these so called "agencies" that seemed to not even exist. It was VERY conflicted on wheather i wanted to take the chance of spending about 5,000$  ON A CAMP. Also the pamphlit and information given during the presentation seemed very vague.

I also went to "The Event" this Saturday,April 20 at the Marriot in New York. In the radio ad, they said they will only accept 200 callers. When I took my son there, there were about 800 kids with parents! Even one of the Nickelodeons kid stars was there. He works in Victorious. After the 2 hour bla, bla bla and video of the event in one of Disney's hotel in Florida, you get a 3 minute interview with the "agent" and then you line up for your try out in front of the camera. My poor child memorized the two sentence scrip, and acted in front of the camera. After that, you are told to e-mail Monday morning for his results to see if he was "selected" to go. Of course I did, and the next hour I got a call from the same agent who interview us, saying that she would like to see him again, even that she thinks that he needs to work a little more in the acting. Of course, she then asks if I selected one of the options that require a minimum of $1950 for the kid, and since at least an adult has to go with your child, there is another d$895 to pay up front! What a scam! I told her I didn't have all that money at the moment, and even she tried to convince me to take loans or even pay with a credit card, when I kept my position that I did not have the money to spend at this moment, then she wish me good luck.

Sorry, the company is a fraud! Don't waste your time. If you truly have talent, get a manager and go that route. Any company requesting you pay ANYTHING up front is a fraudulent hoax. Do your research about The Event. They are thieves! Read the posts about yours. Google it! Check Better Business Bureau.

Prank Call
To anyone who is even in the last bit "star struck", do be aware that there are numerous fake agents out there. They will even go so far as to use the name of a famous movie company, like Disney, to lure people in.

We live in Knoxville, Tennessee, and my children came home today begging to call this number they heard while at their dad's house.  They said they would win a contest by being the 200th caller and get to be on the Disney Channel.  I didn't think they would actually get through so I told them they could call.  Next think I know (someone actually answered) and supposedly had me scheduled with a casting director Saturday, Aug 4th at a hotel downtown.  I got excited when the hotel confirmed the company that rented their ballroom was "New York Studio".  However, I'm glad I found this website so that I don't waste an entire day only to break my daughters' hearts.  Thank you everyone who posted information!  The phone number that my kids called is 1-888-999-5719, and they heard the advertisement on the local STAR 102.1 station.

I heard it on the radio, they gave a 888-999-0826 number, to schedule an audition, which I did call, and then i few hours later, they called back.  I got scheduled for this coming saturday June 16th, 2012 at 11:30 in Vienna VA.  Thank god, I look it up, they gave me a webpage www.2012talent.com, went into the site, and it automatically changes to orlandoevents. ...... that seemed very suspicious to me.. but oh well.. please BEWARE>...

There will be an event in Disney but Disney has nothing to do with it. They will not refund your money. If you want your money back contact the BBB. It may be everything the promise but it is very misleading and many of the stars who were a part of it have backed out after realizing what they do.

Forgot to let everyone in Hawaii know that "The Event" used a different phone number.  It's 1-888-908-2921.  BEWARE unless you're looking for a vacation in Orlando, Florida in December.  Disney has no affiliation.

Well, "The Event" has reached Hawaii over this past weekend.  A deceptive way to sell vacation packages 10 months away in Orlando, Florida by using Disney channel to entice your child.  I sensed the "rat" while in the process of paying.  All of which I am out $5500.  THEY USE YOUR CHILD AS THEIR SELLING DEVICE TO MAKE THE PARENTS/GRANDPARENTS LOOK LIKE THE "BAD GUY" FOR NOT GOING THROUGH WITH THE MOST EXPENSIVE $7,900+ PACKAGE!!!  It's ALWAYS held on weekends knowing credit card/debit card companies (banks) are NOT open so there's no way to stop the charge.  "The Event" never once asked for any identification & once your account is charged THEY REFUSE TO ISSUE YOU A CREDIT OR NULL THE TRANSACTION. Transactions all take place from late afternoon on Sunday knowing the financial institutions are all closed!  THIS SCAM IS SO TOTALLY DECEPTIVE, OUT TO GET YOUR MONIES WITH PRESSURE TALKS, & CREATE GREAT DISAPPOINTMENTS TO THE CHILD!  "The Event" knows the type of people to target for the 2nd day call back.  Well...they've hit a wrong one because I have started pursuing legal action!!!

Well I am really concerned now.  I called this number and set up an appointment for my daughter this Saturday, 10-15-11 at 3:30.  This is really sad because we were really excited. Unfortunately, I smell a "rat".  I'm really grateful for all the posts.

Ha, well I am in the same boat as you are. I took my daughter too and was very excited and did pay. But thinking and doing the research too late, I found it hard to find these people too. I tried searching for their address and "google" showes just that the building is for "sale".... I called all the numbers given and the cell number "our scout" called from, left messages and F****er never called back. I called the resort and they refered to the event of "The Event" as a convention. They worked as "Tay" as well..... We're cancelling. The so-called registration fee of $1000.00 is not refundable. But we are still cancelling....But we still are going to Florida for the vacation though just not wasting our time with these people.

Sadly this scam has reached the shores of South Africa. These fools placed an ad on a popular Cape Town radio station and hundreds reacted. My wife and I unsuspectingly went together with out two daughters to a hotel where they 'auditioned' and was scouted for the 'right look'.Myself being a detective immediatly saw some loose ends in this people's act.1stly their clothing was not presentable eg the men's suits did not fit them and was old with lots of mileage! (LOL).Secondly In their opening video they try to convince their victims that it is not a scam. And 3rdly everything has to move fast, they pick your child quickly, you must decide quickly and part with your money quickly. What they did not reckon is that their huge asking fee of USD 4900  is like times 7 in South Africa and the reasonable South African does not carry around so much money in his back pocket.Thats what making their offer more rediculous and how can you part with so much money without thinking.

Shame on them for deceiving little children and destroying their dreams.
