Just called me 2 minutes ago.. it is likely that they were sold a list with all of our cell numbers on it..  i hung up as well before hitting 1.

I just got a call from (902)998-9874 saying "Congratulations! your number has been selected for our grand prize, please press 1 to claim your prize" ok, I hung up, cause this is a scam that once you press 1 it connects with your phone and is able to make long distance calls thru your phone. DO NOT PRESS 1, HANG UP IMMEDIATLY!!!!!!! or your next cell phone bill will be thru the roof. Beware

I just got a call from these guys on my mobile. How the hell do they get your mobile phone number? For a mobile user, all telemarketing calls cost airtime in Canada... so why are they propagating mobile numbers for these idiots to call? Annoying!!!

Glad I have Advanced Call Manager on my mobile phone... block these evil callers.

I am with telus in Winnipeg and I just got same kind of call but with restricted ID. As soon as it said press 1, I just hung up. I believe it's a scam. They really piss me off!

I received a similar call from number 19029986472. I didnt press 1 the first time the computer asked but pressed it the second time and nothing happened or it disconnected. I feel dumb and I hope it didnt go through..Im Fido in Vancouver

received the call but didn't answer.  caller ID said it's from Nova Scotia.  Stay away from unfamiliar area codes.

Same automated message from this number as another that called my cell a few days ago (705) 998-6984. Says my number was selected to receive a promotional gift....blah blah blah! Press 1 to hear more.  Don't do it. Another wasted minute.  I wish I had per second billing.

Soooooo they called while I was in class today, and I didn't answer because I was in class, but when I tried calling back it wouldn't let. They called my cell, and it tells me where the area code is from, and it's apparently in Nova Scotia, Canada. Odd.

I got a missed call from this number today..I assumed it was just a wrong number so I did not try calling back. I happened to google the number and found this message board. The best thing to do is to probably ignore the number along with other numbers that really look unfamiliar to you.
