I received the same phone call. They sent me a check and I looked at it and realized that check was fake. I then asked questions about why they would send a check instead of sending the supplies. They said the company likes to receive the money from the person that will be receiving the materials. That was a red flag!!!!

Do not deposit that check!! It is a scam used before. It is the same as the 'secret shopper' scam. You deposit the check for specific purchases and then are asked for the balance of the cash left over sent back to them. By the time the bank figures out it is a fraudulent check, you will be out the money you spent and whatever you sent them. It is terrible people can do this to someone already obviously needing a job but let's face it. Scammers have no conscience.

Rosemary Holmes contacted me with a job offer and I felt the pay was too good to be true...after what I have read below...I am glad that I did not give her any information other than my full name and address to mail the HR documents to me...she got my name from www.texasjob.com from a resume that I had summited online.

I received call from this Rosemary Holmes Person.  Was offered $35.75 an hour for customer service.  She had me on yahoo im for 3 hours.  Said to im back in the morning for updates.  Decided to google this numberand found out scam. Never talked to her in person.  Red flag and asked about if I want direct deposit or check.   I said direct deposit but I began to think dont want to give personal bank information so thats when I googled number and found it was a scam.   Also I dont recall fillling out application on youemployment.com.

I wanted to start this because I did a search on this number when I got the first text and didn't find anything.  I later searched the contacts email and found a whole conversation under the phone number 202-697-7955.  It looks like the same scam is being used under the following numbers and names (in case anyone is searching):
202-697-7955, Angela Thomas, Minnesota, Mr Chad Carson, (413) 200-2751, Brownsville Texas, Mr. Davis,  413) 200-2751, Nova Medical Center, rosemaryholmes218@yahoo.com

All complaints have pretty similar stories.  Get a text for an interview/job offer to work at home.  People who interviewed spent hours and eventually get the offer and give personal info for a laptop to be sent so they can work from home.  I did not do interview as I saw red flags immediately, here's my story...

I JUST got a text from "Rosemary Holmes".  She'd seen my profile on youremployment.com (on which I never actually finished filling out a profile so has VERY LITTLE info on me) and was kept referencing job "offer/interview" not even just interview, so I was skeptical.  I asked her to email me more info and gave her my email and she sent hourly rates to work from home which added up to a salary of $73K for data entry work and $47k while doing training hours.  I actually do recruiting and compensation, and I know that was far too good to be true as that compensation is way out of line with what anyone pays, particularly if they are recruiting anyone and everyone whether there is profile/resume info or not.  This a position you could EASILY fill internally if it were real, and would never need to hire a recruiter for, and, though I'd gladly take it, my experience is higher than data entry, so I wouldn't have been a target if a real recruiter had done research on this. I also looked up Nova Medical Centers and Rosemary Holmes and thought interesting that they didn't have anything like this posted on their careers tab on their website and that this woman wasn't on LinkedIn (all recruiters are on LinkedIn).  So, I haven't replied.  That said, I found a thread of complaints for a different phone number by searching the email she sent me.
