Debt Collector
Folks.. just remember, always deal directly with the issuer, not Enhanced Recovery or Debt Collection companies like them..

These companies buy the debt for pennies on the dollar and try to collect as much of it as they can to make a profit, and they sometimes do..that is why they get desperate after a while and try to make a deal with you for half... but there is nothing they can do unless they actually sue you in court and win a judgement..rare, it costs them money, that is why they try to scare you.. The banks write your debt off and take a tax deduction, these companies are BOTTOM FEEDERS and really have no right to the money.. If they actually collect it they are not going to give it to their client, they keep it ! That is why all you have to do is not respond to their calls, or mailings and avoid them.. there is a statute of limitations on how long they can TRY to collect and then they have to leave you alone.. if you continue to take their calls it resets the statute and they will bother you forever !! SO IGNORE THEIR CALLS, SCREEN THEIR CALLS and avoid them... all that usually happens is you get your credit dinged and as long as you have one or two cards you keep using and are in good standing with your credit will eventually come back !! WITHOUT A BANKRUPCY.. Also, go get a PO Box and change all the addresses on your credit card accounts to a PO Box online.. it will say you can not do it but you can most times fool the software by typing it all in one word..ex, POBOX9119 Anywhere, FL get it.?. This way all your mailed bills and threats go to your PO Box and you can periodically screen it.... after a while they fade away..

IGNORE THE IDIOTS ON THIS SITE FROM THE COLLECTION AGENCIES.

Folks, it is important to remember that Credit Card debt, is UNSECURED debt, and is unlike Collateralized debt, like a Car Loan or Mortgage, which is backed by the physical asset..

There really is nothing they can do but harrass and threaten you... Enhanced Recovery and BOTTOM FEEDERS like them know that and that is why they continuously get into trouble trying to scare you into paying. Just ignore them and deal directly with the issuer...

They also hire UNEDUCATED morons, who really belong in McDonalds or Burger King. These are the same schmucks that were hired by all the mortgage companies to write all the horrible mortgages, the same SNAPPERHEADS that screw up your fast food order...!!!

It is important to deal directly with the issuing bank with regard to your account, with the assistance of an attorney. If you do not have the money, check with your local community or legal aid society for help..

VERY IMPORTANT !!

When you do NEGOTIATE with the CREDITOR, and you come up with an agreement, make sure you have an attorney draft a letter and also, on the check, make sure it says " BY Cashing This Check The Recipient/Creditor Acknowledges and Agrees That This Account is to be Considered Paid in Full and all Credit Reporting Agencies will be Notified as such"

Do not let them just call the account SETTLED.. PAID IN FULL is what you want for Credit Repair Purposes ! if they call it SETTLED after they cash the check, have your attorney pursue them to have it change to what is agreed to in the letter and on the payment Check !

Debt Collector
I have received hundreds of missed calls from this number over the course of 4 months. I do have one credit card that I am in $600 debt with but after reading your reviews I doubt this is the company seeking to collect for the company in which my card belonged to. I don't know any other way to stop these calls than to change my cell phone number.

For the record I do plan on paying my debt back but I have been out of work because I had a baby and when I do it will be straight to the original company and not to ANY "debt collector" that calls me at 8:30 in the evenings!

They left me a voicemail. It was a recording. It stated that it was a collection agency trying to collect a debt and they need a call back. It left a number as well as a reference number. I'm not calling back because none of my bills are in collections.
