I am soo sick and tired of getting calls from web.com at 6:30am PST. I have called them and asked them to remove my number from their database and still continue to get calls at 6:30am. I am also on the DO NOT CALL list as well. I am beyond pissed off at this point. I don't have a domain, nor do I need one or want one ever with this company.

Web.com is a web design team. I used them for my site. I was contacted by them the first time b/c I submitted information to a company about some business cards. It's not scary, people do sell your information.  It happens. Your phone, cable, etc always do it. Uless told otherwise companies sell information.

my phone rang twice and no one there when I answered it.

I called the contractor, Mr. R. and told him about this website post.  I also told him everything the woman at WEB COM had said to me:  they build websites and DON'T give referral. Mr. R said he pays the company http://www.renovationexperts.com/ for referrals.  The company had told him they only give one referral to 3 or 4 contractors.  And yet, when M. R contacted a referral the homeowner said, "You're about the 30th person whose called to submit a bid."  

Something else very strange:  I went to Walmart a couple days ago and on the bottom of the receipt I could go to www.entry.survey.walmart.com, answer some questions (which I've done many times before) and my name is entered into a sweepstakes.  I took the survey YESTERDAY - the same day that the woman at 904-680-6600 said I signed up to have a contractor call me.  TODAY, went I went to http://www.renovationexperts.com/, immediately after I left the website a big flashing "ad" came up saying I had "won" something at WalMart!!  There is something very fishy about all this.

Received a call from a local contractor saying that my name was given to him because I had posted it on Bob Villa's (sp???) contractor's website asking for someone to contact me about a tile job.  This man had my address AND my email address.  I did NOT do this.  He apologized, said he'd call the company who had given him the referral and tell them to remove my name from the list.  A few minutes later a woman called from the 904-680-6600, ID Name WEB COM and said I had submitted this request yesterday, August 25.  The only sites I was on yesterday are ones that I've visited many, many times: nutritional site, pet care, walmart, google.  This scares me!
