Got a call from here - saying they were taking donations for the Texas State Troopers Association and if we donated money we would get a sticker. After searching online I found a summary of an article from Oct 2009:
The Texas attorney general is launching his own investigation after an NBC 5 investigation revealed most of the money donated to the State Troopers Association doesn't go to troopers, but to telemarketers.

Received this call at 9:56 A.M. It was from my area code, so I answered. Immediately someone started making a pitch for something. I hung up. I don't know what organization it was. I'll report to the Do Not Call Registry.

A person from this number has called 5, maybe 6 different times. Each time I answer, they identify themselves only as "Statewide Appeals." Each time they call, I have asked them to remove my number from their directory and to stop calling me. They just called again. I'm on the National No Call list but it doesn't seem to deter many from calling anyway.

Called my home phone. Display said Longview, TX. I used to live there 40 years ago, but don't know anyone there now. Let it go to voicemail - no message.

Phone number showing, also Longview, Tx. When I picked up the phone a voice said "Let me try to connect you" waited a few seconds then said it again...then nothing.... I think it was probably the ACLU needing cash to pay for nancy pelocies plastic surgery face replacement.

I also just got a call from this number. They were laughing on the answering machine when I listened to the message. I have no clue who it is. Caller ID says Longview, TX.
