THey called today, asked me how i was doin' by my name, I muttered fine, and they never said anything else. I hung up.

This is the number of the Memphis/Shelby Firefighters charity who are jerks on the phone. They operate on an automated dial system because I've called them back on that line before to get off their list.  It didn't work and I have registered on the Tennessee and Federal Do Not Call list.  I don't believe they are legitimate or are officially affiliated with the fire departments of Memphis or Shelby County, or at least I hope they're not.  They are jerks.

some guy from that number asked for my parents, i said they were unavailible, and he hung up the phone with an attitude.

I have answered calls from a number similar to this one and I am pretty sure it is the Memphis Firefighters trying to sell tickets for something.

I had the sme thing happen to me this weekend.  May be the telephone company needs to look into this.

this man called my number and asked for someone that does not live here,when he was told he had the wrong number,he asked for me and was also told that it was the incorrect number .he in returns say oh really and hangs up the phone.

We receive this "Memphis Shelby" caller id quite often!! & When I try to call it back it is always busy!!!! I don't know what or who these people are but it does indeed seem suspicious to me!! It scares me to think of how much identity theft is out there! Though I don't know what they could get from you through the phone line; but never the less it's still scary!
