Got another call from this number again today.  It is a study by an Research Company.  Covance Research is doing the study for people over 75 and supposedly pays $1250 for the study.  Don't know what the study is on.

Just received a call - Covance Research leaving a message that I could apply for their study. Pretty much the same as Ray's message above. Although, I once did a study with Covance and made almost $5,000 for a 7 night stay.

This is from Verizon call center that lease phones to telemarketers to do studies.  My call was for a study being done by Covance Research on people over 75.  Supposedly pays $1250 for the study here.  Don't know what the study is on.  Study 8230-183 at 866-913-4434.  This is being done at several locations.

ACS-Affiliated Computer Systems does have a presence in Jacksonville, Florida. How did you link the number to that company? Caller ID has said "Continental Sys" every time they have called me.

Another call 4 days later. This time there was a message left on my answering machine with nothing but a series of poofing noises. (It sounded sort of like soft gunshots one after the other.). So much for the guy making a note that this number didn't belong any more to the person they are trying to reach.

I googled the number and don't want to pay for information, but one site identified the the number as a land line. Since the caller ID says "Continental Sys" I looked for a company in Jacksonville with this sort of name. What I found was  a company called "1-800-We Answer" that has bought out "Continental Systems, Inc." which is identified as a Jacksonville-based company specializing in receiving first loss notices for property and casualty insurance companies, and the company also is the phone order central for Body Control, a Jacksonville-based national retailer of women's casual clothing."

This phone number doesn't show up in a google search for that company. The on-line phone number for that company is 904-421-6200 and the fax number also isn't the one that has been calling me. It may be a place to start, though, if the calls keep coming.

Not an ACS member. Call asked for people who used to have my number. Caller identified himself as a company calling about a medical account of some sort. When I told him people by that name used to have my number, he said he'd make a note on the account that this was no longer the other person's number -- if it was okay with me. Huh? It's not my account, so do what you need to do to quit calling!

Didn't pick up. They left no message. Caller ID said CONTINENTAL SYS.

This numer keeps calling a few times a day, doesn't leave a message, number is disabled when I call back. I'm not a member of ACS.

Interestingly, I filled out an online sweepstakes for HGTV recently, and since then- I've been receiving these mystery phone calls from this number. Could be a coincidence- maybe not.

I got a call from this number on my cell. I didn't answer and I am not an ACS member

These people called 15 times between 8:45pm 10:00pm..we did not answer and they did not leave a message. When they called back the 16th time, my husband answered and told him to not call our home again. The man didn't say what company he was calling from but had a very thick Indian accent

In the past 24 hours I have received 6 calls from this number, some late at night. How can I get them to stop.

I am not an ACS member, never have been and had never heard of it.  But i've been getting calls from this number, won't answer them and they don't leave a message.

I am not an ACS member and they have called me three times in the past two weeks and if I dont answer they hang up and call right back. VERY Annoying!

I did not answer, but I thought I would look up the number.  Interesting that everyone is an ACS member.  Can we report this to ACS?

Yup, just got this call and I'm an ACS member too. So guess the third party doesn't like leaving voicemails, and I guess we're all too suspicious of answering Jacksonville area codes haha.

Have received several calls from this number, but haven't answered them.  Never left a message.  I am a former ACS member, have no intention of renewing my membership, and I have made that clear to ACS.

I RECEIVED A CALL FROM THIS NUMBER AT 11:15 A.M. ON MARCH 22, 2010 AND NO VOICEMAIL WAS RECORDED.  I AM ALSO AN ACS MEMBER, JUST LIKE THE OTHER CONTRIBUTORS TO THE VARIOUS POSTS ON THIS WEBSITE.  MY MEMBERSHIP IS CURRENT UNTIL SEPTEMBER 2010, SO I DON'T KNOW WHY I WOULD BE RECEIVING CALLS FROM THIS THIRD PARTY AFFILIATE OF ACS, IF MY DUES ARE UP TO DATE.

Also an ACS member but when I answered the phone I was hung up on.  I contacted ACS and was told that they hire a third party survey company to conduct surveys for them and they use 904 numbers for the area codes.  It's okay to answer general questions, just don't give out any personal info.
