I live in Oakville Ontario, and am getting calls from this number, which I do not recognize.  I refuse to answer it, and I tried calling it back and got an automated voicemail prompting the caller to leave a message, but no indication of whom owns the number.  That alone seals the deal that this is not to be trusted, and any business in Ontario selling a product by phone has to offer an automated do not contact option, which is lacking here.  Another commentor, Angie, says these guys are illegitimate gas people selling gas contracts.

So beware of answering the phone if this number shows as they are almost certainly not an honest business.

got this number on my phone recently and when i answer, no one is there....hmmm..if they call, why wont they answer...not sure who they are...

Same here.  called, answered and nobody respond.

This is one of 3 numbers from summitt energy...they constantly call my home and cell phone.  the other numbers are 647-430-1100, 647-477-7552 and now this one.  I am not stupid, do they think they are smart by calling from different numbers...I called 1-877-222-9529 it is not summit energy...it is a law office.

They're a scam company so beware. They canvased my area (full of college students) for people to sign up, they're very persistent. I agreed so they would go away, they claim "no penalty for early withdrawal from the contract" it's a lie. Once I moved, I got a letter in the mail for 1000$ that I apparently owed them. To get them to retract the bill I had to send information about my new address and proof that I no longer had a gas bill. Now they have my new contact information and keep "losing" my information and require me to send it again. Yea right.

Look out, they're out to steal your money because unless you're going to live there for 5+ years, you will have a big bill to pay.

I just wanted to say that these people are stalking the Enbridge truck, following them around to find new connections, so they can threaten people that they will have their gas disconnected if they don't sign for their new account, saying that they are with Enbridge. If you see them tell them off for me! Thanks.

This # is for summitt energy, I sure hope they are legit, I signed up before i saw this posting.  They are selling fixed rate gas & hydro plans. Their brochure has these #'s 1-877-222-9529  www.summittenergy.ca

I've had a number of calls from this number over the last week and a half and I also tried calling the number back and got the answering machine is full!!! how do I get them to stop calling?

Got 1 call yesterday just before 1pm, wasn't home and did not answer. Left no message.  Called today about 6:35pm.  My wife answered, and man said his name was "George" and wanted to talk to me. She put him on hold, and came to give me the phone.  I went to answer the call and he hung up.  I tried calling the number and got a "mailbox full" message.  googled his number, and found this site. Thank you for letting me know who this is.  My wife signed something from "Summit Energy".  I'm calling to cancel what ever this is...SCAM!!!

I get calls from this number 1-2 times a day with no message. I have called there too and just get a "leave a message" and then the message box is full. Thank you for letting me know its a gas company. Makes sense. Great service this !

I've also been getting calls from this number but have not been answering. They have been calling my cell phone and I only answer calls from numbers that I know.  I'm glad that I found these comments so I can notify my carrier.

It's a GAS SUPPLY company RIPPING PEOPLE OFF!
I bought a house in Welland, Enbridge Gas read my meter and did not talk to me. Then this guy from the number above comes to my house 20 minutes later and said he's with Enbridge gas and is setting up my new account and I could not have gas unless I signed, or it would have to be disconnected.  I asked him for 20 minues if he was trying to change my rate and lock in an amount, he said, no, no , no.... I was renovating and in a hurry, I have 2 babies and didn't want them to freeze from this guy disconnecting my gas (winter season). So I signed. Tonight I get a call from the above number, this guy said I signed a 5 year contract... Needless to say I told him off... he told me it was VOID and hung  up on me.. but we will see when I get my next bill..... IT'S A SCAM!!!!
