This is scam, I got call fro mthat number but I called Citibank and they have no record of anybody calling me.
If you get call from 904-954-1092 do not answer and do not give any info. Call Citibank directly and they will check your cards.

It's a valid call, just CitiCards checking to make sure a recent charge was in fact made by me.
| Natalie 2011-08-11 20:23:33 Unknown |
It is legit. They called within 15 minutes of my card being declined, I'm impressed.

Legit call from Citibank fraud division. Just called to tell me they were going to send me new cards and listed off some of my recent transactions asking if I had made them. They were all transactions I had made. Didn't ask me for any information other than to just confirm what address I wanted my new cards sent to.

It's legit - Citibank fraud division, just told me what was going on and that they would send me new cards.

This is legit. I got a call from them to that went to voicemail saying they needed to talk to me about fraudulent activity and they gave me a report number.
I didn't call the number they gave me, but rather the number on the back of the card, and it was true. The reference number was also legit.
Citibank is sending me a new card. Glad they caught it.

1) You get a call from someone purporting to be fraud alerts.
2) if you call the non-toll-free number you get a very authentic sounding IVR system. It asks you for your credit card number (this is the compromise step) to route the call (my first indication and I should have flagged it, note this is the same path when you call the toll free number directly).
3) They ask me for my confirmation information (mother maiden name etc). I will be changing it from now on.
4) They ask some address confirmation information
5) They then put you on hold, they then call the real number using your information to obtain information about your account, like minimum payment due, and due date. They use this to give a sense they have inside information.
6) They they pretend to look up your information and fraud and then they tell you no fraud was detected. and apologize that it was probably to give a notification of upcoming payment.
at this time this did not make sense, called CITI directly and my account had false transactions.

I agree with Stuart - the same thing just happened to me. I called the number on the back of my card and I did have fraudulent activity. I think these folks are legit but always call the number on the card

Just got a call. They said there was fraudulent activity on my Shell Platinum card, which I do not even have one of those. Scammers. Person spoke English but all garbled.

got a call from 904-954-1092 and let it go to Voicemail - they stated it was the Citibank credit card fraud dept and gave a # to call. Called the # on the back of my card instead and they confirmed there was a fraud block on my card as a vendor I had used my card with had lost some data.
Always safer to call the # on the card !

i got a call this morning from that number saying he was from 'citicard', not citibank. i didnt answer it. it went to my voicemail. when i called back the number, he asks for my account number. so like a fool i gave it to him. verified my name. then he tells me 'this is not the number you have to call. call this one', and he proceeds to give me another number. after i hung up, i said to myself, 'why did you just give your number to him?' so i called the number he gave and thankfully, it was the right place. there was no activity on the card. yet. so she cancelled it. i had my doubts at that point too. i said, 'how do i know i can trust you?' she said anytime you have a question just call the number on the back of your card.

Citibank Fraud warning line. They called me about a perfectly normal charge for less than 100. in Europe. I have told them repeatedly that my son is studying in Europe and they should not block normal transactions, but they don't get the message. I get calls from non-native speakers of English and waste time explaining the situation. It is also annoying and embarrassing for my son to have the card declined.
