They claim they're ScotiaBank, and using a ghost Halifax number (the number is out of service actually, when you call it back, it's only alive for Caller Display purposes).
Don't give them any satisfaction whatsoever - let them know they've been reported (I reported them to ScotiaBank, who agrees they are fraudulent, and will report them to the RCMP shortly).

I told them I don't bank with Scotia and they said they would take me off the list...... so try that.

2 nights in a row, calls from this Ph.#, stating they were calling from Bank of Scotia

I worked for this company. Relax, they're just customer-satisfaction surveys that take five minutes and they are legit.

somebody at this number called and asked specifically for my husband by his name, he wasn't home, she said she was calling on behalf of "Work Safe NB" and asked if she could try at another time. When I saw these reports I dialled the number back and got the recording "this number is not in service" etc.

Unwanted call

Got a call from this number on Friday, Jun 26. Said they were doing a "customer relations" (my words) survey for Scotiabank...appeared to be valid, went thru some questions (nothing personal to worry about) and when I replied to one that I hadn't spoken with an actual Scotiabank representative in over 6 months, they terminated the survey, stating that "Scotiabank only wanted them to get info from customers who'd had "personal interaction" with Scotiabank reps in the last 6 months....Seemed genuine to me and I wasn't going to give them any income/location/vacation dates/PINs/credit card #s/or other personal info anyway.

Hey, these guys aren't fraudulent. They do marketing work for Scotia Bank. Basically surveys for Scotia Bank customers to better understand where Scotia Bank can improve customer service. They never ask for your name or address. Only your age and sex for demographic marketing information.

It never fails. Each time I accidentally forget to turn my cell to silent at work it goes off! Missed call from this number as well. I didn't answer.

I got one too from this number. I've always been at work or something so I've always missed the call and they never leave messages.

04-02-09. 5:05PM, PST. Missed the call. It was on my call display. I redialed the number and got an oral message from Telus as follows: "We're sorry, but that number is no longer in service". How do these people get and use a number that officially does not exist?

Received call also, this is a marketing company that says they work on behalf of The bank of Scotia...do not give your personal information.

The 902 area code is from Nova Scotia. The bank is the Bank of Nova Scotia or more likely they will just use scotiabank. From my experience, if you got a call from scotiabank, it would be a toll free number up on your caller id display. Chances are, it's a spoof who's not up on things to know that The Bank Of Nova Scotia hasn't been used to do business since the late 80's.
