Got three calls from one of the other numbers listed (905-352-3813) this week and then a call from 1-905-327-7829 this morning (Sunday). It was a guy with an thick accent/broken English. He knew the family name in our household & claimed he was calling to offer us better interest rates than our VISA/Mastercard.

I've tried to call both numbers back and the first one said the number wasn't in service. This one went to a "person not avail" w/no voicemail Option.

How do we report these numbers to higher authorities?

December 2,
I got a call from 905-327-7829, as like many of the comments i have read here, I awnsered and there was silence on the other end. I waited for a response, but eventually heard a mans voice, sounded like background noise. Curious I called back the number and got a busy signal, when tried again, no awnser ! Think i will keep calling, HOW DO YOU LIKE ME NOW !!!!

I added 905-327-7829 to the DNCL this morning.  I know it won't stop them calling me, but if these evil bastards use this list as a "do call list" they should end up calling themselves illegally.  I have registered complaints, but nothing gets done.  So whenever I get a call which sounds like it is from India, I tell the guy "hurry up, my steak is getting cold - you know what steak is don't you?".  Should also say that Teleglobe seems to be the source of quite a bit of fraud according to some of the google search results I have come across.

I just got a call from 905-327-7829, which went straight to my answering machine.  When I tried to call back, I got "the customer you are trying to reach is not available"  What I dont understand, is how come they cant figure out who this is when they have the phone number.  Obviously, even a pay as you go cell phone has to be activated by someone.  This kind of stuff is rediculous.  Where are they getting the phone numbers anyway?

I received several calls from 905 327-7829 in the past 24 hours. The first two times I hung up as soon as I heard that tell-tale silence when I answered the phone. The third time I said hello and a guy with a foreign accent asked to speak to Mr. or Mrs. (Correct name). I said "Are you trying to sell me something?" and this time he hung up. They just called back and I was planning on confronting them, having read everyone's comments here, but they hung up. I HATE TELEMARKETERS, and scam artists are the scummiest of them all.

Received a call from (905) 327-7829, at around 5:30pm (eastern).  Briefly heard voices on the other end, like you'd hear in a telephone call centre/boiler room.  No one spoke directly to me, although I did say "hello" before there was a click, and the line went silent.  Tried an online reverse phone search on whitepages.  Call came from St. Catherine's-Thorold.  Even had a Google Map showing location (central). Listed as on Bell Mobility network.  Owner's name and address not available via this search method.  Tried a U.S. based reverse cell phone search.  The "free search" gave the same information, but for another $15.00, you are supposed to be able to get a "full report" on the owner's name and location.  Well, I wuz had!! The $15 search told me no more than the free white pages reverse phone search.  Other suggestions for reverse phone searches I found on YouTube include: boardtracker.com, myspace, yourspyingeyes.com.  Type in the full phone number in the search bar.  If no results, try typing in the full number, placing "  " marks around the last 7 digits.  A further aid: try typing in "St. Catherine's-Thorold" after the number, either with or without the area code, "  " marks, etc....
I believe I have some clues as to who may be behind these calls.  I met a strange, large man in Fergus, Ontario, in June of 2008, who claimed to work for Mastercard.  He had been chatting-up my girlfriend for about 3/4 of an hour while we were out at a pub one night with her daughter, listening to music.  When I confronted him, he claimed to have "a job" for my girlfriend, and it included helping him track down $1.5 million in "stolen" money.  He wanted her to do "an investigation" for him.  Uh, huh.
Well, we're broke-up now, and it turns out she's now apparently getting "lots of money" from Mr. Mystery Mastercard man.  For all I know, it was my ex-girlfriend calling me tonight from some telephone boiler room in St. Catherine's!!
If this sounds really twisted, it's because it is!!  I may be really reaching here.
If anyone reads this message, and successfully identifies the owner of (905) 327-7829, I'd be very interested to know that name.  So would the authorities.

Ontario 905-327-7829 spam source. Such wild attack should be stopped. The telecom companies should not let spammers to go through their lines. It does not look like telecommunication providers do anything about this.

