I received a call from a Daniel Jones who said he was from Social Security and said they were issuing me and everyone a new card for people over 65.  The gentleman gave me the new (supposedly) assigned number of the card, read a bank account number over the phone which I would not confirm and when I asked him for a phone number he gave me 896-778-4047.  I called Social Security to confirm this information and they said that this was a fraudulant call.  They would never call anyone and issue a new card number nor would they issue a new SS number period, the SS agent did not recognize the caller's telephone number, and she said SS would never ask to confirm bank account information over the phone.  Be careful!
