I got a call from this number earlier with the same pitch - one of 5 prizes that had to be drawn 'by your own hand'.  They promised no money, no purchases, no cost of any kind.  The company was called F Source International (they spelled it out for me although "John" was extremely difficult to understand.  Once the senior manager came on to confirm the claim code, I asked what the business was and he gave me some thing about having to give the prizes to make money since it was a new company - but the connection was terrible - very garbled.  Anyway, I told him my husband said we couldn't go.  Then I googled the company name and the only thing I came up with was a thread on this site for the number 416-548-5983.  Look it up - some very interesting things they had to say, all of it consistent with my experience.

No one spoke to me when I picked up the phone.  I suggest when answering the phone, tell them, with excitement in your voice, whether you have a spouse or not, "My spouse and I are police officers and we could really use a vacation!!!" (or whatever the prize is)  The caller will likely immediately disqualify you from their "contest" or immediately hang up and cross your number off their list.

Received numerous calls first thing this morning from 905.241.1028 -- before 9AM!!!  Insanely aggressive! Hung up on them several times and they KEPT CALLING BACK!  Kept insisting that he wasn't making a "Sales Call" and attempted to legitimize the claim by rambling off information (ie Address, Postal Code etc.), however, (as others have mentioned previously) he spoke with a very heavy South Asian accent, that coupled with his "machine gun" delivery, made him almost incomprehensible.  But, the claim was that we had won some sort of cash prize, a dining room set or a week long cruise because we had entered their contest.  However, we make it a rule to never enter contests -- it's a thinly veiled marketing ploy used by companies to "build their lists".

We tried the previously suggested threat (ie "violation of the 'Do Not Call List'......), however, it was ignored.

Any suggestions on how to get this company to stop calling?

Received a call from them(905-241-1028) on March 24. They are extremely pushy and ignorant to the fact that when you tell them they are on the verge of harrassment, they continue. I told the woman that if the phone calls continued, I would be forced to notify the police. 3 times they tried to call back and I stayed stern throughout every one. Spoke to the police afterwards and they advised me that either next time they call or right after my first call to notify them that they are in violation of the Do Not Call List through the Government of Canada and will be willing to pursue this further, then they will stop.
Cops also said that this is a company where it is forced sales as they basically treat their staff like mules and if they don't catch a fish on the hook, the worm gets thrown away in the lake.

WEIRD!

I also received several calls from this number and it did seem very strange. Do not fall for this scam! They asked me several pieces of personal information and then made a "reservation" for me today at 4 at their Dixie/Derry offices. They also asked me to "make sure" I filled out the forms correctly and to show up with a spouse or family member for a 60-90 min ceremony. I do not know what they want from this but if the cops won't do anything, I guess I will just keep hanging up on them

Actually I did call the police...last night received a call Sunday night at almost 9pm...man with a thick indian accent told my husband that we filled out a ballot in September and we won $5,000...my husband said we were not interested and hung up...the idiot called back...this time I picked up the phone...he keeps talking while you talk...I told him if he called our number again I would call the police...thankfully he gave up and didn't call back.

I was so ticked because this isn't the first time this guy has called...I called my local police department to report a suspicious call...told the officer what had taken place, told her that this guy had our name phone number and address...her response to me was that she advises people that get these kinds of calls to get themselves a "good quality whistle" and blow it into the phone when the person is on the line...they won't call back again, she told me...WHAT? she then proceeded to tell me that the police won't do anything about it...WHAT?

Hello,
I also got a call today from 905-241-1028 who told me I had a $1500, prize for TV, living room funiture, Trip to Alaska and Florida. They asked me if I was working and if I was married or in a relationship and I said no. The rep I spoke with said that he will do me a favor and pass me through to his manager and that I should tell the manager that I am married and working - making a combined income of 60,000.00 or else his job will be on the line. Huh??? You are giving me a prise and your job will be on the line if I do not lie??? Weird- So, I spoke to the manager and he aked me to come in the same day (me and my partner) - If they knew better that me and my partner are able to work making 60K/year - we could not just get up and leave on the spot to claim prizes where I would present 2 pieces of ID and no "proof" of income or anything else - strange. The address they gave to claim the prize is 1510 Drew Rd (Dixie/Derry) in Missisauga, L5S-1W7. The emphasis that I am a couple and that I should show up with my partner. The manager I spoke to was named Stewve Park who had a very strong Asian accent but has a very Anglo-Saxon name ??? his contact number is 416-548-5983 Ext: 1200. Keep spreading the word and stay safe.

Cheers!

Also see the thread here on # 716-240-2842 My wonderful winning announcement call came today from this 905-number - with a 416-548-5983 to call back the senior manager "Paul Martin" (could they not have picked a more original Canadian name?!?!) As per the 716-240-2842 thread - it was a 'ballot' I filled in at a grocery store - the prizes are a 42" TV, trip to Alaska, Cash, etc as well, but one different I had Mr Paul Martin stumbling upon is that he claimed my ballot noted me as married (never been) and then he could not offer me a prize without a partner/spouse to take trip.

Meanwhile - YES!! Thank you for spreading the word and informing - I hope this posting now helps someone else!

Stay Safe!