I had the 905-327-7829 number call me right before the teleglobe call center number called me from 905-456-0500.

I am on the DNCL and have warned teleglobe before. I have filed another complaint against teleglobe on the crtc website.

It seems very strange that a call from someone claiming to be from a credit card company, is calling around the same time as teleglobe, who uses previous credit card users names to contact them for 'vacation deals'.

Check out rip off reports on teleglobe's history and you will understand more clearly why this is disturbing.

Someone has to shut these people down before they take a bunch of money from people who can't afford to lose any right now.

I would suggest that any time you get one of these types of calls that you go to the crtc website and file a complaint. It's the only way they will eventually stop. Strength in numbers!

Claimed to be calling on "behalf of Visa".  When I asked which brand, he said, "any".

I immediately told him I was on the Do-Not-Call-List, and told him to add me to their internal do-not-call-list.

I got a call too from this number. Getting sick of these things. IF I had time and money I would to St. Catherine's and actually hunt down these people.
This is where the number is located.
Perhaps someone in St Catherine's can phone the Police. It is a attempted fraud from I see.

I got a call today (Sunday) from 905-327-7829 at 2:54 pm ET. I said "hello" but noone there. Two days ago (Friday) I received a similar call from 905-352-3813 at 10:20 am ET. Again, I said "hello" and noone answered. On both occasions I stayed on the line until it clicked off. Very annoying. I'm also on the "do not call list" and I hope someone tracks these people down and ines them substantially.

This is one of MANY fake phone numbers used by a company named Freedom Financial Corp. Do NOT give them ANY information under ANY cicumstances. They are scam artists who operate all over the USA and Canada. They should all be in jail. If they contact you, report them to Phone Busters.

They just called me asking all sorts of personal data, like birthday, name, the 3 digit security code on my card, etc. Didn't give it to them and he kept telling me he couldn't use that information anyway, which isn't true. I hung up but they keep calling back.  Supposed to be for a low interest credit card but it's clearly a scam.

Just got a call from this number.  They asked for a "C (?) Kitwinnie (?).  The guy on the other end didn't even know how to say the name.  It was no one at my phone number but really, IF YOUR CALLING TO SELL SOMETHING AT LEAST KNOW HOW TO SAY THE NAME.  Anyway, I am also on the do-not-call registry and still receive phone calls from these wierd numbers.  If it is indeed for a credit card we all know we can go to our bank and get one.  Do not give any info ever over the phone.  If people are still getting sucked into this crap shame on you.  Just say you have the wrong number and hang up.  I do it all the time.  I do though enjoy listening to them as they sound really stupid as the majority of the time they can't speak english or french.

Received a call 14Nov2008 at 10:50 am EST from (905) 327-7829.  Some barely coherent fellow with a thick southern US accent, saying he was calling with regard "to your credit card and the Mastercard and the Visa and the Bank of Canada".  I asked him what the hell he was talking about, and he responded insolently "Oh yeah.  The HELL I'm talking about is..." at which point I knew he was not a professional and had no call center training, and hung up.  After writing this post I will enter the number in the Canadian DNCL complaint file.  From the CRTC web site:  "You can lodge a complaint with the operator of the National DNCL online at http://www.LNNTE-DNCL.gc.ca or by calling 1-866-580-DNCL (866-580-3625). One important detail: don?t hang up if you get an unwanted call! To make a complaint you need to provide the name of the organization that called you OR the number where that organization can be reached, the date of the call and your own number. By law, telemarketers must give you their name and number. After you make your complaint, an investigator will follow up and determine if the rules have been broken."

I just received call asking if I had a visa or mastercard.  I responded "yes."  Caller responded asking me if I had a high interest credit card of more than 10%.  I answered "No"  Caller asked "No?"  I said "No."  Caller hung up on me.  I receive one of these calls a day.  My boyfriend has spent 30 minutes on the phone with them on 2 seperate occasions.  He would not give them any private information but just argued with the about their validity.  We have also asked to be removed from their calling list on at least 5 occasions.  This is obviously a phishing scam.
