This company is not a real collections agency. They hack into payday loan sites and other financial sites and get social security numbers and peoples info. They always try to scare you b/c they are try to steal money from you. DO NOT EVER GIVE OR VERIFY ANY INFO TO THEM. All they want is money, and they will say they are "investigating you" or that they have information on you, or you have written a fraudulent check, but notice that it never is any specific details.You will never be contacted by phone for a fraudulent check. These companies bonce around a lot, from many different phone lines. They use a digital system and can call you from any number they want. It's so easy, in fact there is a program for the iphone that does the same thing. Just Hang up. If they get aggressive, get all of there info and report them to your states Attorney Generals Office.
Also contact the FTC http://www.ftc.gov/os/statutes/fdcpajump.shtm. You can also trace the call with the local phone company.

A phone company service called Call Trace may also be able to help track down harassing calls. Immediately after receiving a harassing call, you enter the code *57 on your phone and the call is automatically traced (1157 on rotary phones). Call Trace is easier than using a Trap since the customer does not have to keep a phone log. But Call Trace technology works only within the local service area.

My wife got a call this morning from Jones and Myers Assoc saying they were trying to locate me as a "person of interest in a case they were investigating." They tried to get my wife to divulge my social security number and when she refused they got aggressive and demanding and she hung up.
