So, employees of this so called survey, it is obvious from your posts you need to spend more time studying. Your grammar and posts say it all. You are not texting your friends, you are writing on a public forum. Keep it professional and stop calling US! u get that r do I need to B more specific?

I got the same call on my cell phone even though I'm a minor. Just like several others, I don't answer unknown numbers, and since I missed the call and now know what it's about, I'll be sure to refrain from calling back. Thanks for the information!
pamt 2012-10-05 00:23:21 Unknown
It's obvious you're way younger in something; wisdom and the lack of training in respecting your elders! Who do you think YOU are. Most of us have already gotten our degrees; nobody owes your a** a conversation because you had the misfortune of being born yesterday. You are an interruption, and it is our choice on what we do with interruptions. Now, grow up and go back to English, grammar, and spelling class. You were obviously asleep in all three of them.
pamt 2012-10-05 00:20:33 Unknown
It's even simpler than that, fella: You're blocked on my phone so you can call till the cows come home. You have a lot of nerve trying to dictate how and when I should pick up my phone to get rid of you.
pamt 2012-10-05 00:18:39 Unknown
I get calls from them a lot too. I downloaded a call block app on my android phone. It cuts them off immediately. Not bothered anymore cause they can't get through to me.

MAKE THEM STOP!!!!

Why is the University of North Fla. calling me in Ohio to do a survey? I googled the University and alas, the prefix numbers match. I asked that they put us on their do not call list.
JB 2011-06-06 21:06:29 Unknown
We keep getting the calls
PORL 2011-06-06 21:06:29 Unknown
"Why is the University of North Fla. calling me in Ohio to do a survey?" Because it's a nationwide public opinions survey, dip$hit! The no not call list doesn't apply to surveys either, tard.
james 2011-06-06 21:06:29 Unknown
where does that leave you, PORL....untrainable mentally retarded??
Dave in NV 2010-09-17 21:07:38 Unknown
Your explanation is totally without merit. If what you said is true then why can't these so-called "students" directly call in an open and honest manner disclosing who they are calling for instead of hiding behind the same phony name (I am in Nevada and I get calls from the same "University of N") but from different numbers just like scam artists, and hang up after two rings without even leaving a message? Is this any way to conduct a genuine poll? Whom are you kidding?
Dave in NV 2010-09-17 03:59:08 Unknown
I had been getting many scam calls for some time so I installed a Digitone Call Blocker which works great. Unfortunately it controls only one phone so I just keep the ringers of my other phones turned off. I have also blocked all the numbers of the "University of N" I had been recently getting. With the elections coming, I suppose this nuisance will just keep increasing. The Panasonic KX-TG7431 answering system also has a limited call blocking capacity but it does not prevent the first ring on blocked calls which the Digitone machine does. I, however, use both.

really yall are just about the rudest and most incosiderate people. i swear. and no im not talking about the OPRL im talking about all of yall wanting to blow whistles in peoples ears. as a fellow employee of the OPRL which is primarily a job for college students and foreign exchange students who are having difficulty finding jobs in this economy or even more so are only going to be in the country for a short time and would like to make some extra cash so they can really enjoy america. the whole purpose of our job is too collect anoymous and varied data from across america in hopes to actually better all of our lives. have u ever bothered to listen to who we are doing to polls for? our most recent one was for the department of transportation so they could determine how a variety of people across FL felt about highway safety and whether they should devote more of an effort to improving it. and as for a perfect world.... well our jobs enable you, or rather, it enables all of those who choose to retain at least a scrap of dignity by politely giving us around 5 minutes of their time to answer a few questions that are not only anonymous but often innocent in nature. so i think in a perfect world it is not our job that would change but rather the bitterness and loathing that all of yall feel towards innocent college kids trying to make a few extra bucks at an easy and stress free job.
i guess at the end of this all i really wanna say is that you dont bother me when you yell or are rude but its a little bit embaressing for yourself. not to mention theirs really no need to be that way. a little bit of kindness can go a long way. i hope everytime you do something childish and spiteful to a stranger on the phone just doing their job that your self respect goes up just the littlest bit because, hell, im in college, im making money, and im young and alive and chances are, if you're yelling into a phone then your life probably blows.
oh and because im probably considerably younger than most of yall on here and will probably do way more with my life than yall did... [removed:lang].

How do you get past "Do not call list"? Please take my name off of your list.
m 2010-05-27 22:20:36 Unknown
How many are happy that their voices get to be heard? How many would be happy if your telephone was taken away?
You have a lot of nerve to think that "many" are happy with you!
STOP ALL PHONE SURVEYS NOW 2010-04-07 19:50:36 Unknown
So you call unlisted numbers, numbers on the do not call list, basically anyone, ask questions that are none of your damn business, then SELL the answers for money to your customers. In a decent world, your job and company would not even exist.
What happens if somebody blows a whistle or airhorn in the phone? Really loud. Do you know what that means? Call me, I can help you understand. If you don't get it the first time, call again, repeat.
SCUM.

Hey everyone, I am an employee at the Public Opinion Research Laboratory. Just to clear up a few things:
1. Phone numbers are randomly generated, so it does not matter if you have a private number. Also, 8:30 is a reasonable time in my opinion, although the vast majority of the surveys are conducted well before then.
2. If you say "no" to the survey, you are coded as "refused" and that's that.
3. If you hang up during the intro, you will be called back (in a couple days, not right away as reported) - so it's easy and polite to simply say no thanks. We have no way of knowing why the call was ended (it could have been a toddler for all we know) so that's why the numbers are called back.
4. We don't conduct surveys for political or sales reasons, all of our work is research-oriented and much of it impacts important policy decisions. Many are happy that their voices get to be heard.
5. If someone was discourteous to you (which I haven't heard any complaints about) then feel free to google "UNF porl" and send an email, which is the fastest way to get in touch with us.
Now I hope everyone has a better understanding of why they are getting calls from this number. Thanks!

Calls and then hangs up. this has been going on for a few years.
lamet 2009-09-09 17:31:22 Unknown
the only way to stop them is to report them to the DNC website and FTC
SO DO IT

We have been getting calls from this number for about a month now.
We also do not answer calls from numbers we don't know.
We also have unlisted phone number.
This needs to stop.
We've even had a phone call at 8:30 pm!
I have my whistle ready!!!
Jerey Bob 2009-04-17 23:19:21 Unknown
Calls 2-3 times a day

We keep getting the calls also. It is annoying
fed up 2008-08-12 23:17:30 Survey
These people continually call. If you don't answer the phone the 1st time they call back till you pick up. Also, I hung up on one and they immediately called back. I'm going to buy a whistle to blow their ears off next time. I guess having a private unlisted, unpublished number means nothing.
Employee 2008-07-18 13:06:41 Unknown
It is from the Public Opinion Research Lab at UNF. They conduct polls across the US.

Keep receiving call from this number shows up as University of N on caller ID, soon as machine picks up they hang up. No message. I do not answer calls from number I do not know. Any one know who this is?
