Got the message on (December 17) at 1:16 PM. Message was SMS (Text) and said "Fifth Third Bank alert. Debit Card locked. Call 901 379 1971 to unlock it".

Got the message today (December 27) at 11:15 AM. Message was SMS (Text) and said "Fifth Third Bank alert. Debit Card locked. Call 901 379 1971 to unlock it".

[CB]9176511766.      And when I called is was a automated message saying something about the security department and enter my debit card #. I don't have an account with them. Total scam

I work for Fifth Third Bank.  PLEASE DO NOT CALL THIS NUMBER.  It is fraud!

Same as others my bank would never leave a message like this,never responded i will surly report this issue to my bank . Iam sure they will contact police and feds,hope they track them down

Same text this afternoon. Talked to my daughter who is banking customer service rep although not for 5th 3rd, definitely a scam. Don't respond.

We got a message:
"Your debit card has been frozen. Reply to the message to unfreeze it."

Ju-fang Shi may be innocent because CallerID numbers can be spoofed http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caller_ID_spoofing

I have a kid in college in Arizona and another one in Canada visiting.  Thought maybe they used my number for one of their bank info.  I'm glad I came on here before I texted these people back.  I can't beleive the type of filth that's out there trying to scam us. Thanks for the info.

My family has 4 phones on one plan, all were texted with the same fraudulent message.

My daughter works for Fifth Third, this is a scam, she is reporting this Monday morning, give out no information to anyone with out confimation from your bank or credit union

Thanks people... I got a text from this number... Because of you all I just deleted it without opening/downloading... I don't have a text plan so every text costs me, that's annoying and should be illegal.

Number comes back to Cordova, TN to a Ju-fang Shi. Will be in contact with Memphis PD on Monday to pay a visit.  :)

I received the same text message on a phone number owned by a state agency.  The number is unlisted and on a do not call list.   Text stated "5/3rd bank alert, debit card locked."  Do not respond to the message, its some type of fraud.

Same message as people above. They texted just a few minutes ago.

I also have been getting these text messages.  I don't even hold accounts @ some of the banks that claim to have my "cards frozen".  It's obviously a scam/fraud attempt by some "low-life" to get your account information.
