I also received this call this morning, they guy claimed to be calling on behalf of the CPA and also about anti-bullying campaign and started with 3 number from $75 to $300. when I said that was to high he went down once with amounts of $50 and above then when I asked about sending the info for me to review by mail he said they couldn't du to high costs of postage. He also gave me the CPA site but .com, then he tried to get $20 or $30 from me and I said I do not pledge over the phone so he simply hung up.
I did some research and it is very similar to a REAL campaign SO be very careful, a true campaign would not hesitaete to send you something by mail or even email and will not ask for your credit card over the phone!!!
Also, I did a 411 search Canada and there is no person or company name that comes up. Even more proof that it is a scam.

Getting calls from 902-701-9240. This must be a scam, thank you.

I get this call at least once a day.. I don't usually answer. Police Assoc. I have donated before and have received a receipt foe tax purposes and nothing over and above the donation from my card. BUT I still don't know if it is legit.

A lot of the solicitors for these campaigns are volunteers and may not sound professional although not many people do sound professional these days. If you want to support have them mail you the literature then check things out before you give anything.

Receiving repeated calls from this number. I see it on my call display so I don't answer. It is still very annoying to get called multiple times per day.

My guess is that this is a third party doing the calling on behalf of the CPA.  There are companies that do phone-based fundraising campaigns on behalf of a charity.  I know this because I am involved with an organization that was approached by one of these companies.  Perhaps if people feel that they are being unprofessional they should make the CPA aware directly.

Out of country companies have learned how to mask their numbers to give the appearance that they are calls coming from within Canada.  Perhaps this is the case with these people.  They keep calling me but leave no message.  And I simply don't answer numbers I don't know.

Actually, it IS a scam!!  There is a legitimate campaign run by the Canadian Police Association called "Cops for Kids Safety".  This phone number (902-701-9240) is NOT related to that campaign.  The caller from this number claims to be from the Association, but is collecting funds for an anti-bullying initiative/book.  This is a scam!!!  This link, www.thetelegram.com/News/Local/2014-01-29/article...of...scam/1 will take you to a story about how this scam is very similar to the campaign being run by the Association.  If you call the number back they will actually answer saying they are the CPA.  THEY ARE NOT!!!  Be very careful your donation is going to the legitimate charity and not the scammers!!

I got a call today about the Canadian Police Assocation asking for me to support their anti bullying program. When I asked " are you going to come here and see me to get my donation." He would just say no we are not set up to do that. So I said " well I can't help you then. He then replied " Ok"  and hung up.

I too am receiving calls from this No. I will not answer if the call waiting shows me a No. I do not recognize.
This is a dangerous practice as it could be a call that needs to be answered, I. e. family emergency. On phone solicitations I ask that request be sent by mail. I never give via phone.

Obviously not, they could clean your bank acct. I work at a call center and this is more common then you think. I would not give away any private information to anybody over the phone unless you know 100% their legit.

We've been getting calls from this number for about a week and a half.  I answered earlier this evening and it was a male saying he was calling on behalf of the "Canadian Police Association". He was looking for a donation for some sort of anti-bullying campaign.  He didn't that professional and the whole call sounded kind of fishy, so I just hung up.  I'm not sure if it's a legit organization, but it certainly didn't feel right to me.

This number is calling my house far too often, heaven help them if I find out where they are! I may buy an air horn. I've had it!!!!

Received call from Police Association looking for donation .. after complying and sending them $25, I believed then that I was scammed.

I got the same call as Trevor. My husband had this happen concerning another fraud call which he reported to the RCMP at the detachment here in Cole Harbour. He was given 1-888-495-8501 to call and report the call. A file was created and the police are looking into the previous matter. A guy called and wanted a Pledge for anti bullying. Said he worked for "Canadian Police Assocation". I asked what there website was and he said it was cpa-acp dot com but it was really dot ca. cpa-acp.ca. He wanted a Pledge from 300 dollars down to 25. I find it fishy he didn't even know the correct website. Also he said I can call back the caller ID number if I want to pledge in a later date. The caller id said: 902-701-9240 but he gave me a 1 800 number over the phone to call back.

March 26, 2013  Claimed to be from the RCMP, Called us trying to sell  Antibullying kits @$25 ea, wanted our credit card #.  Told her to mail us an invoice.

Called, answered the phone and no one was on the other end.
Called back, said it was the number for Canadian Police Associated, or something.
Left a message with my phone asking not to be called again, per their automated instructions.

this number has called several times -  a woman (the same voice each time) always asks  "is this Mrs. Fraser?) when I say she has the wrong number, there is no Mrs. Fraser here - she then says, "Are you the lady of the House" then always tries to sell me some product - since this call is from N.S. AND from Halifax - AND we are on the "do not call list", they should NOT be calling this number -- what good is the do not call list if we get this a few times a month - the exact same  procedure - this is NOT some off-shore call but right here in Canada where the rules are "supposed" to apply - so why are these people not shut down for disobeying the CRTC rules????!!!!

Caller said they were a police officer calling on behalf of copsforkidssafety.com. They were looking for donations. Seemed very shady.
